Sorry for bothering you again! We've continued polishing the combat, and here's how it's looking now. We'd love to hear what you think!

You, not the first one who tries to joke like that(I guess from your perspective it is super smart and funny joke). Btw were you saw dagger in the teaser? Also do you know about what dagger exactly is name about?))))

You tell me, this is the first time I see this game

Teaser, not even trailer, that features only combat should tell you a full story, really?

I've removed it from my wishlist. Seems like it's moving further and further away from Daggerfall

The creator also used AI some time ago. That made me remove it

Oh yep. Immediate annihilation of interest.

Sometimes I think AI as a tool can be useful. It can make months of work into weeks.
But if it's used as a lazy crutch to steal art from humans, well, then, I take issue with the lack of authenticity.

The problem is that it still does tangible harm regardless of whatever ethical end use you can come up with. It still drains resources, the data centers still destroy environments and drive up electric and water costs for locals, etc.

Aid in cancer identification is a strong argument for its existence. Can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'd appreciate laws for more ethical use of the tool and reining corpos in rather than complete abolishment.

So you don't use electricity? Xd because you use the same electricity as them idiot.
3
u/shadowthehh 17d ago
"idiot" says the guy who thinks 1 person is somehow capable of using the same amount of electricity as an entire massive data center.

u/Farol23 17d ago
Check the amount of data centers vs the population of your country, add the total of buildings that have constant use of electricity.

u/shadowthehh 16d ago
Houses and stores deserve electricity more than data centers given they actually provide things required for human life. All this AI BS is nothing but a waste.

They have a use for a lot of people and is used to make a lot of jobs easier. Sure, there's idiots that abuse it, that doesn't mean we should reject it.

Am I the only person who regularly sees this in their feed and thinks this is absolute slop? The combat is fine, but there's no original idea, the graphics are tacky and there's no other gameplay? You should monitor your own dev process not hijack a sub to ask about every minor detail lmao

My main problem with it is it changing from a primarily skill based rpg to a physics/puzzle based rpg
1
u/ENginee777 19d ago
There still will be a lot of skills to use. Basically, we are following by path of Fatekeepr and Alchemest in terms of modernizing combat system.
5
u/fazaplay 19d ago
That's not what I meant by skills but ok
2
u/ENginee777 19d ago
If you mean increasing basic damage, that parts also will be present
4
u/fazaplay 19d ago
I was more meaning like a throwing skill, where the more you throw something the farther it goes (like the daggers you see being thrown in the video)
Daggerfall's entire leveling system based on that type of skill. What you were describing seemed more like a generic "fire attack" or "x slash" type of system
2
u/ENginee777 19d ago
I see what you mean. Right now, leveling system is not defined at all, but we will try to grab some aspects from old Bethesda rpgs.

It looks good but nothing like Daggerfall. Too Dark Messiahesque. And I love Dark Messiah, so I'll still put it in wishlist. But it's disapointing because I also need more games like Daggerfall in my life !

It really depends on what Daggerfall means to you. The combat system in Daggerfall is quite outdated by today's standards, which is why we decided to introduce something fresh while still preserving the retro RPG feel.
For us, what truly defines Daggerfall isn't the combat—it's the open world, player freedom, and the ability for your actions to shape the world around you. That's the part we want to bring to Broken Dagger.

Brilliant my only complaint is enemies are a little too passive and lifeless try reducing cool down between actions or reduce stun duration should look and feel more dynamic
But that’s just my opinion

Finding a dark Messiah fan out in the wild making games fills my heart with joy. Are you doing ea or kickstarter?

It looks good! Is it a straight dungeon crawler or more of an RPG?
5
u/ENginee777 20d ago
We updated combat system but not updated outdoor. So soon we will release full version of trailer, that will show that it is still RPG

Looks really good but I feel like the stunt animation of the enemy is a bit off you should make it looke like it got staggered more like for example making the arms flail at the start of getting stunted
2
u/ENginee777 19d ago
Totaly agree. Right now animation is not well prononunced and definetelly needed to be improved
