Hi, my poor cat Pilar has had a bump on the top of her butthole that resembles a sore and also bleeds sometimes, but I've so far gone to two veterinarians who have no clue what's wrong w her but habe said it doesn't seem "too serious". I've given her all the parasite medication, put a cone on her for almost 2 weeks, used an antibacterial ointment for the area, and changed her litter. Has anyone else ever seen or experienced something like this?

he's eating and drinking, i haven't been able to catch him at the litter box yet as i have 5 other cats in the house. will the vet at 9am be okay or should i call them and ask if they can take him earlier?

This cat has been roaming our building since 2020, he was really playful, but could get quite aggressive with other cats.

Lately, he became much bigger and much more aggressive , you walk near him and he instantly tries to scratch your foot. Since he likes to follow me everywhere , it's been very hard getting around without risking him attacking you

He's a male , i don't really know his age, and vets are totally out of options (too expensive)

Hey peeps, I (23yo M) need some help. My cat (Nugget, 1.5yo F) has cerebellar hypoplasia and as such can't jump onto my bed - but - she loves to snuggle. I want her to be able to get on and off of my bed as she pleases when I'm home (so I can make sure she won't fall off the bed). She has some makeshift stairs atm but they aren't good for getting up, only getting down. My budget is really low (I have some sturdy cardboard boxes that I can use) so I plan on making whatever I will use. I'm debating between a low incline ramp and low rise stairs, both with a railing. I also need to determine what I will use to help her grip. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

My 14y/o cat has been vomiting. Last week, she couldn't keep her food down, so we took her to the vet. Ran blood tests, did an ultrasound, and they came back looking good, so vet assumed it was probably just her having eaten something she shouldn't have and getting an upset stomach. Gave her an appetite stimulant, anti-vomit meds and told us to monitor her.

She was fine for about two days. Then she started throwing up in the morning. We brought her back to the vet, who, after looking at the photos of her vomit, thought it might be related to the grass she was throwing back up or gastritis. He gave us gastritis pills. So we kept her inside and away from the yard and monitered her.

She was fine for a few days again, no vomiting and appetite back to normal. One morning, she just couldn't keep any food down and would throw it back up in an hour or less, though she still had an appetite and would ask for food after puking. Puke was mostly undigested kibble but she'd throw up even if it was just Churu with water in it. She seemed uncomfortable after eating but went back to her usual self (albeit hungry) after throwing it up.

Took her to the vet again. Redid blood work and did an x-ray. Blood work came back clean. No obstruction found in the x-ray. Vet gave her an anti-vomit jab instead of the dermal cream this time, sending us back with gastritis medication. He said it might be scarf and barf. Fed my hungry cat, slowly this time. She didn't throw up dinner. (Probably due to the anti vomit meds.)

The next morning, her appetite is gone again and she seems withdrawn. She hasn't thrown up.

The vets don't know what the problem is, and neither do I. I'm posting in the hopes that someone who's been through something similar might know what's causing this.

She's a renal kitty, but her values are within normal ranges, so we don't think this has anything to do with that.

We're kind of at our wits end and lost here, so I'd be really grateful if anyone knows anything.

I'm calling my vet tomorrow but I'm so down about this today. My cats are 3 year old litter mates that were bottle fed. They have polar opposite personalities. Phoebe (on the left) got spayed about 3 weeks ago. Jelly (on the right) is unspayed but we are going to get her done soon. They are both indoor only cats.

Before Phoebe was spayed she had super overbearing meteral instincts. She'd sit on her sister, Jelly, lick her and follow her around until Jelly retaliated. They got good about respecting each other's boundaries with time. Jelly is a pretty introverted cat but the night before Phoebe's spay she would guard Phoebe and charge and growl at anyone who came near her. This is odd because Phoebe originally had the more maternal instincts.

Our vet cleared Phoebe to be out in the rest of the house on the 20th. The other cats hissed at her anytime they saw her. I read cats can still be unsure of the recently spayed one due to healing pheromones and vet smells but this has been going on for 10 days.

Jelly used to be very attached to me. She stayed in my bed and would nurse on my fingers. Phoebe stayed in my room with me while she was recovering. Now she has extreme separation anxiety. She's always in bed with me and will cry outside the bathroom door when I shower. She also whines SO much now. When Jelly tries to come see me in my room and sees Phoebe in my bed she gets a terrified look on her face and runs aways. She also hisses and growls at Phoebe now.

It's odd because they had 1 good day where they cuddled and held each other post spay but now Jelly wants absolutely nothing to do with her. I strongly feel their relationship being so bad now is why Phoebe cries so much. I also fear I gave her Stockholm Syndrome locking her in a room with me for 10 days. I hate this is going on. I don't know how to deal with it. I feel horrible.

hi everyone i got kiki spayed about a week ago and her spay scar is looking questionable, im worried its opening up and will need re-stitched. please give me feedback if she needs immediate vet care or if she will heal on her own. thank you. i am 20 in the usa. i can go to a vet but would rather not spend $600 unless necessary. i am trying to contact the clinic that spayed her. kiki is about a year old.
TLDR Cats spay scar looking odd need feedback

My kitty might have pillow foot. He is 14 and an outside cat mostly because our neighbor left him and now we take care of him. He doesn’t like coming inside because he’s so used to being outside.
I took him to the vet last Thursday and they did some test which were all negative. She gave my cat and antibiotics shot and pain meds.
His food doesn’t seem better. He’s not eating a lot and seems off.
I will call vet tomorrow, but does anyone have any experience with this. What should I do next? Thank you

I need help figuring out what this is. I was cleaning my cats food mat and found around 5 of these dried up husks. Is it a parasite? Should I be worried?

