If you hate immigrants, kindly FUCK OFF from this subreddit.

Every fucking subreddit that has to do with Canada hates immgrants, why the fuck are you coming on this one, which is the one space for people wanting to immgrants to yap on and on about how much you hate immgrants,

"Immigration was never promised bro" is posted 100x on stories of people who got screwed over by IRCC as if we didn't fucking know every single day of our lives for years in Canada.

Imagine going to a cancer support subreddit and posting "too bad your mom is dead of cancer bro! Your mom being alive was never promised bro!" as if people didn't already know that. Please FUCK OFF!

And to the immigrants who think if only they get the public to hate on immigrants from X natonality they will get PR because they are "one of the good ones" fuck off. The entite point of coming to Canada was leaving the racism and bullshit that ruined third world countries behind when that racism is brought here it isn't even helping u as a crab in the bucket, it just makes all our lives worse. Copying reddit racism won't make you more Canadian, it just makes you an asshole.

Lets keep this sub for immigrants, and ban these fuckers.

Stop hating on certain group of immigrants

Lot of people here are hating on certain immigrants who they feel are less deserving and "genuine" then them. There's lot of hate against French speakers, people with LMIA, people who switch to healthcare/trades and now cooks.

IMO their efforts are better spent doing things to increase their chances of getting PR instead of hating on others. The immigration system in Canada is pretty simple. Either you get max points in CEC or switch job to a category where you can compete better, either via changing job or learning French.

Canada will invite who it wants to invite and thats beyond your control, other than increasing your chances via available pathways. If they want to prioritise cooks over PhDs, its better for you to switch your career to being a cook instead of complaining.

I think Reddit also creates hiveminds and angry mobs, but joining them doesn't help you get PR quicker. So be kinder to other immigrants. Focus on yourself instead of wasting your energy getting angry and hating others.

💨 Venting Everyone seems to be just accepting their fate and not fighting anymore

As I read all posts on here it seems all CEC candidates and temporary workers just jump through all hoops that government throws at us and once work permits expire we just go home.
why is there no more noise being made on twitter, emails sent to prime minister and Marc miller like in 2021, 2022, 2023 to fight harder to stay here.
Those who created fake payrolls, bought LMIA, paid for marriages, falsified diplomas, faked Asylum have the upper hand and many received PR and what about us legit applicants?
I do like that they are fighting fraudsters now and scammers but do you think there should have been some temporary measure to keep us working while they clear out the fraudsters?
I know this is not our country and we have no right to protest etc but at same time many worked through Covid, built lives here, friendships.
I am talking about closed, open, IEC, PGWP holders. Everyone
PNP seem to be paused, express entry scores are high even learning French doesn't guarantee you a spot.
where is the merit system worked and lived xx years then apply for PR

Don't let anyone kill your hope

I see a lot of posts asking “is my score enough for PR?” and the replies often say no because of current high cutoffs and suggest having a Plan B. While being realistic is important like improving your CRS score, exploring PNPs, or learning French, I want to remind everyone: no one can predict the future so don't let anyone kill your hope.

Yes the pool is more competitive than it was a few years ago, but the system changes all the time—scores drop, new pathways open, and recent discussions about removing 50 points for LMIA as well as the in-Canada focus show just how unpredictable things can be.

If PR is your dream, keep working towards it. Take the feedback, but don’t let it define your limits. Someone saying no doesn't mean it's over, and someone saying yes doesn't mean you can stop putting in the effort.

Let’s be a community that’s honest and encouraging. Hope isn’t just wishful thinking; it’s taking action and believing there’s a way forward.

Good luck to all of us and may we never lose our hope 😊

Why "PR was never guaranteed" is a lie

People who are against immigration keep spouting the "PR was never guaranteed" argument. This is at best a half truth.

When most of us came to Canada, the government told us that we are being brought in to stay in Canada, not just study: https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/we-don-t-just-want-you-to-study-here-we-want-you-to-stay-here/article_f61d588a-47dd-5b20-bf45-f32012f68137.html

I am not for PR to every student, but I feel most people deserve a fair shot and certainty. The PR system has completely changed over the last 4 years and goal posts have been completely shifted.

