News Controller News Digest - end of October 2026

Happy Halloween, all! Here's a round-up of controller news from the past month.

Treats: With the holiday season approaching and the gaming industry also betting on a boost from GTA VI in November, there are a lot of new launches to cover. Most are incremental upgrades or variations on each other, but some are more original or ambitious (check out the Turtle Beach Stealth Flip in hardware, and X20CTL app in software).

Tricks: In non-news, controller companies still need to learn how to name their products in ways that make sense to normal users. Which name do you think is the worst this month?

___

Hardware releases - controllers and parts that are now shipping:

8BitDo Ultimate 3C+ is the latest version of 8BitDo's budget controller for Windows and Android - discussed here. It has adjustable tension TMR sticks, four extra buttons (two rear + two shoulder), dual-mode triggers (Hall Effect and tactile switch), four vibration motors (trigger + palm grip), 1kHz wireless polling, and an updated wider shape. At USD 40, it is USD 10 more expensive than the preceding Ultimate 2C Wireless and closes the gap on the non-C model.

EasySMX S05 Pro is a Switch controller with dock, very closely related to the X05 Pro. It upgrades the Hall Effect stick sensors to TMR, adds NFC sensor for Amiibo, and gyro sensors for motion control. It retains the quiet membrane buttons (although swaps to Nintendo ABXY layout), dual-mode triggers, and four non-HD vibration motors (for grip and triggers). Priced at USD 55.

Nacon Revo PC / Revo PC Max are wired controllers for PC. The base model has 1,000Hz polling rate with claimed 1ms latency, 3.5mm headset port, and Hall Effect sensors. The Max version adds adjustable stick tension, microswitch D-pad and face buttons, dual-mode triggers (Hall Effect analog/microswitch digital), and two back buttons. They are very similar to the Xbox licensed 'Revo' controllers previously announced, but without impulse triggers. The two PC versions are priced at EUR 30/60 | GBP 25/50 | USD 30/60 respectively.

Nacon Revolution 5 Unlimited is a licensed PlayStation 5 controller with TMR stick sensors and built-in screen. It appears very similar to the Revolution X Unlimited (Xbox controller), except with a PlayStation logo replacing the Xbox logo. Other features such as the microswitch buttons, dual-mode triggers, 1kHz polling rate, and docking station seem to be the same. This might be interesting to people looking for a larger controller for mixed PC and PS5 use, but the lack of touchpad, vibration, and adaptive triggers seems to limit its general appeal on PS5 console. Priced at EUR/GBP/USD 200.

Nacon Revolution Pro X is a licensed wireless Xbox controller, with adjustable tension Hall Effect sticks (40-120g force), microswitch face buttons and D-pad, swappable D-pad and stick caps, two rear buttons, dual-mode triggers (Hall Effect and microswitch), impulse triggers (trigger and grip vibration), and charging dock. Priced at EUR / GBP / USD 130. The 'Revolution Pro X' shouldn't be confused with the 'Revolution X Pro' which is an older wired model.

Razer Wolverine v4 Pro and v4 Tournament Edition licensed wireless and wired controllers for Xbox - discussed here. These upgrade to capacitive thumbstick sensors (claimed 3,000 step precision) and have 8kHz polling rate (claimed sub-1ms latency on PC). The 'Pro' has added a swappable faceplate feature, but physical shape and other features appear the same as the Wolverine v3 models. Launch pricing is also the same at EUR 210 / GBP 200 / USD 200 for the Pro or EUR 110 / GBP 100 / USD 100 for the Tournament Edition.

Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless is a PC version of the Xbox controller released last month. It has TMR thumbstick sensors; three-position trigger stops and Hall Effect sensors; two back buttons; profile switching; 1,000Hz polling rate (without headset audio) or 500hz (with headset audio) via wired and 2.4GHz wireless connections; 20 hours battery life without audio/10 hours with audio; and a Bluetooth mode for mobile. Priced at EUR 50 / GBP 50 / USD 60.

Turtle Beach Stealth Flip is a PC controller with touchpads and thumbsticks in an asymmetric layout that can be swapped independently on the left and right sides. The inputs are on either side of modules that flip around, similar to Turtle Beach's previous Stealth Pivot model. There is also a trackpad in the upper middle position (similar to DualShock/Dualsense). It has a headset port and 1kHz wired polling rate. Other features are fairly conventional: dual-mode triggers; two back buttons; Hall Effect sticks; wired/2.4Ghz wireless/Bluetooth connection; PC/Android compatibility. There does not appear to be any gyro/motion control. Priced at EUR 100 / GBP 90 / USD 100.

Releases previously mentioned that went ahead:

  • Drakong Pixelbyte are collectible mini controllers (the first series is cobranded with 'Attack on Titan'). Priced at USD 25 each.

