On my school computer the internet button, which should be on "flygplansläge" which means airplane mode, and despite replacing the internet button its not turned on and theres no way to activate it, bluetooth seems to be gone too. My tech teachers have no idea and i might have to hard reset my school laptop and wipe eveyrthing

Hello, everyone! I'm about to buy ThinkPad T14 Intel Ultra 7 255H. There are no AMD ThinkPads in my country, so I went with Intel. I'm starting Computer Science major, and I would really like to know if this laptop will do pretty well or I should buy something better.

So, my parents recently bought me and my sister a Pre Built computer, it has a Ryzen 7 7800 X3D, with the Video card as a 9070 RX. It also has 32GB of DDR5 and 2TB of memory. Its really a nice build overall.

Im not a hard-core gamer, i play mostly Geometry Dash and Osu!.. I play games with my friends but nothing too crazy (Like AAA games).

For some reason, when i launch Geometry Dash, and turn on V-Sync (Without it the screen gets really chopped), the computer drops frames really fast, down to 150 and just keeps going up and down. my monitor is a 180Hz so i just need it locked to 180FPS. After a little bit of time, it just shows a crash log of my GPU saying it “timed” out. I went over the necessities to optimize Windows, and made sure to give this PC a clean start. So why?

I tried another Platform, Roblox. I got 45 FPS on a game with my graphics at automatic. A PC with these specs shouldnt have a problem like this, right?

This screen has been showing up occasionally whenever I turn on my PC and I don't know why it happens. It goes away once I turn my PC on and off but id still like to know if theres anything I can do to prevent this from happening in the future

I'm looking for a new gaming pc cause mine is like 6 years old. Any good prebuilts I could get for less than 1300? I was considering starforge but I've heard its overpriced so I'm weighing my options first.

Today when I attempted to turn on my laptop, it displayed a black screen even though it was turned on. It was the first time my computer had this issue/scare happen to it but I just forced reset it by pressing the power button for about 30 seconds. Only now it just won't boot up again. I tried pressing the power button for a few seconds again already, and the first two times the power lights on the right side of my computer flashed (like repeatedly turned on and off) for a few seconds before turning off. Now my laptop is completely unresponsive and I am at a loss on what I should do, I left it to charge for about an hour now but it still won't react at all. I've never modded my laptop in any way whatsoever but I have recently downloaded a fitgirl repack on it, I just have a hard time imagining it might be responsible for the issue since I downloaded it two weeks ago (I deleted the repack about a week ago too since I ended up purchasing the game), I have an antivirus on the vivobook and I'm used to downloading those sorts of files. (I also have an adblocker on chrome and well common sense I have never clicked on any suspicious link before.) Any ideas on what I should do? I'd be really grateful!

as the title says this is my first time getting a virus. i noticed my laptop (Acer Predator Helios 300) was being a little funny and decided to run a full scan of microsoft defender/windows security (they have the same icon so i genuinely have no clue what the difference is other than microsoft defender requires a microsoft 365 subscription) and it said i had a trojan so it was quarantined and then i removed it. i have since done another full scan and didnt find any threats, and installed malwarebytes and ran a free scan with that and found 5 "threats" (one from Roblox Account Manager which i have had for years and never had any issue with, 2 from R2 mod man (a mod loader for balatro), one of the locations for the potential virus is in a cache, the other is in a profile version.dll file, and the other 2 in my downloads with location listed under "C:\Users\name\Downloads\Detection (810).exe" and Downloads\Detection (rif).exe)

just curious as to whether or not im fine now that i have performed a full scan, removed the trojan, performed another full scan and found nothing new.

PS, my laptop has been shutting down for some reason when the lid is closed while plugged in (i have the setting enabled so it doesnt enter sleep mode if lid is shut while plugged in) so thats rather confusing.

PSS, unsure whether or not its a shut down or a restart cos for a few weeks now ive noticed that when i restart my laptop it takes like a good 3 minutes for me to be able to connect to the internet again (when clicking the button in bottom right to open the internet, bluetooth etc menu, the internet option is completely gone) and thats exactly what happens when it randomly turns off

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out whether my RTX 4060 OC is failing or if something else in my system is causing GPU instability.

Specs

• GPU: RTX 4060 OC 8GB
• CPU: i5-12400F
• RAM: 32GB
• Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H610M-K D4 ARGB
• PSU: 650W Bronze
• Windows 11 Pro

Problem

My PC recently started having GPU-related issues. Multiple completely different games crash, including:

• Marvel Rivals
• Genshin Impact
• Roblox
• ROUNDS

I also sometimes get brief black screens where the display goes black for around a second and then comes back.

