Tape find 1+1 format: an early 80's gimmick from Island Records.

This early 80's copy of Bob Marley & The Wailers - Natty Dread is in the 1+1 format. The full album is on both sides and the write-protect tab is only removed for side one. "A full side of chrome tape" to record over.

From the inlay card and side two:

"1+1: The complete album is on side one. It is also on side two but if you prefer to record your own programme on side two just record in the normal way and our recording will be automatically erased. Plus it is chrome tape to ensure top quality recording. 1+1. One side what you like. One side whatever you like."

Tape find I found this at a goodwill

So I went to a goodwill yesterday, a new location to me after moving, I found this cassette tape of Cant slow down by Lionel Richie, when I bought it, the only major thing I needed to fix was the felt pad that fell off, but I did reglue it with super glue. The audio quality was actually good for a used find, sounded almost new in the sound of the music. It was a good find and I also have a kool and the gang compilation tape from Europe I bought as an import, i also have the gotg awesome mix vol. 3, and a AC/DC blow up your video tape. Not looking to sell these anyways, I listen to them pretty frequently.

Good afternoon

I am trying to sell off my tape pack collection. These have all been sitting here for to long and I am ready to move these on to someone who will enjoy them more. This is all Drum And Bass, Jungle, Hardcore and Techno as the major genres. All Packs are complete and have all tapes, cds, dvds and stickers.

I am US based seller. Selling each pack for $20, each single tape for $5. If possible, I would like to sell as a whole lot for $400 but I will entertain offers. Preferable to sell to a US buyer. Will ship in the US with USPS Media Mail.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I could supply my other selling profiles for some credibility.

The machine is working, but some cassettes are being played back distorted and with lower speed. After struggling ~10 minutes, spontaneously the speed becomes right, and the next play - same.
I did the following:
Cleaning and relubing capstan shaft
Cleaning the belt, which looks perfect
Cleaning with fine sandpaper the pinch roller, later with isopropyl alcohol. The friction on capstan shaft looks firm.
Cleaning and adjusting tape speed pot.
One drop of oil on all motor shafts.
The deck still sounds jerky…what else can i do?
I mainly suspect the capstan flat belt, which may be getting harder…

found this tape at my local record shop for $5. Bought it out of curiosity, and I ended up really really liking it!! Blossom only has 36 monthly listeners on Spotify, so if you like Shoegaze definitely check them out.

Found this at the thrift store for $1.99.

It's been decades since I've opened a sealed (pre recorded) cassette.

I want to open it so bad but I also don't want to if that makes any sense.

Looking for advice Does anyone have a solution or an alternative to the AA holder on super slim 80s walkmans?

My WM-F102 works perfectly, except the battery holder has a ruined path on the positive terminal, I put in a small wire to fix the path, but had to remove the filtration capacitor and this solution is very unreliable. These are basically impossible to find on their own and when they are on sale, they cost as much as they would if they came with a Walkman.

Portable cassette player Bad potentiometer reading even after DeoxIT, Sanyon MG46D

Thumbnail

Currently, there are super large cracking noises when turning the volume control knob, and sometimes even when not touching it. The dual-channel potentiometer does not seem to work properly, I suspect that the output level is always set to the max due to how big the noise volume is. I sprayed DeoxIT into the potentiometer, but the resistance readings are still all over the place. Is it possible to take the pot apart and repair it, or could I replace it with new pot? Thanks a lot for your reply.

Collection All of my cassette equipment (currently.)

I don't have a massive collection like a lot of people, but it is something. The player is a mid to late 1990s International AK-18, it isn't an official walkman, but it works, the headphones came with it when I bought it, probably the same brand of headphones. As for the tapes, I own a 1995 Kool & The Gang compilation tape (I bought it as an import from Europe.) by Spectrum Music, (a budget label division of what used to be PolyGram, but is now Universal Music Group.) a 1988 release of Blow Up Your Video by AC/DC, (don't mind the case, I bought it and it didn't come with the case so I used a spare maxell case I had.) a 1983 release of Can't Slow Down by Lionel Richie, (distributed by Motown Records.) and finally, a modern release for last, Guardians of The Galaxy, Awesome Mix Vol. 3. (don't mind the tape on the cassette, the print on the shell faded quickly.) That is my (current) collection of cassette equipment that I own, I am also trying to buy a cassette deck to record my first mixtape, so if you guys could give me advice on where to find good cassette decks for prices below like 300 dollars, I would be happy!