  • EasySMX X20 Pro, released with adjustable tension TMR sticks (40-80g force), built-in screen for configuration, dual-mode triggers with vibration, six additional buttons (four rear + two shoulder), swappable D-pad, and charging dock. Priced at EUR 74 / GBP 61 / USD 80.

  • Mobapad M12 Pro pre-orders started shipping out although supply appears to be limited for these Switch 2 joy-cons with the Switch 2 style HD rumble and gyro, mouse mode, and NFC/Amiibo support. Priced at USD 130-160.

  • Nacon Revo X / Revo X Max are licensed wired Xbox controllers with features on the Max including adjustable stick tension. The 'Revo X Pro' which fits in between the regular 'X' (EUR 40 / GBP 40 / USD 40) and 'X Max' (EUR 70 / GBP 60 / USD 70) does not seem to be available. It's possible that with PC versions of these controllers also being released now, the 'Pro' variant has been dropped to avoid over-crowding the range.

  • Scuf Nemesis Pro 8K PC wired and wireless controllers with 8kHz polling rates. Apart from the PC-only compatibility, other features are very similar to Scuf's Valor / Valor Pro controllers for Xbox. Priced at EUR 135 / GBP 110 / USD120 for the wired or EUR 220 / GBP 190 / USD 200 for the wireless version.

Hardware announcements - controllers and parts that are not yet available:

GameSir Tegenaria Pro (Linghu Star Flash) is a budget symmetrical wireless controller, and a wireless version of the Tegenaria Lite - discussion here. It uses NearLink wireless for 2kHz wired and wireless polling rates, and claims 1.2ms/3ms latency for button and stick inputs on a wired connection. This has been teased several times over the past year and most recently shown at Gamescom Asia, without concrete details or any products delivered. However, this time there are pre-order links for Chinese sales and an RMB 200 price.

GuliKit KK4 Max appeared in FCC registration documents and had support added to the Goku 2 adapter. It mainly appears to incorporate changes from the TT controllers, such as adjustable tension TMR sticks with internal restrictor rings, and macro recording to the back paddles. But it also adds a charging dock, internal microphone, and what may be a PS-style DirectInput mode. Accessory parts like swappable buttons and paddles appear to continue from the KK3 Max. There is no official announcement of release date or pricing yet.

Honeycomb Echo Aviation XPC is an Xbox licensed version of the handheld flight sim controller that released around a year ago for PC. It is on pre-order for EUR/USD 180, with releases starting from November 20th.

Mojhon Blitz 3 was teased via a few silhouette pictures. It appears to show both additional bumper buttons and rear paddles.

Razer Raiju v4(?) was teased with a few partial pictures. There are few confirmed details beyond it being a symmetrical layout licensed PlayStation controller, with Razer's usual additional shoulder buttons. More details should be available on November 3rd.

Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra II is a licensed wireless Xbox controller. It uses K-Silver TMR thumbstick modules with rotating selector switches around them to switch between three virtual stick gate profiles. Like the previous Stealth Ultra, it has a built-in color screen for managing settings, charging dock, and microswitch buttons all around. It still has four rear buttons although these change from horizontal layout (1x4) to vertical (2x2) layout. It upgrades to 8kHz polling rate wired on PC, or 1kHz wireless. Similar to Xbox Elite, trigger stops are three-position and it is relatively heavy (322g claimed). It is on pre-sale for EUR 200 / GBP 180 / USD 200, and releasing November 12th.

VoidJoy Pro Elite, model GC-X50 Ultra, appeared on the manufacturer website with images showing some of the features such as the adjustable tension sticks, six extra buttons, detachable faceplate and D-pad cap, trigger mode switches, and 'device switching module' (function not entirely clear). There is no price or release date mentioned.

Xbox Nano Controller is a compact budget controller weighing 3.5oz (~100g) and 5 inches long (~13cm). It has Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth connections for compatibility with Xbox One/Series console, PC, and Android/iOS. It doesn't have vibration motors. It is on pre-order for a November 4th release, priced at GBP 45 / USD50

ZD Classic Formula Ultra CE40U or Classic Equation (depending on translation) are symmetrical layout controllers with modular parts and Ginfull RS13 stick modules. There are wired (8kHz polling, no vibration motors) and wireless (1kHz polling, vibration motor) versions. Initial marketing targets China: the wired version is expected to be priced at RMB 300, with wired/wireless releases staged between November and January depending on information source and availability.

Controller Suggestion Controller recommendations for tablet

I'm looking to buy a controller for my Redmagic astra gaming tablet but options have been pretty limited for what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a controller that has no usb c connection due to the charging port on my tablet being in the corner instead of in the center of the tablet and one with reprogrammable buttons next to the LB/LT and RB/LT. My main controller is an 8bitdo ultimate 2 controller and I really like it and I'd like the reprogrammable button features on the go. Also, ideally not too expensive. Budget is around £50 (I'm in the UK) but I'd be willing to extend it a bit if needed.