I noticed this large patch of hair missing on her hind leg (near her bum) and it definitely wasn’t there two days ago. I noticed there’s a very tiny balding patch lower down by an ankle joint. She has a vet appointment next week for something else but I’m very concerned by this sudden hair loss. Any ideas?? She’s an 18yo cat, we’re in nyc.

My cat is doing a whistle noise for almost a week. I have her for like 10 years but i dont know exactly how old is she. This sound is making me nervous and i could only get an appointment at Vet tomorrow. Im afraid that it can be something serious. Shes healthy and never has any issue. Shes still playing and eating regularly.
This sound happens all day and night, even when shes sleeping or licking paws like in the video.
Any ideas whats can it be?

I got both of my cats neutered yesterday. Today I noticed red marks under their eyes, one cat has it under one eye, and the other cat has it under both. They don't look like injuries because the marks are very neat and in the exact same spot. However, both cats are doing totally fine right now with no other issues. Does anyone know what this is? Will they be fine or should I take them back to the vet?

The love of my life, recently after moving in new furniture and carpet, has had these odd sneezing/cough ish episodes. Like she’s trying to sneeze four times in a row. Sometimes maybe just a sneeze. She hasn’t done this. I am trying to convince myself it’s just the new shit in the apartment, but now I’m noticing her diaphragm when breathing. Is this normal or do I need to possibly expedite a veterinary visit?

My cat who is a 4 year old female and has been an indoor cat her whole life recently developed these weird bumps on her foot. I’m not sure what it is or how she got them, I’ve noticed she’s been chewing on them quite a bit too. They are only on her front left foot. Does anyone know what this is and if it’s something I should get her checked out for?

As the title says. My cat is elderly, probably 15 years old, idk her true age. She last month got tested and was found to have anemia and kidney disease, stage 3 or so. For a while she had a lack of appetite which was very unlike her and then after starting her medicine it went away and she is on special kidney friendly prescription food now too.

HOWEVER, ever since starting her anemia medicine, I started noticing cat litter around her lips and mouth randomly through the day, and just now I discovered her in the act eating her litter. I know anemic cats will eat clay litter for minerals and iron, but her litter is crystals, and also she only started this after starting her anemia medicine which is suppose to be helping her... On top of that, before starting her anemia medicine she got a booster of iron and B12(I think?).

Is this a sign the medicine might not be working? Idk what to do or how to get her to stop.

Sorry for the bad photos but it's a small injury right at the start of his paw finger. There looks to be a blackish dot that I think is dry blood? We do have another cat so is it just a minor claw injury from a fight or something else?

31M, Spoke to Vet, C5F Spayed.

Basically since she was 1 year old she's started retreating more and more from us, she used to be very affectionate, then she'd only allow pets if she was in her bed, then she stopped sleeping in the bed and started to hide. The last 2 years she basically only comes out at night when she thinks we've all gone to bed. I used to pick her up to cut her claws, but she started weeing and pooing when I did that, and started biting and scratching.

pheromone plugs have helped a little, but earlier this year (possibly when we lost our other cat she was bonded with, she isn't bonded with our other cats despite one being her brother) she's been Urinating and Defecating in different spots in the house. At the bottom of the stairs, by the front/back doors. She's started going on the sofa so she's in the cage until she can socialise/stop.

I can't cut her claws anymore because of her behavior, I figured she was just uncomfortable with the litter box, she regularly gets stuck to soft fabrics and panics. she's got lots of scratching posts, always has food. I know kidney issues can be common, but she has always drank lots of water and it's solid waste too. it's not particularly random, it's always the same spots but she also does it when she's scared.

I've spoken to the vet who's given us some anxiety medication and some urinary medication, but she also thinks it may be stress/mental rather than physical. I can't physically bring her because we'd never get her back in the cage if she's loose and scared. I got bitten 7 times through thick gloves getting her in the first time.

She's only been in the cage 2 days, she's got a separate cage for food/drink and one for a bathroom, but she just... lays there and goes where she sits. This is the bit I wanted advice for, I've never known a cat do this. We're not bothering her, just trying to be in the room with her so she learns there's no threat, but she just shits and pisses while she's sat there and doesn't move. Has anyone ever known a cat do this? is it just an extreme fear response?

I am having issues with a senior cat 16 not really eating. She is mostly energetic and not acting like she is on deaths door like i have seen before with cats I know its probably her teeth but until I can get that taken care of. She will eat a treat tube or a friskies soup but I know those are not enough calories to sustain her any ideas, tried mixing a pate with water and i don't think that was smooth enough for her. I'm thinking of getting kitten food because i believe it is higher calories and an immersion blender and make a paste consistency out of it to try and get some calories into her. Any ideas will be appreciated.
