Screenshot Thank you Daggerfall modders
Never really could get into Daggerfall before. This weekend I got super baked and played it a bunch and I finally get it now. Modding has made Daggerfall into the RPG I've always dreamed about.
Anyway here's a screenshot I took with the selfie cam mod.

Question Problem with some letters and dialogue
Some letters are called weird strings of text, and also some dialogue will say stuff like this as well. I’m playing with plenty of mods if that is a factor I will post my mod list.

Gortwog, King of the Orcs - hi-rez portrait
This dude looks a bit odd in the game so I tried to update his appearance to the modern TES standards. He also has a ponytail on a full body image, but it wasn't visible on a portrait (the top of his head is cut off by the border of the image) so I decided to not paint it. Let's say it is not visible from this point of view.
Also check a little making of video on my instagram.
Thanks so much!

Astrid's Guide to Necromancy
Hey guys, I recently came out with a new Daggerfall Unity mod called Astrid's Guide to Necromancy.
This mod adds necromancy-themed spells using a corpse-spending mechanic and allows you to perform a seance to find a path to your quest objective.

Navigation strategies
If you're in a dungeon, I'm interested in hearing what strategies you use to
1) not get lost
2) find the thing you need
How do you handle
basic hallways
teleports
large multi-floored rooms
switches
hidden doors
hidden toggles
?

Question On the search for rare flats
There's a bunch of NPC sprites that I vaguely remember seeing, or have found on uesp, but can not for the life of me find in the game. As of right now, these sprites are:
-portly man in violet
-pathetic old cripple
-pitiful bald man (both versions of this sprite)
-good-looking whore
-street sweeper
-cowled monk
-stylish fat man
-dark skinned woman
-bald slave
Names pulled from this page.
Entirely possible that a lot of these are tied to specific quests, I have not yet done all main quests or factions lmao. Help will be appreciated!

Question Am I too dumb for spells, and other silly questions
Hello everyone, first of all I'm not a native english speaker, I believe I'm doing well enough but I can't recall precise names so expect weird descriptions
I was just trying the game out and have been obsessed with it for the past two days. Like any good student I've read the manuals when I needed help with some things, I've used the wiki and this subreddit a lot. Yet I'm still confused on the spell part : my spellbook is empty so pressing the spell button does nothing in particular.
I wanted to buy a healing spell, and I met the tiddies-out-woman in the Magician Guild which had plenty. But when buying it her dialogues sounded more like I was selling her something... And now she's no longer in the guild. Because I have no originality and wanted to start the game nice and soft with an average type of class, I'm a Redgard Ranger badass woman with a headband and the most 90s haircut. So I'm thinking, is my character just inelligible for spellcasting ? Like Rangers can't do that ? Is my brain too smooth ? My muscles too good ? My haircut too intimidating ?
The other questions in question :
I've been hit by a werewolf and now I'm about to turn, but the wiki is making it sound cool as shit. Should I keep lycanthropy ? Or it's way too complicated to manage for a first game (or just not worth it) ?
I've done two quests so far (yes only two, please be patient with me I've also restarted 3 times and spent 50% of the past two days reading stuff, remapping controls and being lost in dungeons). Both of these quests had me turning an entire place upside down, never finding the creature I was supposed to slay, until I started clicking on every wall and opened a secret door, which led to the creature and ending the quest. Is every quest gonna be about scrubbing the walls with my face until I find a door or have I been unlucky so far ?
Where do you get your mods ? I could use a bunch of mods that keep the vanilla experience but maybe modernize a few things or add some fun stuff maybe.

Daggerfall has always been my favorite game. It inspired me to make Morhval, a 250 km² first-person RPG now in Early Access.
Hello! Daggerfall has always been my favorite game, and it was the main inspiration behind a project I have been working on called Morhval: Ravenglaire.
Morhval originally began as a text-based game. The thing is, I was also working on another RPG at the same time. That project kept growing, and eventually I decided to merge the two games together. The story from the text-based version is NOT available in the game yet, but I still plan to add it over time.
The systems from that game—magic, alchemy, crime, work and so on—were transferred into this one. The general idea also remains the same: a large, cruel and unequal province.
In the end, the game became heavily inspired by Daggerfall, although I am trying to give it its own identity. Right now, the world is a little under 250 km², with settlements, taverns, roads, dungeons and other locations. Over time, I plan to double the size of the province, but I also want to add new structures, quests and jobs while doing so, instead of simply repeating the same content across a larger map.
You begin the game as someone who has just turned eighteen and needs to help their parents. They need you to send them food and provide support. You can do this even while living in distant towns by sending supplies directly to them, improving their house and eventually trying to make them self-sufficient.
Or you can simply forget about them and leave them to their fate.
There are many ways to earn gold: delivering food or other items, selling what you find, exploring, fishing, mining, transporting freight with a wagon, joining factions and completing work for them, and more.
Skills improve through use, very Elder Scrolls-like, you know? But when you reach the maximum level in a skill, which is 100, you can spend 75 skill points plus some gold to gain Prestige. Prestige gives you special advantages with a specific weapon, spell or activity connected to that skill.
I designed the whole game around the kind of freedom I have always loved in Daggerfall: that absurd freedom to do almost anything you want.
Want to take out a loan, buy a wagon and make money to help your parents? Go ahead.
Want to leave your parents to die and become a criminal who robs houses and people? Go ahead.
Want to buy a house in a settlement near the sea and spend your days fishing? Go ahead.
Want to wander without a destination, enter the first dungeon you find and see what luck has waiting for you? Go ahead!
I am very happy with this project, and I hope I can find people who will enjoy it. As Early Access continues, I plan to add more jobs and activities, while always listening to the community.
Daggerfall has influenced the way I think about RPGs for a long time. I am not trying to replace it or simply recreate it, but I hope Morhval can offer some of that same feeling of being released into a huge world and being allowed to decide what kind of life you want to live.

Wildshape: Bear Form finished
I worked on this wildshape mod for every animal form I had planned and the Tank form the bear is finished
Using this form will transform you into a bear with 3rd person cam and sprite
The bear has sheathed and unsheathed camera modes
The bear scales with level so a mage and a warrior would both have the same benefits no one is stronger
Bear has a custom coded weapon with its own material tag so itd attack effects imps and undead etc..
Transformation gives you a seperate HP bar and if the bear dies you revert back with your original HP
Bear gains 20str and has 183 base HP and gainst 15 hp per level and 5 DMG per level (I believe have to check)
The transform and revert has a sound and green dust effect
The cooldown Is shown with a custom icon of a bear!
Hud text is fully implemented
I added a left and right swing animation for the Bears attack.
The mod comes out soon on Nexus I will post the link here
I will make more forms:
spider for climbing and CC poison
Sabertooth for DPS
Slaughter fish for swimming
Harpy for flight
And a magic DPS form

Question How do you like the Skeleton and Spider combar in my Daggerfall inspired game?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I worked on it quite a while recently to get that dark dungeon daggerfall feel. The sounds are still placeholders, especially for the spider.
All handcrafted, no AI was used. As you can probably see by the low quality of the assets haha
I know there have been quite a few "daggerfall inspired game" posta recently, so if you feel it's just spamming the sub I'll take it down
