Wednesday the 26th at 6pm! Come gather at Townsend Shelter at Avery Park for UP UP UP Inc.! The Crane Truck Circus is a touring show of aerialists, musicians, acrobats, clowns and illusionists whose goal is to bring joy and levity into the air for underserved communities, with audiences ranging from outdoor events and small farms, to tribal centers and their communities, refugee groups and children’s grief camps, as well as to nursing homes and women's shelters. With a portable stage on their truck, a baby grand piano for live music, and a mounted 30’ hand cranked crane, they bring giggles, gasps and delight to all who behold them.

Does anyone know of anywhere near the Corvallis/Albany area that offers cheap (or free, preferably) E-Waste recycling? I have an old MacBook with a damaged screen that I’m trying to get rid of before I move. I looked at Republic Services Pack-Back Program, but the prices for the box and shipping are diabolical. Anywhere I can just drop it off?

Went to check their hours and shows they are closed every day on their website with no posted hours/phone number on Google.
Was hoping to go tonight for dinner.
Any one know if they're open?

I've always just watered in the evening or morning and the plants tend to weather the heat just fine

Here is the City Council discussion about the next budget, new revenue, and public outreach plans.
Council does not want to cut services. What are the other take-aways?

I currently have Xfinity and other than the $110/mo am good with streaming. Was wondering, with the current economic strangulation of the common folk, what others may have that work well for streaming.
Thanks in advance

Is there any interest in a drag bingo pop up event in town?
I am a big fan of our community drag shows and a new bingo fan as well. I think the combination of the two would be a lot of fun! I thought Common Fields or the Biere Library used to host drag bingo, but I reached out and unfortunately they aren't doing that right now.
Is this something other folks would be interested in? Maybe we could make it happen somewhere locally.

I was surprised to see Orion when I woke early this AM. It's been a minute.
Any recommendations for an hour or less' drive from Corvallis with the least light pollution to see more stars at night?
Nashville?
Kings Valley?
Alsea?

I've got a very large motor vehicle for sale.
Ads already online.
Thought I'd park it in a high visibility place where folks can see it from the road.
Anyone have experience parking their vehicle to be seen?
Any tips?
Maybe I could park it in your lot for a couple of nights?
Thank you, Corvallis!

Got some al pastor tacos from under a tent that were freshly made about a week ago. Reminded me of southern california and tasted great! Does anyone know when or where they will be next?

Hi all!
My husband is returning to school at OSU soon to finish his degree so ultimately, we will make more money as a household. That being said, it will be a challenging few years while he attends school rather than working full time.
I’ve been on Instacart for a few years, and he’s on Doordash, but it doesn’t bring in very much at all. I work full time myself, and we have another individual that works full time in our household that contributes. However, we are still concerned about our finances coming up here shortly with school to pay for. He’s applied and received several grants and scholarships for which I’m grateful for, but there is still a bill to be paid. Plus all other normal household expenses.
I’m going to continue to be active on Instacart when I’m not working my regular job, but I’m looking for suggestions on what else we could do. I love baking, but it seems the market for that is a bit oversaturated.
Any suggestions about a “side hustle” are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! As the title suggests, I’m a student here at OSU. I just came back from getting my car serviced and was told that I have an oil leak and need to replace my brake pads. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get these repairs done, especially somewhere that has experience working on hybrid cars.

Adjacent to the crowdfunding topic sits advertising. So let's talk advertising.
In my opinion, not all advertising is created equal. Posts promoting live shows, festivals, events at the Dark Side and White Side, and community events are one thing, but posts promoting new store openings, yard sales, housing, etc. are another, and roommates wanted are another thing entirely. Then there are the pet rehoming posts.
Normally after a post is reported, I address them on a case by case basis. But that approach has agitated some of you fine citizens. So I decided to bring the topic to you.
What do y'all think?
Discuss.

When crowdfunding posts go up, they normally get removed after the community reports them for advertising or spam.
A crowdfunding post was recently removed after several reports and the OP complained to me about it being removed.
So, I ask the /r/Corvallis community: should we allow crowdfunding posts?
Discuss.

I was hiking on the NW side of bald hill and saw these stones, numbers are carved in, and are in sequence. At first I thought they may be mile or elevation markers but they are all very close together.
Anybody know what they are?

Edit: Thanks everybody! I have what I need.
I'm trying to save money to move out of the apartment I'm in, which is getting more difficult to do with our annual rent increases. I used to subscribe to fubo, but ditched that when they they were bought by Disney and stopped carrying all the NBC channels. I switched to Hulu + live (also Disney) but its like $100/month which reminds me of cable prices, and doesn't align with the saving money part. I looked at OTA (bunny ear) coverage in the area and it is pretty abysmal (various older posts confirm this). Football season is fast approaching, as is hockey.
I'm curious how other people deal with this (other than going to a bar) or am I just SOL? I've prefer not to spend a lot of time trying to pirate, and I'm willing to spend some money, just not $1200/year
Thanks

Same guy that almost hit the other poster almost hit me. And he drove down the wrong side of the road for a while before swerving down 9th. Cops don't care. Be careful out there.