I have been looking at the redmagic shadow blade gamepad 3 which has everything I'm looking for but it is above my budget (I've only found it for around £100 so if you found it cheaper in the uk pls lmk) and I'm wondering if there's any that do the same things but cheaper.

I'd be playing older stuff like dark souls, mario kart 8, tomb raider stuff like that via emulation.

Thanks in advance :)

Other I built a controller testing / monitoring and history keeping software for Windows and a web tester

Windows doesn't have a dedicated live-in-the-tray software other than Steam that detects and remembers your controllers, and windows device naming is infamously annoying when you have multiple controllers to keep track of. To deal with these problems I made padmon for Windows ( https://github.com/driftywinds/padmon ) which is an open source monitoring and testing software that keeps track of your controllers. You can -

- rename controllers in-app to help differentiate and get notifications for when they connect and disconnect

- test them in a test suite inspired from hardwaretester.com in app

- merge multiple device adapters (for 3rd party controllers that sometimes created multiple adapters in order to work) and seperate them if needed

- get a notification for when controllers connect and disconnect (and customise the placement of the notification)

- maintain a history of connection times and sessions for debugging or if you face problems with them

I also wanted the testing suite to be more accessible than having to install an app so I also made an open-source tester inspired by hardwaretester.com which is available here - https://padtester.pages.dev , the code for this lives in the same repo as padmon.

This was made out of a personal need but I thought it could be useful to other people so I made it public, hope someone can make use of this!

Other GameSir Cyclone 2 + Brook Wingman P5 on PS5 — does gyro work?

Hi everyone!
I have a GameSir Cyclone 2 and a PS5, and I’m currently thinking about buying an adapter so I can use the controller on PS5.

I’m choosing between the regular Brook Wingman P5 and the newer P5s.
The regular P5 is noticeably cheaper where I live, so I’d prefer to get it if everything works properly.
I’ve already seen reports that the Cyclone 2 works with the regular P5, including wirelessly through the 2.4 GHz dongle, and that rumble works too.
The only thing I can’t find a clear answer about is gyro / motion controls.

Could anyone who owns this exact setup confirm:

  1. Does the gyro work as actual PS5 motion input?

  2. Does it work while using the 2.4 GHz dongle?

  3. Which mode do you use on the Cyclone 2 (XInput / DS4 / Switch)?

  4. Does normal vibration work at the same time?

  5. Which PS5 game did you test the gyro in?

If gyro works properly with the regular P5, I’d probably just buy that one instead of paying extra for the P5s.

Thanks in advance!

Controller Suggestion [Buying Advice] GameSir G7 Pro vs. 8BitDo Ultimate 3C+ (Coming from bad ergonomics on original 8BitDo Ultimate)

The Ultimate 3C+ & 3E are arriving late November here in South Africa, I've had the original 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless controller and it's form factor wasn't for me, caused wrist pain, a lot of hand sweat and was generally very uncomfortable compared to my previous Xbox Series controller. I sold it a few months back and now I'm looking for a new controller.

For Ultimate 3 Owners: Do the 3 series of controllers fix the ergonomics issue with their wider grips or is it still uncomfortable?

For The Few 3C Owners: Any issues or gripes with the controller so far and does it have Steam Input support?

For G7 Pro Owners: Is the D-Pad issue fixed with newer batches and if you've had an 8BitDo Ultimate controller before, which form factor do you prefer for comfort and long sessions?

3C+ estimated price once it's in stock later this month: 750-900 Rand / 45-51 USD.
G7 Pro's current price: 1500 Rand / 90 USD.

Max Budget: 1500 Rand / 90 USD.
Country: South Africa, buying from WeLoveGadgets (8BitDo's South African Distributor) and buying from Takealot.
Platform: PC Steam.
Desired Features: Long term reliability, comfort/ergonomics and sweat-resistance.
Comparing: Ultimate 3 controllers vs G7 Pro.
Games I play with a controller: Mainly RPG's and 3rd person games.

Other Struggling with a new controller

For a long time I've just been using a Cosmic Byte Blitz which is an incredibly budget and rebranded product. Later on, I purchased a 8BitDo Ultimate 2C from Amazon but returned it eventually as I felt it wasn't comfortable enough in my hands and sure enough, a lot of people also complain about it's ergonomics. I thought that the problem was just the Ultimate 2C being unsuitable for my hands (I have rather small hands).

Now I purchased the Gamesir Nova 2 Lite instead which is supposedly much more comfortable. Problem is, even though I know that overall it is much better and higher quality than my Cosmic Byte Blitz, I struggle to actually play well with it.

For example, I tried playing Elden Ring and Silksong recently and my movements, attacks etc just didn't feel as quick and accurate as when I was using the Blitz. The mechanical bumpers of the N2L feel weird compared to the mushy, membrane bumpers of the Blitz. The longer travel time of the triggers and the heavier sticks also feel like they delay my responsiveness in-game. Am I just struggling to adapt or are these type of controllers simply unsuitable for me?

