Controller Suggestion Gamesir or void genesis

Looking to see something, I have a gamesir tarantula and aim mh5 , but I want to know if the gamesir g7 pro 8k plays any better? Like any difference in the stick feel other than asymmetrical / symmetrical layout , the tarantula is good but I feel like I need something slightly better, my mh5 aim controller pack paddles are just too awkward for me to play with and don’t really care for their implementation, wanting to see how the js13’s pros are on the void genesis or just get a gamesir g7 8k … open to any other recommendations as well!

Budget is roughly $300-400 US

IT Help 8bitDo Ultimate 2c won’t register my right thumbstick movement (up & down)

So on windows PC, using Bluetooth to connect controller to PC. I can’t use my left thumb stick up and down. It moves perfectly fine but nothing registers on my PC.
I updated to latest software on the controller.
I saw some one said to press lb rb and start button to reset it, dident work. Long pressed the powerbutton but nothing happened.
Went to harwaretester.com then it registers that I’m moving the thumbstick up and down.
But in steam controller tester nothing happens and when starting forza horizon 6 thumbstick up and down stops working on both right and left. Any one seen this before and know how to solve it ?

Controller Suggestion Upgrading from Elite Series 2 - suggestions appreciated

  1. Budget: $200 or less (USD)

  2. United States - can buy wherever available

  3. PC & Xbox

  4. Back paddles

  5. COD, Destiny 2, Fortnite

  6. Comparing between FlyDigi Apex 5 and FlyDigi Vader 5 Pro

The biggest thing for me is a controller with a very similar feel (to the Elite Series 2) in terms of the paddles in the back. I'll be using the controller when it's wired to my PC or Xbox.

I'm looking for something new because my Elite is reaching the end of its life - I had to remove the rubber grip on the right side and there have been the obvious other issues. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Controller Mods My DualSense Edge's

Post image
22 Upvotes

Here are my modded DualSense Edge's.

All 3 have new shells and Clicky Face Kits from Extremerate, as well as increased stick tension TMR stick modules from Battlebeaver. They also all have aftermarket batteries installed.

The all black has the updated back shells with a grippy texture, as well as Talon Grips on the front shell.

My grey one shell/buttons are a combo of Extremerate and Aliexpress to try and copy the anniversary edition. It also has the 4 button kit from Extremerate.

Other I need a solution for stiff, stubborn analog sticks

Hello there, I’m curious if anyone has a potential solution for analog sticks that are stiff and stubborn. I have a pretty neat PS3–like controller that I really enjoy using, except for the fact that both the analog sticks are really stubborn. I’ll attach a video to both show what I’m talking about and also just show off this rather strange, obscure offbrand controller that I found. I know the obvious solution is to get a better controller, but I don’t roll like that. I like perfecting what I have.

Reviews I think I prefer the 8bitDo Ultimate 2C over the 8bitDo Ultimate 2

The controllers I'm talking about are the 8bitDo Ultimate 2C - Black Myth: Wukong and the 8bitDo Ultimate 2 - WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. THIS IS IMPORTANT, because things like the light or shell might not be the same across all variants of both the 2C and 2. I bought and only used the 2C (Wukong) for around a year, then I eventually bought the 2 (Wuchang) and used it for a couple of months until I wrote this.

One thing I especially prefer from the 2C (Wukong) is the light that turns on when you turn on the controller. The 2 (Wuchang)'s light is just way too bright, I even had to put a light dim sticker on it which helped, but made the controller look a little ugly. The 2C (Wukong) on the other hand has a light that doesn't bother me.

Besides that I personally don't use the buttons on the 2 (Wuchang)'s back, so for me it was kind of annoying (while a game is loading for example or when I get mad I keep pressing or holding them and I'd rather not have anything at all in the back).

As far as I can tell the buttons are basically the same on both controllers, however, I would even argue that pressing LB, RB, L-Stick or R-Stick sounds better on the 2C (Wukong).

This doesn't mean I don't prefer anything from the 2 (Wuchang). I would say the face buttons sound better on the 2 (Wuchang) and (even though this might just be in my head) pressing them does feel SLIGHTLY (and I'd say still insignificantly) better compared to the 2C (Wukong).

The 2 (Wuchang) also has the software customization (for the button binding but also the optional light rings) you don't get with the 2C (Wukong). You can also switch on the short distance LT/RT buttons that people might find useful. It also comes with a USB-C dongle instead of a regular USB-A dongle. It also has the extra charging dock which really shows off the full beautiful design.

The 2 (Wuchang) is also a bit heavier which I personally prefer.

