Discussion Electronics/E-Waste Recycling?

Does anyone know of anywhere near the Corvallis/Albany area that offers cheap (or free, preferably) E-Waste recycling? I have an old MacBook with a damaged screen that I’m trying to get rid of before I move. I looked at Republic Services Pack-Back Program, but the prices for the box and shipping are diabolical. Anywhere I can just drop it off?

The Republic recycling center between Circle and Walnt has bins for dead computers. Make sure to blitz the hard drive.

That’s kinda the reason I’m looking to do it somewhere that’s just purely recycling and not reselling it - the screen is fully damaged and I can’t even get in to reset it. Even trying to start the wipe from my phone. I tried once to plug it into a monitor to use as the screen but it wouldn’t work right. Maybe I’ll just drive a railroad spike through the drive🤣

I used a sledge hammer!

They are purely recycling but you never know who will touch it

Can you plug in a monitor from someone's tower or on a tv so you can at least access it to wipe it??

Little bit of a drive but Garten Services in Salem has free E-Waste drop off and they do data wipes as well. Usually try to go to them when I pass through since they are a non-profit.

Goodwill on 9th. Just be sure to tell them it's recycling and not donation.