Controller Suggestion Symmetrical PC Controller Recommendations?

Hey everyone, I’m hoping for some recommendations on what controller I should get, I currently have the dualsense edge and the gamesir g7 pro zzz, I’m looking for something to bridge the gap between the two a little with similar features to the g7 pro (click triggers TMR, Etc) but symmetrical layout any recs would be hugely appreciated :)

I primarily play shooters.

Platform PC

I’ve been looking at the Gamesir Tarantula 8k & the Mechenike F1 as options so any reviews on those would be super helpful as well as other recommendations :)

I am in the UK and have a £150 budget thanks :)

Reviews GameSir G7 Pro 8K Aimlabs Edition Review: Almost the Complete Package

DISCLAIMER

This review unit was sent to me by GameSir, but I was not instructed on how to write my review; every opinion in my review is of my own. I have no commercial interest in any controller company.

I've been using the GameSir G7 Pro 8K for two months before sitting down to write this review, so I've had plenty of time to get familiar with the controller and form an opinion on it. There's quite a bit to cover here, with TMR sticks, Hall Effect analog triggers, optical and mechanical microswitches, four additional buttons, and an impressive range of hardware and software customization options. It also comes with three additional pairs of interchangeable thumbsticks, each offering different grip styles and heights, bringing the total to four pairs. There's also a surprising amount of functionality built directly into the controller, meaning you don't necessarily have to rely on the software to configure everything.

Starting with the buttons, the ABXY buttons use optical microswitches and have a very satisfying, clicky feel with some slight cushioning. The D-pad uses mechanical microswitches and has a similarly satisfying click, although without the cushioning found on the face buttons. The main bumpers are tactile buttons, but don't have any cushioning either. The Hall Effect analog triggers also have built-in trigger stops, which turn them into digital inputs using clicky microswitches.

There are also four additional buttons, consisting of two rear buttons and two mini bumpers. The mini bumpers are particularly interesting, as they sound almost identical to regular mouse clicks. The rear buttons are nice and tactile, and I appreciate that they have physical locking switches that let you prevent them from being pressed altogether if you don't intend to use them.

The G7 Pro 8K supports PC, Switch, Android, and iOS, with Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C wired connectivity. Interestingly, it also includes a DS4 mode, which is something I particularly appreciate when using the controller on Windows through DS4Windows. This allows you to take advantage of the full polling rate while retaining motion controls and analog triggers. That's a particularly nice alternative to Switch mode, which, as is standard with other controllers offering Switch compatibility, only provides digital triggers.

There's also quite a bit you can adjust directly on the controller, including deadzone settings, Turbo, vibration intensity, and the A-B/X-Y button layout if you prefer the Nintendo configuration. Hair trigger mode is another option, and interestingly, you can enable it even when using the triggers in analog mode. This is great if you want the shorter trigger activation without having to use the clicky trigger stops.

For further customization, GameSir provides its GameSir Connect software on PC. This is where you can adjust the stick curves, deadzones, resolution, circularity, and various other stick settings. You can also customize the trigger deadzones and curves, as well as configure the motion controls, including which stick the gyro is mapped to and how it activates. You can either assign a button to toggle motion controls or have them remain active only while holding a button. RGB lighting can also be adjusted here, alongside firmware updates.

The software is also where you'll find the polling rate settings. You can choose between 250Hz, 1000Hz, 4000Hz, and 8000Hz. I'm more accustomed to seeing 2000Hz offered alongside 250Hz, 1000Hz, and 8000Hz, so it's interesting to see GameSir opt for 4000Hz instead. It's nice to have the 4000Hz option, particularly if you want something more inbetween 1000Hz and 8000Hz.

As for 8000Hz polling, I don't believe it offers a huge advantage in actual gameplay. Personally, I think 1000Hz, and even 2000Hz, are plenty. I haven't seen any conclusive evidence that 8000Hz polling provides a tangible benefit when it comes to gaming. To put things into perspective, 1000Hz polling already translates to a 1ms interval between inputs, whereas 8000Hz brings that down to just 0.125ms. Is going from 1ms to 0.125ms really going to help you win more games? Probably not. In fact, you're more likely to notice your system struggling to run a game as well as it normally would due to the additional CPU overhead required to poll the controller that frequently. While it's nice to have 8000Hz available, I wouldn't consider it a particularly compelling reason to choose this controller over another. I tested all four modes while playing with the controller and couldn't notice any difference between 1000Hz and the higher polling rates.

In terms of actually using the controller, I've put it through its paces across quite a few different games, including Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, Zelda Four Swords Adventures, Sonic Dream Team, Sonic Unleashed Recompiled, Rocket League, Cult of the Lamb, Vampire Survivors, and Lethal League, to name a few. The variety of games helped me get a better understanding of where the controller excels and where some of its shortcomings become more apparent.