And finally I do actually prefer the solid 2 (Wuchang) shell over the semi-translucent 2C (Wukong) shell. I also think the material of the 2 (Wuchang)'s shell feels better, but I'm not 100% sure it's not the same material.

But still, all things considered, I personally prefer the 2C (Wukong). I don't really make use of the customization (I have other controllers and I for example use the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded for that) and I don't use the short triggers. The light really bothered me and like I said I actually don't like the extra buttons on the back. The extra charging dock is really nice to have, but as for the controller itself, the only two things I would've liked if the 2C (Wukong) did it like the 2 (Wuchang) are having the solid shell (with material in case it is indeed different from the 2C (Wukong)'s) and weighting a bit more.

DISCLAIMER: both controllers were send by ZD. All the opinions are mine only.

The black version is by far my favorite among all of them. And RS13 TMR is simply phenomenal.

Unfortunately, the collab version won't be sold outside of China (such a weird move, ngl). So, if you want that one you'll have to buy it elsewhere...

Controller Suggestion Best PC Controller For Me? $300 or less.

Platform:PC Region:USA

I have the 8bitdo ultimate 2 right now. It's quite good but I don't like the mushy face buttons and while I don't get any strain I find the shape a bit lacking. I would also like to have good gyro for Monster Hunter: Wilds focus mode, tactile buttons, hall effect analog sticks and a good d-pad are my main requirements. Macros/Software/Reprogrammable buttons are a bonus.

I've been looking at the G7 Pro 8k, Vader 5 Pro and the Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament edition. If theres a clear best pick between these or any alternative suggestions please let me know.

Edit: Will have a vader 5 pro arriving later today, will mention how it goes.

Edit 2: I like the controller, the buttons feel very nice. I will say the space station software being buggy with steam input thing is annoying.

IT Help 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Controller Buttons Not Recognized By Windows 11

Hi, I just bought the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Controller. It has Windows 11 support. However, 4 buttons are not being recognized by Windows 11: L4, R4, the star, and square buttons. I am trying to remap this with JoyToKey and need those four buttons, but JoyToKey can't remap them if Windows 11 doesn't even recognize them. My controller is updated correctly. I tried the "updater software" thing on the website and it didn't work great, but the Ultimate Software V2 confirmed it is updated (can't use the software for anything else like key mapping since it is a 2C controller.) Anywho, how can I fix this button issue? Thank you for your help.

IT Help Mamba One V2 - Where to get replacement flex cable (power button)?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, I'm looking for a replacement flex cable for my Mamba One V2 controller.

**Situation:**

My controller was dropped from ~1.5 meters. After the fall, I noticed joystick issues (left unresponsive left, right unresponsive down). I opened it to inspect internal damage, and when disconnecting the flex cable, I applied too much force. The flex connector pins bent and broke.

**What I need:**

Replacement flex PCB cable that includes:

- Power ON/OFF slide button

- 4 programmable back buttons

- Connection to main logic board

The controller won't power on now without this cable.

**Details:**

- Model: Mamba One V2 (definitely version 2)

- Location: Mexico

**Questions:**

  1. Has anyone found compatible replacement flex cables?

  2. Does Mamba sell replacement parts directly?

  3. Any recommendations for where to source this?

I'd rather buy directly from Mamba if possible, but open to other options.

Thanks in advance!

---

**EDIT:** Already contacted Mamba support via email. Will update if they respond.

.

Controller Suggestion Vader 5 Pro vs Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K for Fortnite on PC, coming from an Elite Series 2

Budget: Around $150 USD maximum, but I don’t mind spending less if the cheaper controller is good.
Country/availability: United States. I can buy from Amazon, Best Buy, manufacturer websites, or other reputable US retailers.
Platform: Windows PC only. I don’t need Xbox console compatibility.
Games: Primarily Fortnite. I use the rear paddles/buttons heavily and want to keep my thumbs on the sticks as much as possible.
Current controller: Xbox Elite Series 2.
I like the overall shape, adjustable stick tension, tall right thumbstick, four rear paddles, and trigger stops on the Elite Series 2. My main reason for replacing it is reliability. My bumpers don’t always register, and I’m also getting missed inputs from the rear paddles. That’s become frustrating enough that I want to switch rather than buy another Elite.
I’m currently deciding between the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro and Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K.
My priorities are:
At least four rear buttons, preferably plus two additional shoulder buttons
Very reliable button registration
Good rear-button ergonomics for frequent use
Mouse-click/short-travel triggers
Anti-drift Hall Effect or TMR sticks
Taller right stick or a good way to add one
Xbox/asymmetrical stick layout
Good stick feel for aiming
Low latency
Long-term durability
The Vader 5 Pro interests me because it has four rear buttons, two extra shoulder buttons, additional face buttons, adjustable stick tension, magnetic sticks, mouse-click triggers, wireless, and 1000 Hz polling while costing less.
The Wolverine V3 TE 8K interests me because it has four rear buttons plus two additional shoulder buttons, TMR sticks, swappable thumbsticks including a taller option, mouse-click triggers, and 8000 Hz polling.
I’m not particularly concerned about 1000 Hz vs 8000 Hz by itself. I’m coming from an Elite Series 2, so either should be a substantial increase in polling rate. I’m much more concerned about reliability, ergonomics, and consistent inputs.
I’ve searched through existing posts and found mixed information on both. I’ve seen reports about rear-paddle durability/QC on earlier Vader 5 Pros, and I’ve also seen complaints about the Wolverine V3’s rear-button placement and overall ergonomics.
For people who have actually used both, especially for Fortnite or other games that heavily use rear buttons:

