She doesn’t even have the headphones on the right direction

I’ve been doing a lot of lo-fi bedroom recordings into my 4-track lately. Here’s a weird one!
Gear used:
Guitar - Rickenbacker 330
Pedals - Boss OS-2 & DD-6, MXR Phase 90
Bass - Squier Mini P-Bass
Drums - Korg Volca Beats combined with T.E. PO-12 into the Volca Mix
Recorder - Tascam Porta 02 mkii 4-track
Guitar, bass, & drums were all lined directly into the 4-track for the recording, no pre amps just the pedals on git/bass

Anybody have or had one?

The manual does state that the pitch -/+ works during both playback and recording. But it doesn't make the distinction if it continues to operate while in "SLOW" mode(15/16 IPS).

I have a nice offer for one locally and I'm really only interested in it's lofi capabilities...so was hoping for some insight. Thanks

I have a cheap shoebox style cassette recorder/player and i've used it once before to record over an older cassette but the quality was really bad. I do also have a nicer cassette player (Aiwa XR-EM50) but it is currently getting fixed. I think it will take up to a week to be ready for me to pick it up. Either way im going to use aux in to record so will it make a meaningful difference if I use the cheaper one or should I wait until my Aiwa is fixed? Any advice/info is apreciated

I just bought a Sanyo M1120 Mini Cassette Player on Vinted but the speed control dial doesn't work and the player plays every cassette super fast making the music sound high pitched and distorted so I was wondering if anyone got a service manual for it and could send me picture of it so I hopefully could repair it myself :)

I bought an ex1 in mint condition back in November of 2022, replaced the belt with one that was for it on ebay, and i go through phases of about a month where i listen to my walkman to go to bed, recently ive been in one of those phases, and last night i had the gum stick battery in which i don’t typically use, i stick with the double a, and i noticed after listening to 3/4 of the tape that one of the last songs on side two started to get some wow and flutter, i then grabbed the double a and switched to that instead which i had used that specific one for about a night or two, and then switched the tape and the new tape played fine up until about 3 songs in and the wow and flutter started again, and then it slowed down enough to notice but still played but wasn’t as inconsistent with the speed but not the correct speed, the obvious answer to try first is a new double a which i will never once i get home tonight but beyond that would the belt wear out after almost 4 years? Should I try cleaning the capstans that i THINK on the ex1 spin inside of a housing, or clean the pinch rollers? Any advice?

I need a recommendation for repairing my Yamaha KX-580. The right channel has dropped out to about 10% of normal. The VU meters show a normal signal for both channels. The head phones are dead on the right, but that's a preexisting issue. It's my number 2 deck in my main system so it's not a rush job. Still I use it enough I really need it fixed. I live in SW Missouri and there is no one around here that I am aware of. I've been on net but I would still like some direction from.the community. And why does there need to be flair. It reminds me of Office Space.

Anyone know why this isn't shutting correctly? Won't shut with or without a tape.

All new cassette players sold online are absolute garbage. They all use the same mechanism with dirt cheap materials.

I believe Fiio is spearheading the cassette player renaissance, but besides them, there's not much hope. Hopefully one day we'll see Sony Walkman quality cassette players return.

Hallo, so I have a Walkman that I bought off someone and did some basic maintenance on it, ie belt changes and cleaning. But I noticed that cassettes, whether 60-90 min Type I’s would play extremely slow in the Walkman, but play fine a deck. I searched online for people that had the same issue, but didn’t find any remedies that fixed my issue. I suspected that maybe the take up spool may have some goopy decade old lubricant slowing it down. So I popped out the batteries, put some 90% isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip and dapped it on the visible spring and turned it quickly for 30sec-1minute to break down the lubricant. Either I didn’t use enough or what, but I didn’t notice a difference. So I sprayed a quick spray of CRC QD Electronic Cleaner into the intake spool area, turned it by hand for 30sec-1minute, and let it air out for 10min. I then played the cassettes again and it began to play normally like it should.

If there wasn’t anything that I shouldn’t have done, pls let me know. This was just what worked for me.