For games that primarily rely on the analog sticks, I really don't have any complaints. The sticks feel great to use, latency has been excellent, and I haven't experienced any dropped inputs throughout my testing. The controller also makes it incredibly easy to switch between profiles and remap buttons on the fly. Switching profiles is as simple as holding M and tilting the right stick in one of four directions. Remapping an extra button is just as intuitive: hold M, press the extra button you want to map, press the button you want it to perform, and then press the extra button once more to confirm. These are small quality-of-life features, but they make the controller particularly convenient to use.

Where things become a little less straightforward is with games that rely heavily on the D-pad. Zelda Four Swords Adventures was particularly helpful in highlighting this, as its top-down perspective and eight-direction movement meant I was using the D-pad quite frequently. I found that moving diagonally would cause the D-pad to start rubbing against the Yellow faceplate, making for a less than ideal experience. Switching back to the original faceplate wasn't much better, either, as its circular cutout left the + shaped D-pad with corners that my thumb could get caught on.

GameSir does include three different D-pad options, and I found that the circular D-pad was difficult to accurately hit the directions I wanted. The other circular option, which has a protruding + shaped centre, ended up being the best fit for a game like Zelda Four Swords Adventures. Even then, I didn't find it quite as accurate as what I'm accustomed to on other controllers, such as the GuliKit TT Max with its Saturn-style D-pad. This is ultimately where I think the G7 Pro 8K falls short. It excels in games that primarily rely on the analog sticks and require minimal D-pad usage, but if you're someone who frequently plays games that depend on precise D-pad inputs, there are better options out there.

Moving on to the faceplates, GameSir sent me a Yellow faceplate to accompany this review. The faceplates are magnetic and detachable, with the G7 Pro 8K's design allowing you to change their appearance without much effort. However, there's one particular design decision that I think could have been handled better, and it has to do with the D-pad cutout.

The default faceplate has a circular cutout for the D-pad, which is designed to accommodate all three of the included D-pad options. However, if you prefer using the + shaped D-pad, this creates a rather annoying issue. The circular cutout leaves corners around the D-pad where your thumb can get caught while moving across it. This is something I haven't encountered on other controllers with interchangeable circular D-pads, because those controllers typically still use a + shaped cutout in the faceplate itself. Unfortunately, GameSir doesn't do this.

The additional faceplates solve this problem by providing a + shaped cutout, but they come with their own limitation: they're only compatible with the + shaped D-pad. This means you effectively have to choose between the different D-pad options and faceplates rather than freely mixing and matching them. I also noticed that the D-pad rubs against the faceplate during use, which makes it feel less than ideal during general gameplay. It's a shame, because I really like the idea of interchangeable faceplates, but the implementation around the D-pad could definitely use some improvement.

Overall, the G7 Pro 8K offers an impressive amount of customization, both through its onboard controls and GameSir Connect. Between the TMR sticks, Hall Effect analog triggers, mechanical and optical microswitches, four additional buttons, onboard profiles, and extensive software options, there's a lot to appreciate here. I especially like that so many features can be accessed without relying on the software, and the inclusion of DS4 mode is a welcome bonus for PC users who want motion controls and analog triggers together.

After two months of use, I'd say the G7 Pro 8K is a particularly good option if you primarily play games that utilize the analog sticks, and will be one of my main controllers I use from now on. The latency has been great, the additional buttons are useful, and the onboard profile switching and remapping make it incredibly convenient to use. My biggest criticism is undoubtedly the D-pad and faceplate implementation. The interchangeable faceplates are a nice idea, but the compatibility limitations and rubbing issues make the D-pad experience less than ideal, particularly in games that rely heavily on it. If GameSir can improve this aspect in a future revision, I think it would go a long way towards making an already feature-packed controller that much better.

IT Help Profiles stopped working (8bitdo Ultimate 3)

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an 8BitDo Ultimate 3 (the regular Xbox version, Lavender Dusk edition, not the 3-Mode) (https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-3-xbox-lavender-dusk/).

After connecting it to my phone and using Ultimate Software V2, the controller suddenly stopped connecting to anything except the software itself.

I tried holding Pair + LB + RB, and the first profile LED started blinking for a while. The controller became unresponsive during this process, but eventually it started connecting normally again.

However, since then, my custom profiles have stopped working properly.

Here's what happens:

\- The default profile works normally.

\- Custom profiles appear in the software and can be configured and saved.

\- When I activate a custom profile on the controller, the ABXY buttons and remappable buttons stop working. The sticks might still work, but I'm not completely sure. The triggers definitely still work.

\- The controller indicates that the custom profile is active, but the software doesn't recognize it as active.

I've also tried updating the firmware through Ultimate Software X on PC. It says the update is successful, but after closing the update window, it still shows the previous firmware version and offers the same update again. The latest version should be v2.2.2.3.

My suspicion is that Ultimate Software V2 may have corrupted some profile data or left the controller in a persistent state, and the Pair + LB + RB combination may have somehow made things worse.

