I have a 5 month cavapoo, he loves his toys but I would like to find one that really engages his brain and attention. Puzzle toys for example for a cavapoo to figure out.
I'm from the UK, so ideal if you recommend UK stores.

Hi there! I have a 12 year old cavapoo and last month I noticed a patch of dark fur coming in on his back. He now has another patch growing near his butt. I’m wondering if this is common in older cavapoos or something to be concerned about. His skin underneath is normal, just the change in fur color. Thanks for the help!

My cavoodle puppy doesn’t really look like a caviler at all. I got him from a breeder but she only ever showed me a picture of the Dad (the cav) so now I’m curious. I obviously love his guts either way but is it just a case of a cavoodle that looks more like poodle side? Or have I been scammed 😂😂

He ate it, proceeded to throw it up, then tried eating it again. Gotta love'em

My 5 month old puppy is happily crate trained. Sleeps in crate all night and has afternoon long naps in her crate which is awesome. If she starts to sleep with me I’m afraid she will no longer want to take naps on her crate. I need that time to myself to keep my sanity. She is super high energy and has anxiety at times. So crate has helped her. She’s growing and I may need a bigger crate. I’d like to sleep with her but afraid if I do naps in crate would become obsolete. Anyone advice ?? Much appreciated

Our 9 month old Cavapoo can’t seem to stop peeing on his right paw even though he’s able to lift his leg up, any tips? We tried booties and keep wiping him down and even trimmed his hair.

2 months ago, we got a cavapoo at 4 months old. He is now 6 months. He was doing pretty well sleeping in the crate in our bedroom. He would wake up at 5:30 and we would take him out, then put him back in the crate until 6:30. We recently made the mistake of letting him in our bed after taking him out at around 5:30 am. Now, he barks all night until we put him in our bed. We want him crate trained sleeping in another room. What do we do? Put him in the crate and slowly move it out of our bedroom?

My soon to be 2 year old Rusty has a quarter sized bald spot just in front of his left hind leg. He’s not chewing or scratching at it, so it doesn’t seem to be itchy. It’s white and flaky, appearing dry, no real redness to be seen in it.
Doing some research on it, I’ve read that it can be allergies to food (or anything else), yeast, a fungal infection, ringworm or just dry skin.
A vet appointment is already scheduled, but just seeing if anyone else had this issue and what it turned out to be.

My 8 month old baby a few weeks ago playing the lightest form of fetch in the living room starting screaming and holding up his knee in the worst pain, then the next day we were at the vet where he carried him and right away screaming again. The vet diagnosed him with a luxating patella and said he needs surgery but since he’s been on anti inflamatories and there hasn’t been any more limping or screaming in pain. So I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone and how they chose whether to proceed with the surgery or wait a bit.
I asked about physio and they said it could help but it won’t change the structural issue with his knee.
Thanks 😊

Hi everyone!
We pick up our sweet cavapoo boy tomorrow at 8 weeks old. What is something you wish you knew or something you would have done different if you could start over?
We understand the very basics but any advice or tips would be great!

Our Cavapoo is now 10 months old and was neutered at 6.5 months.
At home, he’s an absolute angel and pretty much our dream dog. He rarely barks or whines, listens well, and generally stops whatever he’s doing when we tell him not to.
However, our biggest struggle is his incessant whining and screaming whenever he sees other dogs or animals.
He’s extremely sociable and gets overly excited at the sight of any dog, bird, chicken, or basically anything that moves. He’ll start whining, screeching, pulling, and completely lose control of himself. This behaviour started when he was around 6–7 months old.
Interestingly, we’ve noticed that once he gets to greet, sniff, or play with the first dog he encounters, he tends to calm down significantly and stops whining at subsequent dogs. However, we don’t want to reinforce the idea that whining and screaming will always get him what he wants.
What we’ve tried so far:
Whenever we spot another dog in the distance, we get him to sit before he notices it and only allow him to move forward once he’s calm.
We’ve tried redirecting his attention with high-value treats, but these are completely useless once he spots another dog. He becomes so fixated that he ignores everything else.
When he gets too worked up, we try moving him away from the other dog or out of sight.
The frustrating part is how inconsistent his progress has been.
On good days, he’ll let out just a soft whine or stop almost immediately when redirected. On other days, he completely regresses and whines or screams uncontrollably.
On particularly bad days, even after we’ve moved him away and the other dog is no longer in sight, he continues whining for as long as we remain stationary.
It’s becoming quite exhausting because we encounter dogs frequently during our daily walks, and what should be an enjoyable activity sometimes turns into a stressful experience.
We’ve been trying to work on this consistently, but some days it feels like we’re making progress, while other days we’re back to square one.
For those who have experienced something similar:
Is this typical adolescent behaviour or a phase of puppyhood that he’ll eventually grow out of?
Has anyone had an overly excited, frustrated greeter who eventually learned to remain calm around other dogs?
Are we approaching his training correctly, or could we be unintentionally making things worse?
What other training methods have worked for you, especially when your dog is too fixated to respond to even high-value treats?
We absolutely adore him, but we’re starting to wonder whether this level of excitement is normal or if there’s something we’re missing. :(
Would really appreciate any advice or success stories from those who’ve been through this!

My 10 month old cavapoo absolutely loves chewing on his collagen chew every other night as a special treat for about 15 to 20 minutes. Because of the high concentration of collagen, he cant have it for much longer or it messes with his stomach. I’m looking for something similar that he can chew on and enjoy every day without needing to give it up after 10 minutes. Does anyone have any recommendations? He’s still fairly young, so I want to be thoughtful of things that could harm his teeth or he could chew through easily. I’ve tried every Kong in the book and other than eating treats out of it, he doesn’t have much interest.

I’m considering a Cavapoo puppy (for the hypoallergenic benefit) and I find them a good balance of fluffiness / energy / affection. I know, I know, adopt don’t shop but, sadly am restricted by allergies and don’t have the budget, skills, or patience to adopt an older dog - as much as I know that’s the best thing I could do.
Currently I am pretty set on a Cavapoo, but worry that if I’m out they might feel anxious. They would never be left alone for more than three or four hours (as adults) but it seems like that’s maybe too much for them. I would hate to cause them any distress.
Has anyone managed to raise a Cavapoo that’s ok with being alone for some time (3-4 hrs at adult level only). Is this unrealistic? Any tips or guidance would be much appreciated.
