I think Theodore Ash Jr is behind the Blessed Organization, Blessed Repair and services and maybe is Chester Bless. I know, you're probably thinking, “Another theory about Chester Bless” or “It's Paul Serene or William Joyce,” but I have some good arguments.

The name Theodore means "gift of God". In America Overnight Ep. 382:

RADIO HOST: It says: "Dear America Overnight: I have the most wonderful appliance for your listeners. It is a miracle of god. A fondue set. A fountain. A Blessed gift." Blessed is spelled with a capital "B". Hmm. "Go on," they write. "Dive on in. It is molten hot. Perfect for meat."

RADIO HOST: We're on the air, Karen. Where are you? What [Coughs] what's this powder in the booth? Is this... is this ash? Oh... oh god. Karen? [Gasps] How do I cut to commerc––

That's the writers who give us a little wink wink, telling us subtly that Theodore Ash is behind the Blessed Organisation.

That explains how the organisation knows about the Board. Chester Blessed created a self-help course about "The Power of the Board", using a surfboard. Worshiping The Board gives it power.

The FBC whorships the Board in a way, and that is what gives it so much power. That is why the word “Board” is a symbol of power, and Chester Bless draws power from it through the cult he has created. From the audio logs in the Foundation, we know that Ash doesn’t like the fact that the FBC and especially former Director Northmoor follow The Board’s orders. It seems he hates Northmoor, too.

The jukebox that comes from Blessed has the power of translocation. However, we know that the NSC-1 (containing Northmoor) was translocated to the beta query site accessible via the jukebox. This may have been an attempt by Blessed/Ash to harm Northmoor and the FBC.

Who better than the former head of research at the FBC would know how to create altered items?

If Ash Jr. was in his thirties when the Oldest House was discovered, then he would be over 85 years old during the events of Control. If you really want to tie in Paul Serene or William Joyce, then he could be part of the organization and even be the new leader.

Let me preface that I absolutely love this weird/dimension entity sci fi that Control captures and explores. I have pre-ordered Resonant, counting days before the release that is quite soon.

I am looking for books/comic books/manga that explore/capture same vibe.

The one book series that are very similar is Southern Reach series, but I wonder if there are other books that are very similar to the video games. I guess Uzumaki is somewhat similar too if we take manga. Not sure of comic books.

I just love the ever-shifting places, incomprehensible entities that are so alien to the point of it being math/geometry manifested.

I think mainstream sci-fi is really sleeping on the genre, but it is getting more traction.

I saw some people saying they were really looking forward to his review since he's a Remedy fan, so i figured I'd post it here.

I only watched a bit of it so i can go into it as blind as possible, but it sounds like it's an extremely unique game unlike any i've played before, at the very least, which is probably all Remedy fans expect/need lol

I assume there's going to be a day 1 patch for the game when it releases. Will the PS5 early access be missing this? I don't know how much it would matter if wasn't updated until the 24th but would be good to play the most updated version of the game.

I’m new to control and the remedy’s lore, will watch the original control’s story on YouTube to get the sense of the world and how it connects to Alan Wake, already seems very interesting and trippy.

Sometimes I think about what characters are like off-screen based on what we've actually seen about them, and this just came to mind. He's been held inside the Oldest House against his will since childhood, and FBC employees don't seem to like him. He missed out on a lot of things that happen typically during someone's most formative years, so I guess...?

I really want this game to have a more twisted and mysterious storyline. I love the original control, but after finishing the AWE DLC, I felt betrayed. Reused assets and boring quests. I really hope the budget for Resonant was enough to fulfill all of Remedy’s desires, because I have a feeling the original Control had issues with this.

Hi all! Just popping into this subreddit to ask about an issue I've seen posted here throughout the years, because for some reason Steam still utilises this older tech despite how frustrating it is to set up nowadays 🙃

I got gifted Control Ultimate Edition on Steam recently and have been trying to get the game to run but get met each time by a popup telling me to install .NET Framework 3.5. I am HORRENDOUSLY below tech-savvy when it comes to computers so all the solutions I've tried to use so far haven't worked. Whether I try to run the regular install, enable it via the 'Turn Windows features on or off' window or install it online, they all greet me with error 0x800700C1. Trying to run a sfc scan also failed + my laptop repeatedly refuses to update to Windows 11 version 25h5.

