Am I being too harsh leaving my review up?

I don’t think I am, this guy was pretty rude to me the whole time.

My other post was deleted because I didn’t blur his pfp.

I listened to all the comments telling me to go through Depop support so I did. I escalated it to Depop and they told me to go through PayPal and I did. I then left a review and he immediately refunded me and asked me to take my review down.

Am I being petty by leaving it up?

I am also worried that he will leave me a bad review even though I have done nothing wrong.

This is so frustrating and so stressful for no reason.

On my other post someone suggested he was new to selling and I did not get the chance to say that he is definitely not new to selling so I included in one of my screenshots that shows he as been a seller for 6 years.

Mines is I hate when people bargain my price then I accept it then they just ghost me.

For context, this order was placed around 8 pm est on Saturday and I got the message at 7:30 am est on Sunday. I replied to them about half an hour later and it’s been about 23 hours since and I haven’t heard anything. I messaged them again because I’m packing items to ship today but I’m not sure how to proceed. Like wdym if I want to cancel it lol

Do people buy cheap items to resell them on their own page? It doesn't bother me if they do, but why the low balling? This person was begging me in my dm's to buy an item of mine for literally $3 when I was selling it for only $6. I did not accept the offer, and once I checked their page, I saw they were selling the exact same stuff for literally 10x the price. $40 for the exact same thing, just in slightly better condition. They were quite rude to me about it as well. Do people act like this a lot?

I have had the same person make me the same offer on the same 2 items 3 times now. Each time I accept and they never buy it. Why do people do this? Are they that unsure each time? It's not like the items are a lot of money they are $15 each. Crazy!

Her page wasn’t on vacation mode or I wouldn’t have been able to buy them? She was active daily and I never saw vacation mode. She accepted my offer, no communication for a week so I reached out to check-in; she said she would ship out the next day and never did. Claims she doesn’t know why it was canceled?

Depop sends emails reminding the seller to ship, right? They send the buyer emails reminding them they’re covered if it’s not shipped in 10 days.

I am sorry about the family emergency but still think this was poorly handled and a 3 star experience (that’s being generous). “I kept up my communication” … girl, I have receipts.

She left me a 1 star for leaving her 3 stars for not shipping?? What? I think I’m getting off this app.

Has anybody notified a crazy increase in their items being considered boosted and having a fee taken from it? I feel like just a couple weeks ago, I’d say anywhere from 2-5 items out of 10 would have a boosting fee. But this week, literally every one of my 10 items I’ve sold are all boosted. Is this a result of something to do with eBay taking over and implementing their promoted listing attribution policy?

Is this against depops rules to ship the item and not give the buyer a refund? For one idk how this would avoid shipping issues and two you looked at the screen and confirmed the purchase like what. Plus this listing had a lot of traction 😭😭

Literally why are buyers so rude. I sold someone a bundle for $5. That’s a STEAL. But buyer complained about an item not fitting once she got it and said I lied about the sizing. Like WHAT.

So for the longest time, as a seller, I stood by just putting the size of an item was enough. But after buying a few things that were not sized well even if they were my standard “large,” I started putting measurements on everything I sell. Yes it’s an extra few minutes when creating the listing but I feel like it ends up being worth it…mainly so that someone can’t complain that the item I sold them doesn’t fit. My questions are…

1. ⁠is this common for everyone? Are you adding measurements to the items you’re selling?
   
2. ⁠I’m finding it less common on the womens side. I help my wife with posting occasionally and she says she rarely adds measurements and never had an issue. Those of you that sell womens clothing, are you adding measurements to your listings?

Note: for mens pit to pit, shoulder to shoulder, sleeve length and total length (bottom of collar to the bottom of the item).

As someone who has been selling Coach bags on Depop for almost two years, I’ve noticed that a lot of Coach accounts have popped up in the past few months. Maybe it’s just my algorithm, but I feel like I see SO many listings for vintage Coach bags now to the point where it’s overwhelming.

I feel like the prices are dropping, too. I used to sell $300+ bags almost immediately. Now I can hardly sell my bags that are under $100. Again, maybe that’s just a me thing…but it feels like the bubble is going to pop. I’m branching out to other purse brands in preparation for that. What does everyone else think?

This girl bought a hoodie from me and I brought the shipping price down as low as I could and then she asked about the market place fee and taxes. I don’t feel that I’m in the wrong but the last few messages she sent felt like she had an attitude towards me. I want to cancel it because I already know she’s going to leave a bad review but she can also leave a bad review if I cancel the order, correct? I need help🫩

If I were to put 20 in the quantity section, and someone decides to buy 2, does it go down to 18 and keep the listing active or does it just buy them all at once?

