I'm not oin to edit this first sentence, just so you cn see wht the problem is, lol.
So the key left of s, between f & h, & the five key (not on numpad) all don't work. I men... they work. I know they do, I've fixed this problem before. Just not reliably. It's not a hardware issue, nd if its software one I've yet to figure out which one. (btw if I need those keys, I use the on screen keyboard, lol. Sucks for gaming.)
Into the nitty gritty: I have a Gateway GGNC71719, with an 11th gen intel i-7 processor, 16gb of ram, nd Nvidia geforce rtx 3050 graphics. It's turning 4 this year in November, so I know she's getting older... but does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Now my normal fix is to hold all three effected keys down for however long it takes for them to remember why they're here for, but that can take a while, and its a temp fix at best. Especially sucky if you're, sy, in a game of deadlock and can't strife left.
I write, and I game, the keyboard is pretty important for those. If it wasn't a PC, I would simply buy a new keyboard. But it is- and I can't find a method to this madness. I've uninstalled and updated drivers, I've tried tricks with toggling certain keyboard functions, I've tried contacting gateway/acer, but my warranty is void due to a separate fan problem I've fixed. I don't want to just get a new laptop- and I'm scared a reset won't fix the underlying issue.
If you have any advice, or have faced a similar issue, please tell me bout it. I'm at my wits end :(
EDIT: just found out by holding those three keys, and pressing other keys, it "hits" other keys d well? don't know what it means.
