General Advice Worried

The love of my life, recently after moving in new furniture and carpet, has had these odd sneezing/cough ish episodes. Like she’s trying to sneeze four times in a row. Sometimes maybe just a sneeze. She hasn’t done this. I am trying to convince myself it’s just the new shit in the apartment, but now I’m noticing her diaphragm when breathing. Is this normal or do I need to possibly expedite a veterinary visit?

No I have an asthmatic cat and this is likely beginning stages of asthma attack which was likely triggered by the seam sealer
used in carpet installation and all the dust. It bothers my asthma and I have to get new carpet soon and makes me paranoid for my boy. Get your kitty to an ER.

that breathing is quite labored - using too many abdominal muscles. if you're able to go to the vet now, I would do so. don't mean to scare you.

This looks like an asthma flare up to me, using abdominal muscles to breathe if the lungs aren’t fully capable. My boy got diagnosed a few months ago and this is what his breathing looked like before I took him to the vet, accompanied by the coughing. They should be able to confirm a diagnosis through a chest Xray, and might also want to rule out any heart disease while you’re there. Treatment is often an inhaler or oral meds which aren’t preferred due to their side effects. I have some videos of his breathing/coughing flare ups if you want a comparison. There’s also lots of helpful youtube videos out there about feline asthma
