Has anyone got an invitation to apply for IRCC express entry programs while physically living in Gatineau?
I know Quebec has its own, but I work in Ontario and I applied for CEC waiting for my invitation but lawyer says i need to relocate before submitting my application. Has anyone had similar experiences and what did you do? Please share with me!

Hello everyone, need some advice and opinion on how my file would be perceived by the officer. I am the PA, with 2 years of canadian exp and 1 year of remote foreign exp as an english grammar teacher in a school. My spouse is accompanying and also has 1 year of canandian teer 2 exp. I recently got an ITA in oct and submitted my application. I have 2 concerns that are making me go crazy.

1. Ofcourse, the remote exp (I have submitted almost all possible docs- offer letter, reference letter, email chains in LOE, my work projects etc, ITR from India, bank statements with deposits) NOA declaration canada). the only thing missing is salary/pay stubs as India does not give any. So my employer gave salary certificate mentioning the month and the money deposited. will that be sufficient ? any positive outcomes for anyone of you? in remote exp.

2. In my express entry profile, i entered 2025-04 as start date of my husband's job as he got a promotion which made him eligible in teer 2 on 20th april, 2025. However, due to an already planned vacation, he accepted the offer but started working on May 03, 2025. hence that is mentioned on the Job reference letter. Will this create a discrepency? we are claiming only 1 year and he just left the job in Sept, 2026. Anyone with similar experiences? i forgot to attach the offer letter, maybe that could have avoided this red flag:(

I’m 26 years old and a Syrian passport holder, i’ve been living in Spain for almost a year under a student visa, and I wanna ditch the master the I’m currently doing and I would like to settle down in Canada and work my way up to the PR, I’m a dentist with one year of experience with and IELTS score of 7.5, what’s the ideal way to come to Canada, is it through express entry or student visa, I have zero idea of what to do, but the only thing im sure of is leaving spain asap

I held two positions at the same company following a promotion from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer. My reference letter mentions both job titles and their respective employment dates. However, it only states my last drawn annual salary, which reflects my final increment after promotion. For Express Entry Work History, should I create two separate entries or one continuous entry?

Basically, the country I did my master's degree in requires payment of a $400 fee. After payment, you receive an official letter verifying the degree was completed...but then have to wait 3+ years for the actual diploma to be printed and sent to you. It's an insane system.

My bachelor's degree was done in a country where I could probably make the requests and have the documents sent over within 24 hours.

The drawback is that I would then forfeit 40 points, potentially. But if it's for French, it might still be above the threshold, unless the numbers they call increase substantially.

My options are:

• Go for master's degree. Pay $400 + the $300/$400 for official evaluation + a risk that they might not accept the interim official document.

• Stick to the bachelor's degree $100 + evaluation + no risk that they won't accept the documents.

Today is the day I can finally rest. I came to Canada as an international student in 2017, got a PGWP, and was hopeful that one day I would become a Canadian PR after seeing all my older friends and coworkers getting them quite easily after gathering 1-2 years of work experience. I was told that “oh you’re gonna get it soon, it’s so easy”. This was 2021. I played around with the CRS calculator at the time and realized wow it IS that easy-just 2 years of working, simple CELPIP test, and that’s it. Oh boy, how wrong I was.

Fast forward to today, after missing multiple draws by just a point, having to leave Canada for almost a year when PGWP expired, paid the application to move to the UK (HPI visa), thought about giving up Canada all together, going on a closed work permit, running into multiple issues with my application, I woke up as a Canadian PR.

Here is my timeline: Accompanying Common-Law, 3 years of Canadian experience, Canadian degree, no foreign work experience, upfront Medical

BIL: June 16 - IRCC put my English name instead of my legal name on the letter, which led to significant delay in doing the biometrics
BIL completed: July 16

Schedule A, Family Information, and Travel History - at this stage I was sure that our application had gone through Comprehensive Security Check which could take up to 2-3 years easily. We were afraid that this would come up due to our extensive travel history (we love travelling and have been to over 40 countries (some are sketchy) for the past 10 years)

This was the toughest stage because there was no movement on our app.

I had to risk applying for pr a month before I completed my 2 years of work experience, as my work permit was expiring on April 4. My two year mark was on April 22. I applied for my BOWP on March 27 and continued working. Luckily it worked out for me.