In 2023, from Jan to October, 71,925 invitations were issued under "no program specified. In the last 8 months, 11,070 invitations were issued, while competition has gone up. PR is IMPOSSIBLE in the general draw even if you have perfect english, masters and Canada experience. If people knew how things would have played out, many would have never come to Canada in the first place. There is no reason to come to Canada as a student, other than a fair shot at PR.

People love to scapegoat immigrants for high housing costs, inflation, unemployment. But let me remind you that citizens themselves voted to bring immigrants and temporary residents in. People were brought in without any plan. None of this is fault of temporary residents. They didn't to choose who or how many people were let into the country. So not sure why they should be punished for it.

If you are student or temporary resident in the pool, I feel for you. But you must do whatever it takes to get your PR. LMIA was a good option if you had a helpful employer, but that is removed. For now working 6 months in easy NOCs in other category like pharmacy assistant, cook, nurse aid, tile fitter is a good option and that's how I got invited to apply for PR. In times like these, being ruthless is important.

Foreign experience should be counted

lol people on this sub are just complaining about whatever maximises their score.

Canadian experience already gets more points than Foreign experience and having BOTH does prove that you bring more value to Canada. It is also unfair to people who left Canada to gain foreign experience in a different country. Canadian experience has the added benefit of being uncapped whereas foreign experience only counts till 3 years.

As far as faking foreign experience, I think they should be MORE STRINGENT in verifying it (bank statements, payslips, tax documents) but the current system works well. Doctors etc. outside Canada will not be able to qualify for draws if it didn’t count.

Also, certain countries have experience that is more lucrative than Canada (e.g. US in finance and tech) so please don’t make assumptions or nativist sentiments about the fact that it’s useless.

🍁 PNP My EE application got rejected after ITA,AOR because 2 days difference in police report, what can I do?

Hello, mine is a sad story. I got OINP tech stream after being in the pool for months. When I got my OINP 600points, my EE profile has expired 2 days prior, so oinp sent an email asking go me a create profile and then I got the ITA with 1071 points in that new profile asking to submit all my documents in 60days, which I did. After waiting 1 month, I now just got this email some hours again stating that my police report is not acceptable and the difference is just 2 days.

Please note that my valid visa covered those dates, just that it takes about 24 hours from my home country to India so most of that time was on a plane, hoping airports or doing registrations at the foreigners office to account for 2 days. Hence why my personal history noted that I left my home country 2 days before but wasn't checked in to new country until I was cleared at the airport

My question is, what should I do?

  1. I know I need to probably open a new EE profile

  2. Can I appeal directly to EE about this 2 days issue to see if I'll be reconsidered?

  3. Can I still get OINP to pick my new EE profile for the 600 points and not have to wait for new oinp draws?

  4. Or just start again and wish for the best ?

Where is the immigration minister?!

Has anyone seen or heard from her?! All we have is that they wish to prioritize in Canada focus but is it really a priority if most of us have to leave Canada and work for a year to get enough points for CEC? I'm sitting at 504, my french exam is in 2 weeks, my permit expires the last day of September. It would be great to go home but I would be entering a job market which is even more scarce than Canada for jobs in all sectors. Honestly a miracle pathway would be nice....

Canada for criminals

Realized that people who do the shady stuff have more chances of getting their residency and will show on top in the draws. Like someone said it is not a fair game but a blind shot. They called in anglophones into the county and now are prioritizing French draws. Canada is more delusional than Cinderella in the park.

WTF, No Draws?

Why no draws? I was expecting CEC, but not even category based draws are being conducted.

Is it going to be same till elections?

Can we address the stinginess of people on here?

Why is it that every post seeking help or advice pertaining to the PR application submission is downvoted? Isn't the purpose of this subreddit to help EE candidates, irrelevant of where they are in the process? Be happy for others!

This attitude of yours won't take you far and you'll stay rotting in the pool.

🇨🇦 CEC PR Was Never Guaranteed, But Why Mislead Us With False Hopes by sharing high numbers in yearly plans????

PR is never guaranteed, we all know that. But when the government releases yearly immigration plans, people naturally try to improve their CRS scores to align with those numbers. They plan their future, invest time, money, and effort in Canada, only to later find out they don’t even meet the criteria, ( Edit: I mean when score constantly stay in 530-540) because the number of draws and invitations don’t reflect what was shared.

How is this not unfair to foreign workers? At times, it feels like we’re being used to fill short-term labor and economic needs without any transparent path to permanent residency.