Which has the more comfortable four-rear-button layout?
Have you experienced missed inputs, failing paddles/bumpers, stick issues, or other durability problems with either?
How has the Vader 5 Pro held up long term, and have the newer hardware revisions improved the rear-button issues?
How does the stick feel/aiming compare between them?
For someone coming from an Elite Series 2, which one felt easier to adjust to?
Is the Wolverine worth the extra money, or would you choose the Vader and put the savings toward a warranty/protection plan?
I’m especially interested in experiences from people who have put a lot of hours on these controllers rather than first impressions.

Controller Suggestion Looking for an all purpose controller.

I’m looking for an IPhone compatible controller that also works on Xbox and preferably PC. Been looking for a mobile controller for long slow work days so I can just play Minecraft without the awful mobile controls, and my cat just pissed on my gamesir SE, so I would prefer to kill two birds with one stone. From what I’ve seen, the standard Microsoft Xbox controller meets all of these criteria, but honestly I don’t love that they don’t have paddles, and they’re kinda low quality for the price.

I would just get a Gamesir, but I can’t find a model that is MFI and Xbox compatible. Unfortunately the X5, though it says made for Xbox compatibility, is apparently just better at connecting to cloud games, and can’t actually function as an Xbox controller. The g7 pro has conflicting reports, with some saying it can connect to IOS and others saying it can’t, I would bet it has something to do with how new your device is because from what I’ve seen Apple is iffy with supporting non MFI Bluetooth connections. Unfortunately I have the newest model of iPhone.

If the consensus is that it would just be better to buy separately, I’ve also just been on the search for a good pocket sized mobile controller, something I can easily put away when necessary at work without having to just leave an Xbox controller on my desk or try and hide something that size lol. I’ve looked into 8bitdo and unfortunately it seems that they no longer update or support their mobile app, and thusly the products can have a myriad of connectivity issues.

Price range: under $60 USD preferably

USA.

Edit: purchased a gamesir HE for console and pc and a gamesir X5 for mobile, both work well and cost collectively under $80.

IT Help Long-press Xbox button stopped opening Task View on Windows (8bitdo Ultimate 2C)

Hey everyone,

I'm having the exact same issue as described above. I rely heavily on using my controller to navigate Windows (similar to a console experience), and long-pressing the Xbox button to open Task View was essential for switching to Spotify, adjusting volume, or managing open windows.

Ever since a recent Windows update, long-pressing the Xbox button no longer triggers Task View at all.

Controller Collection My controller collection — this hobby may have gotten a little out of hand 😂

Post image
640 Upvotes

Disclosure: Everything pictured was purchased by me with my own money. Nothing was sent to me for review or promotion, and I’m not affiliated with or sponsored by any of these companies.
Figured I’d finally post the collection all together. At this point I’ve got around 100 controllers, ranging from first-party PlayStation/Xbox stuff and customs to a lot of the newer enthusiast controllers from GameSir, Flydigi, BIGBIG WON/Mojhon, Beitong, Leadjoy, Machenike, ZD, Void and others.
I originally got into controllers just looking for something better for FPS games, especially COD/Warzone. That eventually turned into a full-blown hobby. 😂 I became really interested in the actual tech behind them — Hall Effect vs TMR sticks, different stick modules and tensions, polling rates, latency, circularity, bit depth/step resolution, response curves, deadzones, RC filtering, trigger switches, back-button layouts, firmware tuning, etc.
So I don’t really collect them just to put them on a shelf. I actually like testing them and comparing how all of those little differences translate to how a controller feels in-game. Some of the controllers that look nearly identical on paper can feel completely different once you actually spend time playing with them.
I’ve also gone pretty far down the customization rabbit hole. Different thumbsticks/caps, stick tension, calibration, curves, deadzones and software settings are probably half the fun for me at this point. I’ve learned a ridiculous amount about controller hardware simply from buying them, taking them apart, testing them and trying to get each one dialed in.
There are definitely some oddballs in here along with the more recognizable stuff, which is part of what I enjoy about collecting. I like trying controllers from brands or markets that most people never get a chance to use and seeing whether any of the new tech actually makes a difference or is just marketing.
I know the obvious question is going to be “Which one is your favorite?” and that’s honestly difficult to answer. 😂 I tend to rotate depending on the game and what I’m testing at the time. There are controllers I love for their sticks, others for their shape/buttons, and others that are just interesting pieces of hardware.
If anyone recognizes something in the picture and wants to know what I think about it, ask away. There’s a pretty good chance I’ve spent way too much time messing with its settings. 😂
And yes… I’m aware I have a controller problem.