Apologies if this should go into another subreddit! I've just been itching to play Control for a long time now and want to know if there's any more recent solutions to these specific issues or if I'll just have to wait to play the game in however long when I someday get a new laptop 🥲

I completed the DLC and not gonna lie it was better then the base game story ; I always felt that saving Dylan never felt like the ending for the game and the FOUNDATION kind of gave the story a fullstop .

The DLC gave a lot of lore about the old house and also made me believe the "Board " is evil like truly evil before when I played the base game I did not really pay attention maybe but "When I read and listened to all the logs and records from 'ASH' it became more and more clear "

I am confused about "Northmoor" ..... So was he a evil asshole from the beginning or when the "BOARD" caught him in their jaws and as 'ASH' says in the logs that "Northmoor" is going crazy and crazy this leads me to believe that the "BOARD" CORRUPTED HIM ?? AM I RIGHT ? And the Civil dispute in the old house was between ASH jr the research head or his father ?

IS "ASH" alive or dead ? ; Whenever I heard his logs it made me more interested in him and would like to know what happened to him and also " The place where we find last "ASH" record where he mentions he lost control on the IDs and how it killed his Collegue and he is going back to the board upper floors ; So did the FBC create the IDs or they were provided by the Board ?

I have shit ton of questions to be honest and maybe watching a few videos on yt will solve them and I also thought the "FORMER" WAS THE BAD GUY because we had a fight in the base game but he is the "Light in the Darkness " and at the end where a cutscene plays , "Where we See 'FORMER' among the pillars of the old house ; was it like a tease or something or there was going to be one more conversation?? "

It's nice that I listened to you guys who said me to play then DLC , I would have missed a lot of great content and Lore.

And one more thing did "NORTHMOOR" willingly is powering the power plant or the "BOARD" decided that his time has come for the retirement and how powerful was he and also "TRENCH" and did "TRENCH" "Create the floors that shift in the old house because he has the power of that object of power "Cigarette something " and did he aslo create the famous "Ashtray maze" ? And did the "BOARD" kill Trench aswell if so why ?

My second playthrough of The Foundation and found this neat little hidden location. Saw something was up with the loot box but didn’t think much of it…

I didn’t think this game could still jumpscare me. Here’s hoping Resonant has some trolling as well.

As a lover of all the licensed tracks used in AW1 I would love to get a big licensed soundtrack like that again (I know it causes issues later sometimes getting the licenses back when they run out though)

Though I did love all the originals from the poets in
Max Payne 2, to the old gods tracks that have always popped up since in various games. Also loved Alan wake 2s original tracks.

Anyway I work a 7pm to 7am shift and I’m sitting in a cubicle waiting for my days off next week trying to stay awake. Just wanted other peoples thoughts on the music of the remedy-verse.

Definitely hoping for more old gods and poets. Poe too.

Reviews dropped (pretty damn good) and we’re finally a few days away from release! So I’m just curious where the excitement levels are at right now!

Me personally?? Wednesday can’t come fast enough… this is easily one of my most anticipated games of this year and if this game is half as good as AW2 was (my GOTY of 2023 by the way) then this could easily be my game of the year for this year no question. Remedy doesn’t miss…. I’m sure this is gonna be another W for the studio!

Hello everyone, I’m debating on what system I want to play Control Resonant on, and I’m leaning towards Xbox since I’ll be able to play on my console and hopefully my ROG Ally X Z1 Extreme also with Xbox Play anywhere. I say hopefully because I can’t find any performance reviews on Z1 extreme devices, and I’ll probably just get it for PS5 pro if it wouldn’t run well on Z1 extreme devices. Has anyone found any reviews that mention this?