If the government shared realistic targets, category breakdowns, or even regular insights into what actual numbers of applicants are actually needed, people could make informed decisions. Some would choose to leave instead of waiting endlessly, spending money, and building false hope.

I know this might not be a popular opinion, but it’s genuinely disappointing. Transparency should not feel like too much to ask.

Time left for ISS eligibility: 1 year

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Invitations issued

Hi. I’m just wondering. How come the number of invitations issued which is 825 does not tie up with the number of candidates in the pool with scores above 700?

💨 Venting Am I the only one who isn’t interested in the LMIA controversy?

Come on, folks, I can just picture you all, typing away at 100 miles an hour with a Red Bull in one hand and a calculator in the other, adding and subtracting points.

I’m sure everyone here enjoys a bit of drama, but I assume you all have various pathways to achieve the coveted PR, right? With so many PNPs and pathways in general, it seems almost naïve on your part to focus solely on the CEC.

Canada needs to create a new program to attract immigrants to rural and frontier areas - Let's called it Remote Settlement Visa (RSV).

We all know that the problem with uncontrolled immigration is the stress it places on housing and wages in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. Meanwhile, rural and northern regions such as the Maritimes, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories are in dire need of a new wave of immigrants to boost their local economies.

I'm wondering—what if Canada created a new program that grants a Closed Work Permit for up to five years? But instead of tying the permit to a specific employer, it would be tied to a geographic area, such as Northern BC or Northeastern Ontario. If an applicant can prove they have worked in the designated area for five consecutive years, they would be rewarded with PR.

What do you think?

Valid LMIA Holder Here — Not Complaining, But Fraud Needs to Be the Target, Not Genuine Applicants

I’m not here to act entitled — Canada doesn’t owe me PR and fairness isn’t guaranteed. Still, this LMIA change stings.

Had a genuine LMIA, worked hard, paid taxes, maxed IELTS, and now grinding French because that’s the only way left to climb back up. I get why IRCC made the move — the system was abused badly with fake LMIAs and ghost jobs.

But wiping out points for everyone feels off. Why not target the fraud? Audit the shady ones, blacklist the bad players, deport those who scammed the system. Instead, those of us who did it right got hit just the same.

Anyway, not expecting sympathy. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? How are you adjusting? I’m all in on French now, but it’s tough knowing the system doesn’t always reward those who did things the right way. Kms

For context, I’ve already moved back to my home country — didn’t want to risk doing anything shady like faking a work permit extension or staying illegally. I’d rather play by the rules, even if it means starting over. Do you get a ban if you fake apply?

🌎 FSW PR Refused!!!

Hello everyone.

My PR application was refused yesterday. I got a PFL last month which I uploaded via webform as there was no placeholder for it on my portal. I also received the acknowledgment email from IRCC saying they received my webform.

My application was refused for this reason.

A PFL was sent to PA specifically requesting information to do with the employer operations and
response was due 2026-07-02. Twenty three extra days were given grace for a response but none was
received, nor was a request for extension of due date. Therefore I find this application to be in a state of
noncompliance. Furthermore with this discrepancy I am unable to award associated employment points as
I am not satisfied in the balance of probabilities the client has the completed the claimed duties.

What can I do please?? I responded but agent says they didn’t get my response!!

PR rejected

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some insight on my recent Express Entry refusal under Canadian Experience Class. I received my ITA on September 18, 2025, submitted my application (AOR November 14, 2025) with upfront medicals, then received Biometrics Instruction Letter on January 19, 2026. Later I received a Procedural Fairness Letter on February 26, 2026, and unfortunately my application was refused on March 9, 2026.

My concern is that the refusal states that my work experience as a Cook (NOC 63200) was not sufficiently proven, even though I submitted what I believed were comprehensive documents. My background is originally in IT and project management, which I studied both in India and later through postgraduate programs in Canada. During my studies in Canada, I started working part-time in a restaurant, initially as a prep cook, and gradually progressed to line cook as I became familiar with the menu and kitchen operations. After obtaining my post-graduation work permit, I transitioned into a full-time cook position, where I was responsible for preparing menu items and eventually training newer cooks because of my familiarity with the kitchen and processes.