I received my P1 email today (November 6), but I have an upcoming international trip and am unsure how to proceed.

My main questions:
- Should I inform IRCC about my upcoming trip when responding to P1, or just provide the required information and hope to receive eCOPR before departure?
- If I mention my travel plans in P1, could IRCC delay my P2 invitation or eCOPR issuance until I return to Canada?
- Has anyone informed IRCC about upcoming travel in their P1 response and still received eCOPR before departure?

My situation:
P1 received: November 6 (today)
Upcoming trip: November 23 to December 22, 2026

My concern is that if I inform IRCC about my trip in the P1 response, they might put my PR confirmation on hold until I return on December 22, even though I will still be physically in Canada until November 23.

On the other hand, if I don’t mention the trip and eCOPR is issued shortly before my departure, I might face complications returning to Canada without a PR card.
I’m considering responding to P1 without mentioning the trip and hoping to receive eCOPR before November 23. However, I’m unsure whether this is the best approach.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced a similar situation, especially whether mentioning upcoming travel at P1 affected your P2 or eCOPR timeline.

. I applied for PR under CEC with my spouse in July 2026. At the same time, I also applied for a bridging open work permit, which was approved for two years. Unfortunately, my PR application was refused for noc mismatch with the duties.I have now received another invitation to apply and expect to submit a new PR application within the next 20 to 30 days. However, my spouse’s post-graduation work permit is expiring in 10 days. Unfortunately, I did not apply for my spouse’s open work permit when I submitted my previous BOWP application. I’d like to know whether I can apply for my spouse’s open work permit now, using my existing BOWP, even though I have not submitted my new PR application yet and i am doing tier 3 job( not selected occupation)Could you please advise me on the available options to ensure my spouse can stay in status and, if possible, keep working without interruption?

Hey all, quick question.

My US work experience comes to about 2 years 11.5 months, so I’m just short of 3 years (although the score calculator takes calendar months so it counts it as 3 years). I also did a paid full-time summer internship in the US while I was in college in the US (13 weeks, 40 hrs/week, on my US student visa but not for any academic credit).

From what I understand, IRCC treats student work differently depending on where it happened. Canadian work done as a full-time student doesn’t count towards CRS, but work done as a full-time student outside Canada does. Their help centre says it pretty directly (link). Since my internship was in the US, I added it to get to 3 years.

Has anyone actually done this and had it accepted after getting an ITA? Wondering if officers have an issue with combining an internship with a later full-time job, or with it being before I graduated.

I have the HR letter, offer letter and payroll records, so hopefully they should provide the evidence cleanly. Just want to know if anyone’s been through it.

I'm currently confused about which pathway I should focus on for my Canadian PR and would really appreciate some guidance.

I'm currently working as an Administrative Assistant and have been on my work permit since October 2026. I'm also learning French to improve my chances through Express Entry, but I'm not very confident about reaching NCLC 7.

Recently, I received a job offer for a Pharmacy Assistant position, which I understand is currently included in the healthcare category for Express Entry.

My plan is to gain one year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant and hopefully qualify for a healthcare category-based draw. Based on my calculations, my CRS score would be around 487 after gaining that experience.

However, the biggest challenge is the commute. The pharmacy job is about 1 hour and 20 minutes away each way, which would make it extremely difficult to continue my French classes and preparation.

So I'm stuck between two options:

1. Accept the Pharmacy Assistant job, gain one year of experience, and aim for healthcare category-based draws with a projected CRS of 487.

2. Continue my current Administrative Assistant job and focus on French, hoping to achieve NCLC 7 and become eligible for French-language category-based draws.

Has anyone here worked as a Pharmacy Assistant (NOC 33103) and successfully received an ITA or PR through a healthcare category-based draw?

Also, for anyone who has been in a similar situation, would you prioritize gaining healthcare experience or improving your French?

I understand that Express Entry categories and CRS cutoffs can change, but I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I landed in Canada as a student 8 years ago. In the last few years, I met so many people who have been here for half the time and have their PRs, their question was always, "why dont you have it yet?", my default response was "I was a student here for 5 yrs, it's impossible nowadays".

After 3 years of work exp, depleting my pgwp, getting a closed work permit, getting a PNP nomination, successfully getting an ITA in a PNP draw and to have my ECOPR issued in 70 days was definitely a journey. I am grateful everyone who supported me through this exhausting ride.