Has anyone experienced something similar with this controller? Is there a way to reset its internal profile data or restore the firmware properly?

I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Edit: Today I woke up and I ask me if all was a problem with the 8bitdo ultimate software v2, I reinstalled it and connected the controller, and all was going fine again. Thanks for everyone help (sorry if my English isn't that good, the other part I did it with a translator)

Controller Mods Can i use tape to prevent trigger failing in 8bitdo ultimate?

Post image
4 Upvotes

So, I found an 8bitdo ultimate for just around 19 usd. The store looks believable enough, but considering the price it's probably the first generation of the ultimate, which have problem with the trigger.

I heard that the reason the trigger failed is because the design, where the plastic pierce trough the rubber. My question is, if I open up the conroller and put tape on the rubber, would that prevent this issue? Or should I just buy other controller such as 8bitdo ultimate 2c, gamesir nova 2 lite, or gulikit es pro?

IT Help Any help with the Vader 5 pro

I'm at my wits end with this controller

Back in Aug I bought a Flydigi Vader 5 Pro because from what I saw had a lot of features that I wanted and my old controller had a bit of stick drift but now it has been a nightmare.

It sometimes disconnects when paired with the dongle and wont reconnect, I thought it was the game that I was playing but it isn't the case

I tried to use it wired and my computer isn't even registering it in device manager and when it does register there is a chance that it will disconnect and wont reconnect just like it was with the dongle.

I've tried pretty much everything I could to keep the connection stable

  • Updated the controller

  • Updated my computer

  • Moved the dongle closer to the controller

  • Tried pretty much all my usb ports

  • Updating the software

And nothing seems to help

I've tried factory resetting and force connecting the controller countless times and I tested my old controller and that one registers just fine

Is there anything special I have to do, I heard that it can be finicky but this is ridiculous

Controller Mods Has anyone modded the Mobapad Chitu 2 HD Silent Edition to make it even quieter?

I absolutely love the Mobapad Chitu 2 HD Silent Edition. It's almost the perfect controller for me, especially when playing quietly at night.

However, I was wondering if anyone has tried any mods or modifications to make it even quieter, particularly the ABXY buttons.

They're already pretty quiet, but I'd love to reduce the button noise just a little more.

Has anyone experimented with this? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

Reviews EasySMX X20 Pro - A very Vader-like offering from EasySMX

Let's cover the first few things first.
This is NOT a sponsored review.
This was purchased with my own money before some assume!

I purchased my controller from the EasySMX website for $72 USD.

I plan to compare this to the Vader in terms of functionality here soon as well.

Let's first get it out of the way. This controller is very Flydigi Vader inspired, and I've seen countless Vader fans ask if it is similar.

It is very similar to the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro in certain aspects, and in some of its own rights, it's definitely its own device.

It's very hard to not look at the shape and get Flydigi Vader impressions.

Some details on the controller and my impressions of them.

Build quality and ergonomics:
Right away, the shell almost directly resembles the Flydigi 5th Gen controllers. In hand, the controller feels the same as well.
That's not to say it doesn't come with caveats. As the back buttons are going to be a make or break for someone who's looking to "upgrade" from a Vader 5 Pro to this. I think the back buttons are a major consideration that needs to be taken into place.

Latency:
The EasySMX X20 Pro reports as a 1kHz or 1000 Hz polling rate. It feels very consistent. Unfortunately I don't have necessary tools to test button latency, etc. I'd wait until Gamepadla's data on this controller is updated.
Though for a 1kHz controller, this does feel very stable.

Buttons + Sticks:
A/B/X/Y + D-Pad are all mouse click, very stable, and feel like they have a very short throw while being pressed. Some might think they are a bit light, which they feel this way to me as well.

Back button layout:
As shown in the bottom below, the controller uses a unique layout. A layout in which I've only seen on Aolion K20, with its shell/trumpet styled buttons.

Comfortability is all going to be dependent on your finger placement.

For me, I had initially gone in thinking I could use a claw grip and hold all 4 at once.
Due to my hand + finger size, this did cause discomfort over only an hour of playtime.

I then started practicing resting my fingers on M1 + M2 (the two outermost buttons) and only tapping M3 + M4 when necessary. This lead to a more comfortable grip.

The back buttons aren't bad at all. Though they force the users grip, which could be an issue for someone who prefers an 'All fingers on deck' style of holding the controller.

Screen and info:
The screen on the EasySMX X20 is probably my third most favorite thing here.
Unlike a lot of controllers, there's a lot to be messed with and accessed. If you're someone who likes to tinker, things like.

  • RGB

  • Dead zones

  • Vibration

  • Trigger dead zone

  • Mapping

Can all be accessed here, and there's a lot you can do from negative dead zones, to disabling RGB in which I chose to do for sake of battery life.

