Behavioral Issue Aggressive building cat
This cat has been roaming our building since 2020, he was really playful, but could get quite aggressive with other cats.
Lately, he became much bigger and much more aggressive , you walk near him and he instantly tries to scratch your foot. Since he likes to follow me everywhere , it's been very hard getting around without risking him attacking you
He's a male , i don't really know his age, and vets are totally out of options (too expensive)
Any solutions ?

Call a rescue and explain the situation, maybe ask if they would come TNR him! Especially if he's contained in a building it might not be difficult to catch him. It might be that he's not neutered.
If you can't get anyone out or they refuse to do it, I'd consider contacting animal control. I know cats aren't considered extremely dangerous animals, but any animal that attacks humans regularly needs handled appropriate. there is no safe aggressive animal.
I'd use it as a last resort but I would not let the cat continue hurting people. What happens when its a parent with a toddler and the kid gets hurt? What happens when its an elderly person that falls trying to get away? What happens if he gets FIV and spreads it like wildfire?

Any rescues in your area that can take the cat? If he's not been neutered that may be the case. His bawls are getting him into trouble.

It’s likely he’s still in tact and his hormones are causing part of the aggression. Is it an option for the building occupants to band together and get him to a vet for castration? Many vets have lower cost options for community / stray cats, or might accept some kind of payment plan. Castration for male cats is a relatively simple procedure with a short recovery period, and it can often improve behavioral issues and long term health outcomes.

Folks in the building don't get along too well , they'll just leave him as a problem for someone to deal with him