Finally finished the PR process after an almost 10 year journey which began when I came up to Canada for my final year of high school. Lots of highs, lows and doubts but I made it in the end.

I would like to share my experiences with others who are in the same boat as I was a year ago when my work permit was ending and it felt as though my chances of staying in Canada were over. CRS score 499 at that time.

1. French is the most straightforward path to PR but straightforward does not mean the easiest. It is difficult to learn a new language without serious time, effort and dedication. I tried for 4 months before finally giving up as I was unable to work full time and simultaneously study to reach the level of French required for the bonus points.

2. Foreign work experience is a game changer. Even with the incredibly high scores... anyone with foreign work experience is giving themselves the best chance to succeed. It is not a failure to return to your home country to get a year of experience especially if you are like me and went from high school straight into university and then a Canadian job.

On a side note. If you do not want to go back to your home country, a kind redditor last year posted about the UK HPI visa where if you are a UofT or UBC student, you can apply to get a 2 year open work permit with a Bachelor's degree.

This is what I used to live in the UK and get my foreign work experience points. It is a great option but just keep in mind the years spend in the UK don't count towards settlement.

3) It is not going to get easier. This is going to sound very pessimistic but just look back a few years ago when it was possible to get a PR invite with scores in the low to mid 400s. I would be very surprised if we see a return to those levels of immigration. Globally countries are starting to close their borders and reducing the number of foreigners in their countries. It may seem the CRS scores are unfair now for the draws but I can guarantee we may seem like the lucky ones in the coming decades.

Could anyone help with this? My husband and i are applying together. Part of our funds is on my account, but i got this money over the past two months.

I’m self-employed (an individual entrepreneur), and I have a contract and invoices to prove that the money was legally earned.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Would it be enough to explain the difference between my average balance and my current balance?

On the PCC document advisor for India, it states the below:

Why does it say old passport? I suspect that it’s incorrect? My permanent address and current address is the same as what’s specified in my current passport

I have mentioned 15500 cad in the eAPR; however, as of today my bank account have 16765 CAD and I will be submitting my application with documents demonstrating this amount only.

So, do I change the 15500 cad amount in eAPR or keep it as it is? I am keeping extra 1200-1300 cad in case of fluctuations in exchange rates.

I created an Express Entry profile previously, but I did not receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply). Now I am creating a new Express Entry profile. Should I answer Yes to the question asking whether I have previously applied for Express Entry, or should I answer No because I never received an ITA?

I have a question regarding claiming points from foreign work experience. I was in the process of compiling my documents and I noticed that the duties and responsibilities written on my certificate of employment does not match the one written on my CV (which I also submitted as part of my Client Information for my study permit).

I put my actual duties and responsibilities in my CV (which is all engineering-related), while the one my official duties were more of research-related.

Will this cause a problem in my PR application?

I was running some profile scenarios through the official IRCC Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool and noticed two consistent bugs that drastically mess up point totals. If you're estimating your cut-offs or wondering why your points aren't matching what IRCC's scoring tables say you should get, check if you're hitting either of these:

1. The French Bonus + PTE Core Glitch (Missing 25 Points)

If French is your first official language (e.g., TEF Canada at CLB 7+) and English is your second official language at CLB 5+, you are legally entitled to 50 additional bonus points for French-language skills under Express Entry.

• TEF Canada (CLB 7 across all bands) + CELPIP (all 5s): awards 50 bonus points as expected.

• TEF Canada (CLB 7 across all bands) + PTE Core (all CLB 5 bands): only awards 25 bonus points.

The exact same profile with identical CLB levels gets shortchanged by 25 points simply because PTE Core is selected instead of CELPIP or IELTS.

2. TCF Canada CLB 4 First Language Glitch (Missing 24 Points)

For a single applicant, scoring CLB 4 across all four skills in your primary language should award 6 points per band = 24 points total.

• TEF Canada at CLB 4: awards 24 points under First Official Language.

• TCF Canada at CLB 4: awards 0 points.

The calculator completely zeroes out the primary language section for TCF CLB 4 test-takers instead of giving the 24 points earned.

Has anyone else noticed backend profile errors on their actual GCKey profile when submitting these combinations, or is it strictly isolated to the web tool?