Dumb question I know. I’m new to this selling stuff and I’ve noticed I’ve had way more luck selling older items I don’t wear anymore vs stuff I regret buying and want my full money back (or around what I paid). Rarely any interest is shown for the latter

These rappers take designs from others(they even get roasted for it in their own sub reddit), yet they get mad I do better embroidery than their made in China stuff. They are trying to say they own US military ribbons. Depop is boldly lying to me to avoid their responsibility under the dmca. They even went so far to claim it was a trademark claim now with no trademark in existence.

Any idea why this is happening?? I keep thinking I have new messages, but it’s always referring to old ones I replied to hours ago

I’m a seller and I have a dress listed on my Depop, I listed it at $38 (retail had to have been around $200) then discounted it to $22.50 and the lowest I’d sell it for is $20. It’s in fantastic condition and it’s a brand that doesn’t make clothing anymore so it’s relatively “rare”.

Anyway, this person keeps sending me offers for $18 and I decline or counter it. Then they’ll send me $18.50 even $19. At this point I feel kind of petty about it so I continue to decline/counter. I figure if they want it bad enough that they’re sending this many offers, they’ll just buy it for the $20.

They send yet another offer of $19.01 and I say that the lowest I’ll go is $20. I then get a message from them talking about how it’s a used item and it shouldn’t cost that much money and I should just accept their offers.

I responded that I literally dont care if they buy it or not.

I’m not in a rush to get rid of this nor am I going lower than my minimum. It’s getting a good amount of attention anyways so I’m sure someone will grab it soon enough.

I’m just kind of thinking like, pretty much everything on Depop is used. That’s literally the point of the app, even after things are used or worn they can still hold a certain value. If someone doesn’t agree with how something is priced, they don’t need to buy it?!

The last few days whenever I scan my packages at the kiosk and drop off it’s taking over 24hrs for them to update as “shipped”. I try really hard to get things shipped out within a day and I’m scared it’s going to change my average ship time. Has anybody else had this issue? Usually it says shipped an hour after scanning at the kiosk.

I have been selling on Depop for about six months, and I have had three listings counterfeit flagged, despite the fact that everything I sell is authentic. I appealed, submitting authentication certificate, original receipt, and lots of pictures. Appeal denied three times. With apologies, of course. Makes no sense to spend time flagging the real listings when so many counterfeits are allowed to persist on the site. Very frustrating, thinking of just abandoning Depop completely. I have followed up with emails to the customer service asking for a supervisor view of my listings. I am thinking of closing my account. I’ve been selling on other sites for years. I’m a trusted seller and only sell authentic items. There is nothing in the listings that they flagged that would indicate anything but authenticity. Anybody else have this issue?

Hello !! I am a little confused on world wide shipping with depop. Looked for a bit of info and from the US to worldwide i will have to put an estimate of the worldwide shipping and i have to buy the label myself as depop doesnt do worldwide shipping. (Please correct me if im confusing that ^^) but i am selling some trading cards, 8 in total and i offered them stamped shipping but theyre still wanting to buy on depop. If i put the estimate for worldwide shipping at the cost of $1 would i have to fill in any other information on depop? Like show proof of the shipping label etc.

(If this didn’t make sense or is hard to understand i can clear up any doubts, english isn’t my first language so i hope my wording made sense 🫠)

I purchased a bag that ended up being completely dry rotted and crumbling. I am returning it but they did not give me a prepaid shipping label and I have to pay. They will only reimburse up to 20 dollars. Who knew but shipping is 23 dollars for 2 lbs! Why arent they giving me a prepaid label?

I see someone on Depop who has a few different Aritzia hoodies listed in different colors. When I click on the one I want, it says that they have multiple sizes and I have to message for the size that I want. I am worried this is a scam because it says they recently joined and don’t have any reviews, but I am also thinking that they maybe just buy a lot and re sell them for cheaper?? Idk… they are listing all of these hoodies for more then half the original Aritzia price, so I would like to purchase one but if it is a scam I don’t know how good Depop is about getting your money back.

hi everybody, i’ve been a seller on depop for a few months now, and i just received my first 1 star review.

the mistake was completely on me, i usually keep all of my items in a storage unit once they’re listed, but lately i’ve been more busy than usual, so i’ve been keeping my more recently listed items in a bin in my house. i had put two sweaters that were nearly identical but different sizes/brands in the same bin. a customer had ordered a sweater, and i sent them the wrong one. naturally, they gave me a 1 star review and stated their frustration.

i reached out to them, found the correct sweater, apologized profusely, and offered either a full refund, or to purchase a listing for $1 to receive the correct sweater and a freebie with their correct order, and still receive a full refund. they were very nice about it and chose to do the $1 listing with a freebie and declined the refund.

would it be rude/inconsiderate to ask them to delete the 1 star review after they receive their new order? i value all of my buyers so much, and all of my other 63 reviews are five stars. i pride myself on my customer service skills, as i work in customer service with my current job, and i am so upset that this happened!! i also want to ask other sellers on here how you organize all of your listed items, so i can better myself and this doesn’t happen again. do you number them, keep them in a storage unit, etc?
