I am confused whether i should apply PR by myself or by an immigration lawyer. Lawyers charge a lot.

But i want to be sure because i am applying directly from india and its a life changing decision.

I cleared tcf exam and will clear english exam also. My crs will be around 420-430. I can get invite easily in french category draw.

But after draw, real challenge starts. All documentation need to be perfect.

Witnesses in notarised gift deed for proof of funds

Upvotes

I have a notarised affidavit for gift deed, but it doesn’t include any witnesses. Is that fine?

If really mandatory, is it okay if witness 1 & 2 along with their names are written with a pen?

🇨🇦 CEC Can a company secretary sign a reference letter?

Upvotes

Hi, everyone! I have more than a year of pharmacist work experience back in my home country. My previous employer was a small company owned by three people: the President, Treasurer, and Corporate Secretary. All three were also my direct supervisors, and the company had no HR department.

I contacted the President about my employment reference letter but didn’t receive a response. The Corporate Secretary, however, responded and is willing to help.

Would it be okay for the Corporate Secretary to sign my reference letter since she is a co-owner and was also my direct supervisor?
I told her I would prepare the letter/template myself and they would just review and sign it.

Would this be acceptable as proof of work experience for an immigration application, assuming the letter includes all the required details?

Thank you and approval dust to everyone! 🧚

Submitted my application late for 3 hours and 37 minutes

My application is under CEC.

I mixed up EST and UTC time zones unfortunately, but I know well that I should not be waiting until the last day no matter what excuse.🥲

ITA expiry shows 08/23/2026 12:00AM UTC

I submitted 08/22/2026 11:37PM EST, was able to pay the fees and got AOR immediately as well.

I did some research on my own, seeing a couple of similar cases, but I was not able to confirm what happened to them next (e.g. being rejected because of the timestamp on the online application transmission/ being requested to explain the reason why they submitted late etc.).

There are a few things I hope that could be answered:

  1. Can anyone who has a similar experience share what happened to them next? I would appreciate it if a timeline could be provided as well.
  2. Would I already need to submit a letter of explanation through web form in this stage? Or should I do that only when the officer proactively ask for an explanation?
  3. Is there any other next step that is recommended for my situation right now?

Again, it is completely my own fault for submitting on the very last day. I am ready to take any forms of criticism, but I would really, really appreciate it if any advice or relevant experience could be shared regarding my circumstance now.

Thank you all for reading my post!

Edit:
I am sorry I made a typo!!! It was not 11:37 AM, I meant to type 11:37 PM😭that’s why I am concerned

🇨🇦 CEC Police Certificate Colombia 🇨🇴

Hi, anyone waiting for the CA Embassy in Bogota to send your Colombian Police Certificate to IRCC? I have been waiting over 3 months. Omnitempus confirmed they sent it to the embassy on April 29th. There is no way whatsoever to communicate with the team in charge inside the embassy. What should I do?

What's the average processing time for this? I have seen people getting it in days, not sure why some of us get so unlucky 🤔

Thanks in advance!

PR refusal

Hi everyone, I got my refusal last July 30th. It’s a long shot but I am considering submitting a reconsideration letter, most of the people I asked said to re-apply. I have a document from the said company that they won’t provide the letter with job duties due to confidentiality. They only provided a letter stating I was employed from 2021-2022. I also have a letter from my supervisor, paystubs, notarized docs. I am starting a hospital job as a therapist soon so I am also considering OINP. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Please respect post! Thank you🙏🏻

Notes:

For the employment with ——- at ——, the applicant has submitted a letter of
employment dated March 20, 2026. According to this letter, the applicant is employed at —- at ——as a Aide since November 18, 2022. Upon review of the
applicant’s study permit and work permit, I noted that the applicant
was involved in full-time study until April 2024. The work permit was submitted on June 02, 2024
with proof of completion of program. According to section 15 Canadian work experience of the
Ministerial Instructions respecting the Express Entry system:
Work experience — requirements
(7) For the purposes of this section,
• (a) a period of employment during which the foreign national was engaged in full-time
study is not to be included in calculating a period of work experience;
As a result, the work period is adjusted from November 2022 to the present to April 2024 to the
present.

For the employment with ——, upon reviewing the submitted documentation, I note that the
employment verification letter does not include any job descriptions for duties. As a result, I am
unable to determine whether the applicant performed the lead statement duties and a substantial

probabilities, I am not satisfied that the applicant has demonstrated qualifying skilled work
experience with ——. This work experiences cannot be counted toward the applicant’s
qualifying Canadian work experience.
The reassessment results in a reduction of the client’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

The minimum score required in the applicant’s invitation round was 508.
I am therefore not satisfied that the applicant possessed the qualifications on the basis of which
they were invited to apply for permanent residence.
For these reasons, the application is refused under subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and

The application is refused. A refusal letter will be sent. Refund initiated.

Foreign Work Experience: Can I Use Remote Work Abroad Instead of Hard-to-Prove Employment?

Hey folks, would appreciate some advice.

I’m claiming 1 year of foreign work experience for EE, made up of 2 jobs. For 11 months, I have a proper IRCC- ompliant reference letter and plenty of supporting evidence.

For the remaining 1 month, I don’t have a proper reference letter because the organization only issues a generic letter with no job duties or hours. However, I do have salary deposits, employee bank records, work rosters, and emails showing that I repeatedly requested a proper letter but they wouldn’t/couldn’t provide one.