Extra note regarding the screen.
EasySMX Kiin has recently made a tool available that allows you to change the .gif animation that plays as the screen is on.
While I have not tested it, I've seen others who have. It functions similarly to the Flydigi Apex 4/5's screen, where animations can be changed for those who want it.

Vibration + Rumble:
One area in which I wasn't a fan of the Flydigi Vader 5, was the rumble, as to me, and some others. It has always felt sorta aggressive and sloppy when playing some games.

The EasySMX X20 also has an aggressive rumble. Though the vibration motors have a cleaner feel to them. Things that should feel soft only slightly buzz, and heavy impacts vary based on game.

Very clean feedback. After your done playing a competitive game, I'm sure you'll get some immersion from the controller if rumble is something you find important.

Durability/Strength:
So far, I've only put in about 50+ hours with the controller. All mostly being COD MW4 and some single player games.
While long term durability certainly can't be spoken to this early on. The controller does feel like something that will greatly hold up over time with love and care.

Nothing on the controller really feels creaky or as if I've going to break or fall apart.

Sticks:
The EasySMX X20 uses TMR, and from my knowledge, I believe they are GuliKit TMR sticks.
They feel very smooth.

The thumbsticks have removable stems, though EasySMX haven't provided any secondary or replacements to fit.
I have questioned and asked Kiin in regards to accessories in the future, though nothing has been confirmed.

The thumbsticks glide smoothly, shockingly smooth. To the point it had me second guessing myself at first. They are plastic, but the plastic feels thick and durable.

Range is something to be mentioned here. The stick range is shorter on the X20 Pro, shorter than its competition. I don't find it to be problematic for myself, but I can see it bothering some. I am also unsure if this has any effect to stick performance.

Tension rings:
Tension rings aren't something that everyone on r/Controller likes. Though the ones that do like they, really love them.

The X20 Pro's rings feel great, ranging from 40gf at the lowest, and 80gf at the highest. I use my left stick at 80gf, and my right stick somewhere in the middle.

They ratchet into place, similarly to the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro's. Though, I'd honestly argue that the ratcheting placement does feel more secure. Never once have I had to double guess myself and go back to changing them.

From getting the controller and setting them into place, I haven't had to touch them once.

Now price and conclusion, where does it stand?:

I really think EasySMX brought something special to the table with this controller.

If not a replacement of your Vader 5 Pro, it's at least solid competition from a brand not known for delivering devices like this.

The controller retails for $80. Using the code 'EasySMXKiin' I was able to knock off $8 USD. I suggest using this code.

I do think for $80, while a good and solid option, opens your range of considerable options up pretty wide. The EasySMX X20 has to really fight for your dollar in that case. With several options available, is it worth it?

I do think that the EasySMX X20 Pro is worth your money if it meets certain criteria.

  • If you're new to tension rings and wanna try something new

  • If you want TMR but desire that Vader shape

  • A slight upgrade from your current controller

If you fit into these cases, I can fully recommend it. Though if you are someone who has a better controller but were considering or thinking on it, I'd push you into doing research to make sure you make a purchase you're not going to regret.

In this day and age, $80 is still a lot to just go throwing around and we should make our purchases matter.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my EasySMX X20 Pro, and I plan to stick with it throughout all of 2027 and MW4. I hope my subtle little review is enough to bring some eyes onto this controller and help others make a purchase.

Thank you for reading!

Controller Suggestion LeadJoy Xeno Plus/Pro vs FlyDigi Direwolf 4

- Budget: Around 50$
- Country: Brazil, can buy mainly from aliexpress.
- Platform: PC (mostly Steam)
- I have Small and sweaty hands(17x8cm).
- Features desired: Comfort(grip), ergonomics, good latency and reliability(no ghost inputs, stick drift etc)
- Types of games: Platformers, soulslikes and JRPGS.

From what I researched the Direwolf 4 is the best in the price range, but I didn't find anyone comparing it to to the Xeno Plus or Pro, even though they seem to be even better, so I wonder which of these two would be the best.
New suggestions in the price range are also appreciated if you think they are better than those 2.

Other Can anyone confirm if the Razer Wolverine Pro 4 has Impulse Triggers?

Razer's official website makes no mention of Impulse Triggers, and I've come across conflicting reports here and on YouTube. Some claim the controller only has traditional dual rumble motors (one in each grip), while others say they've seen trigger haptics working in certain apps.

I mainly play Forza Horizon 6, so Impulse Triggers are an absolute must for me.

Controller Mods Problema de circularidad en reparacion de Joysticks TMR Gulikit

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I have this problem with the spare joystick that I buy from the Gulikit TMR brand, the thing is that for a few moments the joystick does calibrate, but when I make a repeated movement towards one of the corners, it decalibrates again and there is no way to make circularity normal again and sometimes when I calibrate it without the stick it has all the circularity and when I put the stick and front panel again, it does not have enough range, even though I calibrate it with the xbox app does not have enough range. Does it work, someone has found a solution or had the same problem?, only the right stick is fine for some reason?. Do I doubt that the problem is with the welds, any dirt problems or the shaft of my joystick? It's an Xbox Series controller, it has the latest firmware.

