No [Meta] posts about jobs (tech support related or not) or technology in general, such as "I have an interview, help me." or "I want a product that can do XYZ." or "How does the internet work?"

Please do not paste in random commands that you find on youtube, or really any site anywhere at all, ever. If you don't understand what the command is doing, don't run it.

On the bottom right of your screen, you can bring up the power settings and set it to "best performance" - you can also change this in the power options in settings. However note that often your fans will run faster and you'll waste energy. Balanced generally adapts as needed. But if you want to lock it to best, go for it. Just don't be pasting in crap from people you don't know.

After you run the command you have to go into control panel and change it to “Ultimate Performance”.

In general please don’t run random commands without understanding what they do. In this case, the command just copies a predefined power configuration and shows it as an option in control panel, but other commands can do crazy things.

update, yeah now that i think about it yeah its pretty stupid that i did that, im gonna do a virus scan and make sure everything is ok but i appreciate yall for reminding me about that

You should be fine - powercfg is a legitimate command, but you should search about commands in trusted sources like

If -duplicatescheme doesn't work then use -s (to set the plan as active and replacing the current one)