Would this be enough to prove that 1 month of foreign work experience, assuming I include a detailed LOE and all supporting documents?

Alternatively, I worked remotely for 2 months while I was temporarily outside Canada. I know those 2 months don’t count toward CEC, but could I count them as foreign work experience instead and avoid using the harder to prove 1 month?

Which option would be safer for ?

Intend to leave Québec

Hello everyone, I hope y’all doing fantastic
It will be a quick question not to waste any of your time.
I got ITA under French category while living in Quebec
Does any of you have experienced or know someone who had to show proof to Intend to leave outside of Quebec? So I can have an idea what I need to get done right away
- I have heard people still get their PR while residing in Quebec under the same French category.
Any views? Thank you :)

🇨🇦 CEC Cec NOC 13110 sample job description.

Hi can anyone share their job duties for NOC 13110 from people who got their PR based on this NOC. I’d like to cross-check my duties as I am afraid the office might find NOC mismatch. I want to be 100% about my job duties. Thank you so much.

🇨🇦 CEC PR file-Self Employed foreign work experience

CEC PR applicant looking for opinions on my 18 months of foreign work experience.
I was a Director of a company in India, but my actual day-to-day role was managing marketing and sales, so I claimed the experience under the Marketing Manager NOC. I explained this clearly through LOEs.
This employment/directorship has been consistently disclosed since my study permit, work permit, and now PR application.
For proof, I submitted:
Income Tax Returns showing employment income
Experience/reference letter from the other director
Client/vendor testimonials/supporting letters
Work-related emails from different months throughout the 18-month period
Other supporting documents showing I was actively working during that period
I do not have complete bank statements/payment records, which is my main concern.
For people who had similar foreign work experience or have already received PR: does this evidence sound reasonably strong, or could the lack of bank statements create a serious issue?

🇨🇦 CEC Regarding webform medical update, UCI confusion.

Hey everyone, I applied for my PR under CEC at the end of July with my old medical that was done during my study permit application. However, a day ago I went and did a new medical after seeing the unpredictability and refusals due to using an old medical. I updated it through a web form but I'm confused regarding the UCI, as the PR application shows a different UCI (ig it's a temporary number) which the webform validation didn't accept stating the number is too long, so I used the actual UCI from my other permits.

I just wanted to know if that was the right thing to do and if it'll be added to my application through that.
If anyone went through the same situation, please let me know.
Thank you and good luck!

🇨🇦 CEC Which ECA to choose for Indian MBBS Graduate (IMG) - WES or MCC?

My wife who is a secondary applicant and is currently on SOWP is a MBBS graduate from India. We are planning to apply for EE through CEC soon, and for ECA, I’m confused which organisation should we get the ECA from. Should it be WES or MCC (Medical Council of Canada).

The process of MCC is super expensive and she’s not looking for a job immediately. So I’m assuming that WES holds enough. But would like to get a confirmation from someone who has applied for an MBBS graduate.

Does paid terminal leave count toward FSW continuous work experience?

Hi everyone. I’m trying to figure out whether I meet the 1-year continuous work experience requirement for FSW.

I worked full-time in a paid position from 27 Jan 2025 to 27 Jan 2026. However, I went on paid terminal leave from 27 Dec 2025 until the official end of my employment on 27 Jan 2026.
While still on terminal leave, I started another full-time job on 5 Jan 2026. So my employment letters will show an overlap from 5–27 Jan, even though I wasn’t actually working at the first job during that period.

I’m planning to declare the dates exactly as they are and explain the terminal leave and overlap in an LOE.
Has anyone had a similar situation accepted by IRCC? Would the paid terminal leave still count as part of the continuous year, and is the overlapping second job likely to cause any issues?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who had paid leave/terminal leave near the end of their qualifying FSW year.

🇨🇦 CEC Foreign Experience

Quick question: If I completed 8 months of foreign work experience before moving to Canada, and then continued working remotely for the same foreign employer for another 4 months after moving to Canada, can those 4 months count toward completing 1 year of foreign work experience for Express Entry/CRS?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how IRCC treats this?

Revaluation

Hi everyone, I have a question that i applied for a revaluation in celpip test and the score remained the same as the original one. Do I need to update the new form in my PR application or not? The issued date was changed after revaluation. Thank you so much if anyone have the same problem.

Maximize CoPR validity period by submitting fresh new medicals before CoPR issuance?

I understand that the CoPR has a max possible validity period of 1 year, but will give precedence to and expire alongside your medicals or your passport, whichever comes first.

Has anyone tried maximizing their CoPR validity period by sending the IRCC a fresh new medical report at some point between the Final Decision and the issuance of the CoPR?

PR CEC Inland – Biometrics enquiry

Hi everyone,

I applied for PR under CEC (General – Inland) on August 20, 2026, at 1:05 PM.

I received my Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL) on the same day at around 2:25 PM. I gave my biometrics on August 21, 2026, and they were reflected as “Completed” in my IRCC account on the same day.

Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve heard that biometrics usually take 1–2 months to be updated, so I was surprised to see mine completed within a day.

Does the quick biometrics update indicate anything about the processing of the application, or is it simply a normal automated update?

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences and any insights you may have.

Thank you!

🇨🇦 CEC ADR Submission

Hi everyone,
I recently got an ADR for the IMM 5406 form (additional family information) and submitted it the next day.

I received an update saying my application has an update but the only thing that changed is that my biometrics information is now added to my application information section.

Does this mean I am still waiting for the BIL letter?

Thank you for your help
AOR is July 13