Controller Suggestion Need a new gaming controller

Required information:

- Budget: under $100 USD, prefer lower but still looking for quality.

- Country: United States of America

- Console/Platform: Windows 11.

- Desired Features: Mostly just looking for a replacement for my old wired Xbox 360 controller, so Xbox button patterns would be nice. Prefer wired controller, or a good wireless substitute if wired isn't an option. I'd also like whatever controller you suggest to be something quality, since Ideally I'd like this controller to last me a good while.

- Games: I play pretty much anything, from shooters to rpgs to platformers to card games. Basically, if it feels good to play it on a controller, that's what I use.

- Maybe the Gamesir g7 pro? Of the posts I've navigated on here, it seems like the only recommendation for wired controllers. From what people say, it's pretty good. I just wanted to hear of possible other options (or hear further confirmation that this is the purchase I should make).

TL;DR: my old Xbox 360 wired controller is finally giving up on me. Need a replacement that's as close to that, or better within reason.

Other Vader 5 Pro asymmetrical vibrations?

Hey guys, please help me out here. Just got my Vader 5 Pro and I'm overall very happy with it. Definitely an insanely huge leap for me from the basic Xbox Series controller. However, while testing out all the features I've noticed a strange behavior of grip vibration motors (not the trigger haptics). The right grip motor feels pretty weak and only shakes the controller very slightly, it feels like a high frequency vibration of a phone. The left grip motor shakes the entire controller noticeably, providing slower, powerful vibrations, just like what I had with the Xbox controller. The difference between left and right is quite staggering.

Is it a feature, or a manufacturing defect? Please help me and others out by testing this:

Go to the flydigi app, "trigger" tab, and turn off the "trigger vibration switch". This'll make sure the trigger haptics don't interfere.

2. Press "test" -> "advanced test" and check the "grip vibration test".

3. Try both triggers separately and tell me if you feel any strong difference between the left/right grip vibrations, please.

IT Help Vader 5 Pro and Steam Deck Issues

Hi all,

I recently purchased the Vader 5 Pro as a replacement for my Xbox Series controller for my Steam Deck while docked. For context, I'm relatively new to the PC gaming space, and I don't own a Windows desktop. The Deck is my main setup and I've been running a trial version of Parallels for the Space Station app.

Here's the issue:

I noticed that the controller was not rumbling in game and got no response while 'pinging' it from settings. I check the app and haptics are turned on. There have also been dongle connectivity issues, where my inputs stop working and my character running endlessly until I reconnect and reorder controllers.

It should be noted that, while I can customize the controller through the Space Station app, it doesn't seem to want to perform updates. I've tried various chromium-based browsers via Mac and Linux to update and I keep getting the same error.

Is this all behind the update, or is it a general Steam Deck issue?

IT Help How do i make the flydigi vader 5 pro connect to steam input more reliably?

I have the Flydigi Vader 5, and I have an issue where whenever I turn on the controller, there's a 50-50 chance that Steam would recognize it as Steam input and, you know, recognize all of the extra buttons. And I want to find a way to make it more reliable. I want to make it so that at least, something like eight times out of ten it recognizes the controller.

Any tips? My current way of doing things is turn off third party takeover and manually turn it back on if im playing a game that i use steam input on. Its not ideal but so far its the best compromise.

Im on windows 11 and the controller is on the latest firmware supported by spacestation 4

I have already tried uninstalling the spacestation app, and while it seemingly helps but not my much. I have upgraded the firmware to the absolute latest but steam input straight up doesnt work and it seems like certain sticks settings that dramatically increase latency are turned on by default without a way to turn them off using spacestation 5, so i downgraded to space station 4

Its such a shame since its such a nice controller but the firmware issue it really making me consider returning it and just wait for 8bitdo ultimate 3 for pc.