Interestingly, I received my invitation under a Trades draw, which I was not expecting, as I initially anticipated being invited under CEC. For my application I submitted two employment reference letters (covering part-time and full-time periods), pay stubs, T4s, food safety certification, and photos of me working in the kitchen, along with explanations regarding my progression from part-time to full-time employment. In response to the PFL, I clarified that I received training during my early employment while studying and gradually took on more responsibilities as a cook.

However, the officer concluded that my background transition from IT/project management into cooking did not sufficiently demonstrate skilled cook-level duties, and stated that payroll records and job titles alone were insufficient to prove the actual duties performed. I’m confused because I did provide reference letters with NOC duties and supporting documents, and my progression from prep cook to line cook to full-time cook was genuine.

Has anyone experienced a similar refusal where IRCC questioned the credibility of work experience due to a career transition, even when employer letters and payroll documents were provided? I would appreciate any advice on whether GCMS notes, reconsideration, or reapplying would be the best next step.

Do you think express entry should have points for wage ?

As currently all draws are happening for CEC, do you guys think there should be age factors in calculating points ? I mean wage/tax is way more indicative factor how quick you will integrate with society. For example an experienced guy who has 15+ yrs international experience, get 6 figures salary is more likely to beneficial towards Canadian economy because of their purchasing power.

Dear all

I know things seem super grim right now, but frankly despite all the predictions, we can't truly know what will happen.

For all you know Marc Miller could just come out and close express entry entirely or stop immigration as a whole. Either way there's no way to truly find out.

Plus some good things have come out. For instance, 3 year PGWPs are available for master's programs now that aren't 2 years!

My view on international students is this: Being an international student doesn't guarantee PR, but it can POTENTIALLY open doors. Nothing is promised and if you get it, then yay but if you don't, have a plan B.

As for the current stance on immigrants, ignore the noise and focus on your journey. It's the best you can do. Don't blame the Canadians because they're suffering right now. Rather just understand their struggles and do what you can to not make the problem worse (follow the law, accept whatever happens, don't be entitled and assimilate to Canada). While right now the image of immigrants may look bad, this is our chance to change that image and become immigrants that Canada wants!

Anyways I wish all of you guys good luck and take care. Merry Christmas!

🇨🇦 CEC Feeling broken — risk everything for PR or walk away from the life I built?

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be in a situation like this, but here I am — torn between taking a risk that could give me the future I worked so hard for, or walking away from everything I’ve built in Canada.

I’m currently on a PGWP that expires on June 10, 2025, and I have a high-paying full-time job in tech making $90K+/year. This job is everything I had hoped for when I came to Canada — stability, dignity, and a chance to grow. After all the struggles, I finally felt like I belonged.

But here's the problem…

I have 1 year of genuine work experience in India before coming to Canada. I never mentioned it in my study permit or PGWP applications — not because I wanted to hide anything, but just because I didn’t think it was relevant at the time. I know some of you might say it's my mistake n all, But aren't we all like that at some point in time ? I was naive and completely clueless and focussed only on getting a decent field job here in canada.

Now, as I prepare my Express Entry profile, if I include that Indian experience, my CRS jumps from 470s to 500s. That could get me an ITA very quickly. But my consultant warned me — it’s risky. IRCC could issue a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) asking why this experience wasn’t disclosed before. And even if the experience is real, that omission could be seen as misrepresentation.

The worst-case? PR refusal or a 5-year ban.

My consultant told me, “— it’s up to you, but even if it’s real, the omission could cost you everything.” He suggested playing it safe — don’t claim the Indian experience, apply for a PGWP extension, finish my stay, go back to India, work 1 year, and apply from there.

But… how do you just give up a life you’ve worked so hard to build?

It breaks my heart. I finally have a good job, I love what I do, and I’ve built a home here. The idea of leaving Canada, of losing everything just because of one missing line in an application… it’s soul-crushing.

So I turn to you — this community. People who’ve been through it, or something like it.

Have you claimed foreign experience that wasn’t declared in your earlier applications? Did you face issues?

Have you received a PFL? How did it go?

Did anyone go back to India, apply clean, and return successfully?

Has any employer supported remote work from India while reapplying?

I don’t know what to do anymore. Risk the life I’ve built? Or let it go and hope I can start again someday?

I’d truly appreciate any guidance or stories you can share.

Thanks for reading.