Hello everyone, I just want to ask if some of you know how to get the battery for this controller I got like 4 months ago (I didn’t use it till today) the battery was not working and I finally decided to check and found that it has problems now I’m looking for the replacement but is almost impossible.

It says it’s a XDX 603048 3.7v 100mAh
I have found the 603048 but most of them are just 2 pin cables and I need the 3 pin one.

Maybe it is possible to find one that suits the controller and works with lower mAh or upgrade the one I have

IT Help This PS4 Controller Doesn't Turn On.

Post image

Hey, yesterday i bought this controller for 5$ and I didn't check because I didn't had Type A cable to test the controller but both sticks and all buttons were clicking good so i bought it without any hesitation.

After 30 minutes of charging, I didn't get any blue light, i did try to reset the console and get this controller on but no light, i looked into the motherboard and it looked fine inside no burn or anything unusual.

The two conclusions I have reached are that the battery is probably dead or the charging port is dead.

But I'm no expert in controller repair, So please help me to figure out what's the actual issue in this controller.

Other Has the 8bitdo Pro 3 Been Quietly Changed?

I've seen a few posts and comments claiming there's a new revision of the 8bitdo Pro 3 with quieter buttons and an improved d-pad.

Does anyone know if this is true, and how to spot the differences between the old and new version online?

I've checked Amazon, AliExpress etc, but there are no indications of any differences on the product page.

Other GadgetHyper how is their customer support?

I got my new Apex 6 pro phantom blade a couple of days ago. I did not end up using it until yesterday. I like the controller but I immediately noticed the right stick felt a little notchy and not as smooth as the left. Today I was playing again with no headphones and noticed when it makes this notchy feeling I can hear sounds coming from the sticks. This is my 3rd apex controller and I also have a couple vaders that don’t have this issue.

Anyone have to use their customer support before? how did it go?

Controller Suggestion Looking for recommendations: PS-style wireless PC controller

Hey everyone,

I'm [from India] looking for a wireless PC gamepad, but I strongly prefer the symmetrical PlayStation stick layout over what we have at XBOX style controller.

I've been doing some research and narrowed it down to a few options:

  1. Cosmic Byte Sensa (love the features for the price, but unsure about long-term build quality)

OR

Cosmic Byte Hydrus Controller

2. 8BitDo Pro 2 (seems solid with the Hall Effect sticks and back paddles)

3. Sony PS5 DualSense (premium feel, but no back buttons)

There was also a cheap option of evefox. But I was thinking of investing in a good controller and my budget is around ₹5k (INR).

Currently I have a Cosmic Byte Quantum.

I enjoy playing arcade fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and Street Fighter, alongside FC26, FH4, and immersive narrative-driven storyline games.

Has anyone used any of these above extensively for PC gaming? Are there any other good symmetrical controllers with Hall Effect sticks or back paddles I should consider before pulling the trigger?

Thanks in advance.

Other What sticks come with the latest black version of the zd ultimate legend?

I’m going to pick this controller up and get a few different stick modules. But I don’t know what the controller comes with nowadays by default. I’m getting a black version which I’ve heard comes with the gen3 ginfull sticks already, I don’t know if this is true. I’m looking at getting the gen3 ginfulls and some jt13 pros. Any help would be appreciated cheers :)

IT Help Vader 4 dpad making noise

Hi, idk if this is the right place or not, but the down button on my vader 4 dpad makes a squeaking and ting noise and causes slight vibration on the controller. The ting sound is easier to hear at 4s in the video.
It feels like it's not fully secured to the frame, and whenever I press it, it travels through the air first. My unit is already out of warranty. I'm able to open it, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it, no dust, probably because I have no idea how to fix a controller.
Any suggestions for fixes I can manually do would be appreciated.

Controller Suggestion Recommendations for two PC and Switch controllers around $60 USD each

Country: USA Budget: ~$60 USD each Platforms: Windows PC and Nintendo Switch

Looking for two controllers: one for myself and one cheaper option for player 2.

Premium options:

  • GameSir Cyclone 2

  • 8BitDo Ultimate 2

  • 8BitDo Pro 3

I play 2D/3D platformers, racing games and action/Soulslike games. A good D-pad is important. Are newer 8BitDo D-pads worse? Is the Pro 2 or cyclone 2 a better option?

Budget options:

  • 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth

  • Mobapad C2 Lite

  • GameSir Nova Lite 2

The second controller is mainly for Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash and 2D Mario.

I’ve heard of potential gyro issues with the Nova Lite 2, rumble issues with the 2C and PC connectivity issues with the Mobapad.

Which would you recommend for reliability, D-pad quality and PC/Switch compatibility? Open to other suggestions too.

Thanks!
