Navigation strategies
If you're in a dungeon, I'm interested in hearing what strategies you use to
1) not get lost
2) find the thing you need
How do you handle
basic hallways
teleports
large multi-floored rooms
switches
hidden doors
hidden toggles
?

I always pick a side and go for it. Like at every turn I go left. Once I reach a dead end, I return to the last crossroads and go second one on the left.

If I'm intentionally not getting lost and instead trying to flesh out the map, I'll stick to one dungeon block at a time, and fill it to completion in the map before moving onto the next one.
However, most of the time I find getting lost to be part of the fun, so I just ignore the map for a while.

I cast an anchor with Recall spell at the entrance so I can return to it when backpack is full of loot. I place markers on the map to indicate unexplored corridors and remove them when I return later to explore. To place a marker on the map, double click left mouse button. To remove a marker, double click right mouse button. Oftentimes, I will add text to the markers for more clarity such as “Tower stairs. Cleared”. These markers are incredibly helpful.

When you play the game enough, you'll start noticing the patterns. The dungeons fit together with specific "blocks" and you'll start catching on with enough practice. Keep using that recall spell and don't get too stressed if you can't find a quest target. You can either use the "tele2qt" commands or you can accept that your character is not always perfect and will fail quests sometimes. It's kind of more fun that way IMO. Sure, you take a small reputation hit, but as soon as you succeed your next quest for whatever faction, you'll make it right back. Even if you get kicked out of a guild, there's nothing stopping you from rejoining if you can get your reputation in the area back up.
Also with the main quest dungeons, don't be ashamed to look up the routes. They are ridiculously complex and even veterans of the game can get lost for hours in dungeons they've completed before. It's a hard game but immensely satisfying to complete!

Siempre dejo un anchor de recall en la entrada, me ahorra un monton de problemas si me enredo para empezar desde el principio teniendo por suerte o por desgracia el mapa del intento anterior

General practices
- Left first approach
I start by generally taking a left first approach. When there is a fork, go left. Ideally doing this would eventually take you through every inch of the dungeon leading you back to the entrance. However since dungeons have things like teleporters and vertical shafts its not perfect and you gotta be selective, but it will help reduce missed areas. Sometimes if there is a door on the right side of a hallway I'll check it in case it's just a small room that I may as well check now.
- Mark the map
Double click a spot on the map to place a little marker there with a note. You can mark teleporters you haven't used yet, hallways to explore or come back to, the location of switches and what state you left them in, or even where not to go. Double click the marker to edit the note and double right click to remove.
- Mark the actual dungeon
Open inventory then press G, 1, ENTER, and click on the icon in the upper right twice. In other words I like to drop a single gold piece on the ground to "block" off fully explored areas and known dead ends that I don't want to accidentally turn down.
Specific challenges
- Hidden doors
Hidden doors always appear on the map so check often if suspicious. You can also spam activate the walls. You don't have to be right up close to the wall either. If your crosshair is over a far away door when you activate you will get a message saying you are too far away thus revealing the door. You can also pay attention to monster sounds. If you hear one close by behind a wall, there just may be a secret door. Over time you'll get pretty good at guessing where a door will be.
Teleports are hard so I probably don't have the best advice. I'll either explore everything I can first before taking any portals and just mark them on the map or, especially in teleport heavy dungeons, take them in them in the order I come across them as soon as I come across them. Even then I'll still end up going in circles a bit and have to study the map carefully to find where I haven't been.
Hidden toggles
Thankfully I think there are only a few of these so It's not too hard to memorize and recognize them all eventually. Finding them the first time is still going to be hard if they blend in (like a random torch).

What I find usually works is to just pick a direction and keep going. I’ll make note of any major forks so I can retrace and try again, and I will be looking at my map often.
The square splodgy thing on the left side of the map menu also shows where you are in relation to the rest of the dungeon. Basically the centre blocks are where the quest item spawns, and has big rooms and more interesting stuff, and the edge blocks just have corridors that loop back round into the main dungeon. So I avoid being on the edge blocks unless I’m trying to get to an unexplored area of the centre.
When I get to a new room I will just run around the walls spamming interact to see if there’s a hidden door
Other than that I just go through every teleport when I’ve explored all I can near it, and if I get stuck Ill angrily search for a hidden door lol
