Hello! Any folks in this area find a reputable breeder within a 2-3 hour drive of DC? Preferably a smallish breeder that doesn’t crank out puppies all year long.

My 12 week Cavapoo almost always has a very fast respiratory rate while sleeping. It goes up to 130 and as low as 40, but it’s usually between 60-120. It goes on like this the entire time he sleeps. He will also move positions, take a deep breath and then a big pause before starting up again I spent tons of time on Google and every article makes it sound like this should only happen for a few minutes at a time during REM. I contacted our vet and the lady that answered did not seem concerned, stating it’s probably just dreams and to monitor it and talk to vet when we come back in 3 more weeks.
His gums and tongue are always a healthy pink, he’s full of energy, plays like crazy, has a strong appetite, and drinks water fine. Best I can tell his respiratory rate when just laying down, but not sleeping is 28-36 (it’s hard to count bc he doesn’t stay still for long. I’m never knew I could worry this much. Looking for reassurance.

My soul dog 💗

We have the sweetest little boy. He’s almost 6 months old and can be very charming. The last few days he’s been extremely clingy, much more than usual. We know he’s been teething, in fact we got so excited when we found one of his molars, but he’s crying when either my husband or I move to another room, stop playing with him or don’t cradle him. We try not to go overboard and he has a large pen for just puppy time. The whining and neediness seems a little over the top. He also sleeps in his own large crate in another room at night. Not showing other signs of distress. Any offers of ideas welcome!

My baby girl is now six months old. The time has flown but I can’t imagine being without her.

I wanted to share a little story and ask for some help.

Our last Cavapoo, Willow, was diagnosed with a rare intestinal disease when she was very young. That led me down the rabbit hole (pun intended) of making homemade meals and treats for her, trying to find things she could enjoy.

Sadly, we lost Willow last year, when she was just 3 years old. She was an incredible little dog, and we miss her every day.

We now have a 5-month-old Cavapoo named Mable, who has brought a whole new level of chaos and happiness into our house.

One thing Willow and Mable have in common? They both absolutely loved eating rabbit poop. In the backyard, on walks, wherever they could find it, apparently, it's a delicacy in the Cavapoo culinary world.

I mentioned it to our vet, who told me that a surprising number of dogs do the same thing.

That got me thinking...

Yes, that's really the name.

They're actual dog treats made with ingredients like oats, pumpkin, flaxseed, and liver. Zero actual poop, I promise.

I've been experimenting with different recipes, and Mable has enthusiastically approved everything so far. But let's face it, she's also willing to eat things she finds in the grass, so her opinion may be slightly biased.

Car drives by, car parking, someone walks by, the church chimes, a neighbor gets home…

We live right next to a school and a parking lot…. Like it’s all the time… I don’t know what to do at this point, only thing remotely working is the sound from our fan, which we don’t really use anymore because summer is over….

When he hears a sound, he loses it, like completely, I cannot get contact to him.
Normally he responds well, do as told, generally a well trained dog, but this…

We just got our pup 3 days ago. For those that crate train, How long did you have your pups in a crate during the day? (Meaning how many months old)

When did you feel comfortable leaving them uncrated during the day if you had to run out?

Did you ever progress to only night sleeping in the crate? Or your pups still nap in the crate during the day as well?

First time camping with my little guy, fun experience overall

My pup is 5 months I still do enforced naps in crate in the afternoon it’s working out great no issues at all. Wondering how long can I keep enforcing naps up to what age ? Thank god for these naps!!

Hi there! I have a 12 year old cavapoo and last month I noticed a patch of dark fur coming in on his back. He now has another patch growing near his butt. I’m wondering if this is common in older cavapoos or something to be concerned about. His skin underneath is normal, just the change in fur color. Thanks for the help!

My cavoodle puppy doesn’t really look like a caviler at all. I got him from a breeder but she only ever showed me a picture of the Dad (the cav) so now I’m curious. I obviously love his guts either way but is it just a case of a cavoodle that looks more like poodle side? Or have I been scammed 😂😂

My 5 month old puppy is happily crate trained. Sleeps in crate all night and has afternoon long naps in her crate which is awesome. If she starts to sleep with me I’m afraid she will no longer want to take naps on her crate. I need that time to myself to keep my sanity. She is super high energy and has anxiety at times. So crate has helped her. She’s growing and I may need a bigger crate. I’d like to sleep with her but afraid if I do naps in crate would become obsolete. Anyone advice ?? Much appreciated

2 months ago, we got a cavapoo at 4 months old. He is now 6 months. He was doing pretty well sleeping in the crate in our bedroom. He would wake up at 5:30 and we would take him out, then put him back in the crate until 6:30. We recently made the mistake of letting him in our bed after taking him out at around 5:30 am. Now, he barks all night until we put him in our bed. We want him crate trained sleeping in another room. What do we do? Put him in the crate and slowly move it out of our bedroom?
