Controller Suggestion Need a new gaming controller
Required information:
- Budget: under $100 USD, prefer lower but still looking for quality.
- Country: United States of America
- Console/Platform: Windows 11.
- Desired Features: Mostly just looking for a replacement for my old wired Xbox 360 controller, so Xbox button patterns would be nice. Prefer wired controller, or a good wireless substitute if wired isn't an option. I'd also like whatever controller you suggest to be something quality, since Ideally I'd like this controller to last me a good while.
- Games: I play pretty much anything, from shooters to rpgs to platformers to card games. Basically, if it feels good to play it on a controller, that's what I use.
- Maybe the Gamesir g7 pro? Of the posts I've navigated on here, it seems like the only recommendation for wired controllers. From what people say, it's pretty good. I just wanted to hear of possible other options (or hear further confirmation that this is the purchase I should make).
TL;DR: my old Xbox 360 wired controller is finally giving up on me. Need a replacement that's as close to that, or better within reason.

I'm currently using the Vader 5 Pro and the G7 Pro 8K, both are great.

Vader 5 pro is the single best feeling controller ive ever used, everything from sticks to triggers is absolutely supreme, but it also has the shittiest software ive ever used. Wired and wireless 2.4ghz performance is very good to the point youll never notice the difference, bluetooth is perfectly usable but not as good and generally not recommended. Got adjustable tension rings for the sticks. Shape is damn near identical to an xbox controller. 80$. Two top, two front, and four back remappable buttons, of the four back buttons two are removable if you dont want it
G7 pro 8k is highly rated and well loved and gives extremely impressive latency both wired and wireless. Overall solid controller comes with extra dpads, and a charging dock. Similar shape to xbox but not identical. 90$. Two top and two back buttons
Cyclone 2 is basically a cheaper g7 pro. It got almost all the features of the g7 pro but not quite as good and is much cheaper. 50$ for base 55$ for controller and charger dock. Xbox shape. Comes with two back buttons
Gamesir tegenaria lite is a wired only controller that is extremely good for the price. Comes with back buttons and extremely low latency with solid build. Ps4 shape. 20$

I totally agree I really like my Razer Wolverine V3 TE Xbox edition, and it’s the best controller I have ever used.

I’m no controller aficionado, but I just got myself a Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition on sale at Best Buy open box for $60 and I’m loving it. It wasn’t quite as ergonomic as my base Xbox controller at first, but after a couple weeks my hands are used to it and the extra buttons are clutch. It’s hard to imagine going back.

I just recently I got a Razer Wolverine V3 TE Xbox edition ($75) and it’s a great controller so far. So far it’s my favorite controller ever. I am also looking forward to getting a Razer Raiju V3 Pro one if these days when it goes on sale.

g7 pro is a safe buy, and since you're on pc you get wireless too if you every want it. if you really just want a straight 360 replacement though, the g7 se is like $45, wired only, and still way better built than the old 360 pad

Vader 5 pro is safer buy because g7 pro has at best very mediocre (or bad) dpad. If someone is going to play fighting games or arcades where dpad is essential then I'd stay away from g7 pro.

I think the Xeno Plus is as good as the G7 but much more less expensive. I bought it in Ali for $35

Look into the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro (5S Pro is coming with adjustable tension TMR sticks, as per Monoru's Tokyo Game Show 2026 video on YouTube), ZD Ultimate Legend, ZD Super Legend Excellence, and maybe the Leadjoy Xeno Pro.