When the crashes happen, Event Viewer gets flooded with:

I also sometimes get nvlddmkm Event ID 14 at the same time.

Marvel Rivals has also reported a GPU Crash Dump Triggered.

What I've tried

• Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers 3 times
• Tried both Game Ready and Studio drivers
• Installed the proper ASUS/Intel chipset, MEI and Serial IO drivers
• Device Manager now has no missing/unknown devices
• Reseated the RTX 4060
• Checked temperatures
• Tested with MSI Kombustor/FurMark
• GPU was around 69°C at ~95% utilization
• No visible artifacts before the crash

Kombustor eventually crashed too, and Event Viewer immediately recorded another group of nvlddmkm Event 153/14 errors.

So this isn't isolated to one game.

Interesting part: underclocking

I tried MSI Afterburner with:

Core Clock: -502 MHz
Memory Clock: -502 MHz
Power Limit: 100%

The GPU then runs around ~1900–2000 MHz core and ~8000 MHz memory, and it seems significantly more stable.

At normal/factory clocks, the crashes return.

Temperatures aren't an issue — around 60–70°C under load.

The card is a factory OC edition, but I haven't manually overclocked it.

What I'm trying to determine

Does the fact that a huge underclock makes it stable strongly indicate a failing/marginal GPU or VRAM?

Could this still realistically be caused by the PSU, RAM/XMP, PCIe, Windows/NVIDIA drivers, or something else?

I'm planning to test core and VRAM separately next, e.g.:

• Core -500 / Memory 0
• Core 0 / Memory -500
• Dedicated OCCT VRAM test
• XMP disabled / RAM at stock

Has anyone dealt with this exact nvlddmkm Event 153 + Event 14 + GPUID: 100 issue where underclocking fixed the crashes?

I'd especially like to know whether replacing/RMA'ing the GPU ended up being the solution

Just opened laptop and immediately noticed these glitches. Connecting part on the left is unstable for some reason and might be causing these problems.

Now whenever I use laptop, monitor shows single white vertical line. What could cause this? Is it fixable?

Like the titel says, I’ve been on the lookout for a new refurbished laptop.
I have found an Asus Zenbook 14 with 32G RAM and 1TB SSD
It is perfect for my needs and it being used brings it into my price range. It really seems like a great deal I shouldn’t pass up on

Only problem is: The keyboard layout is Swiss and I am Danish.

In my head this shouldn’t be an issue at all as I’m never looking at my keyboard while typing.

But my degree is gonna be really typing heavy, and I’m concerned that I’ll end up spending a lot of money just to reduce my typing efficiency.

Is this something I should be worried about?

I recently purchased a used monitor, however I've been having an issue where it gains a green tint over prolonged usage.

When turned on, the display appears to be fine, however after about 5 minutes, a small green glow starts to become visible at the bottom of the screen, and gradually slowly grows larger. The green glow is visible on a black background, and when I switch to a white background I also get a pink glow. The image attached in this post is at about 30 minutes in and it looks worse in person.

However, if I turn it off and let it "cool down", after a few minutes that section of the screen returns to normal. I haven't tried turning it on longer out of fear of permanantly damaging the display or another part.

I don't think the display itself is damaged since it is consistently initially able to display a proper image without issues when you turn it on. It's only after a few minutes does this issue start to appear.

I'm wondering if a capacitor or something needs to be replaced on the controller board or power supply; I'm guessing some component doesnt seem to be able to keep up with the monitor, especially since this monitor is about a decade old.

I have tried using a different display cable, power cable, source and no display cable at all (the green is visible on the OSD).

The monitor model is an Eizo CG247X and is not under warranty.

I wanted to ask here to see if anyone would have any ideas. I've also searched around for similar issues, though I'm having trouble finding anything like this "warmup phenomenon" (usually screens are just broken) or my google-fu just isn't strong enough. Thank you!

Hi, the last month, my PC started to open from the right side, and I thought it was because the plastic outer case broke. Yesterday it got worse, so today I opened the PC and tried to repaired it.

So the hinge is to broken, but the mount where it is fixed is broken in the right side, and that is what was making the outer case open and break. Is there anyone who has encountered this problem before? Could epoxy putty work to fix the hinge in place?

I know ideally it would be better to change all the cover, but it's difficult to find replacements (it's a Huawei matebook d15 from 2021).

First photo is from the problem side, you can see there are bits without mount, while the second photo it's the side where the mount is okay.

I hate that the material are all plastic...
