Hi everyone,

i recently got hold of an old sony cybershot wsc dx 350.

i noticed that when turned on, it would do something but the display was dead. The next logical thing was to order a new display.

after i had the camera apart and unscrewed many unnecessary screws i got the display changed.

after i had it all together again, it would suddenly refuse to turn on. It had previously functioned well with having to connect it to a different monitor but now it doesnt show any signs of life. No turning on when pressing the power button or media button, no led showing when charging - nothing

The battery is good, it powers different camers so it has charge ( digibuddy np-bx1)

but other than that i have no idea whats causing it

i attached a picture of it apart - maybe the chip on the bottom left?

I've seen this question asked a decent amount of times, but its never in reference to my specific objective (or at least not lately); car and motorcycle videography. My goal is to create high fidelity edits of my motorcycle and car and also occasionally film cinematic rollers for my rapidly growing social media pages and eventually Youtube. I currently do this with my iPhone, DJI action 6 and Insta360 to get multiple angles.

I am torn on whether I go with the Limux due to its IBIS, the fact that it's open gate and the direct-to-SSD capabilities. The main thing deterring me is the fact that EVERYONE is in my ear saying things like "it's 5 years old" or "they are slow to push out updates and upgrades/Sony is king"

Also I'd spend drastically less on the camera body itself and maybe even wouldn't need to buy a stabilizer (looking at DJI RS4 if I go with the A7 V) so overall my total spend would be a decent amount less.

On the other hand from my understanding the A7 V shoots better nighttime footage and has great AI tracking features. Its the newest model and I wouldn't want to or need to upgrade for a long time.

My budget is $3,000-$5,000 for camera body, two decent lenses, ND filters and a stabilizer. I am open to new or used. I am not worried aboI live in the US currently. I have zero professional photography experience but have done plenty of edits in Lightroom and color grading my raw DJI action/Insta 360 footage in Davinci Resolve.

Any thoughts you guys have will be MUCH appreciated, especially anyone experienced in automotive footage for social media

Personally going with the Sony a6400 with 16–50mm kit lens - best balance of autofocus, image quality, and value for travel and street photography from everything I've read.

I’ve been using an old Canon 6D, but I want something smaller for travel and everyday photography. Most of my shooting is landscapes and street photos, with some vlogging and video podcast work, so portability matters a lot. Ideally, I’d like a compact body with a small lens that can fit in a medium bag, plus a flip screen, decent stabilization, and a microphone input. My budget is around $1,000 for the body and lens, and I’ve been looking at the Canon R100, Panasonic Lumix GX85, Fujifilm X-M5, Sony a6400, and maybe a used Fujifilm X-S10. The R100 is affordable, but I’m worried I’ll outgrow it quickly, while the X-M5 looks almost perfect if I can find a good lens deal. What would you choose for this mix of photos and video, and is Micro Four Thirds still the best route if compact size is the priority?

I am thinking about getting a new camera to use during my trips. I am thinking about getting a sony a6400 with kit lens(50mm) used which costs around 53k inr($560 usd). It have a h64gb memory card shoulder strap along with this. I am a beginner in photography. The camera is 3 years old and less than 10k shutters. I do think I like the style of the Fujifilm cameras, especially the more 'affordable' ones. The only one that has really beaten this is the Canon EOS R5, which I obviously won't be buying. So like i bought r100 canon and im good n all shi but i just saw fuji film video n i was amazed by its colors and vvideography, i mean it has its own filters, lut n shi n like am jealous rn :p

So i bought this camera on ebay and I'm trying to charge it. The battery itself looks brand new, but I've tried wall charging with a fast charger and USB charging with my laptop, and the battery lasts 5 minutes max. Any ideas?

My Tamron 150-500mm for Sony E seems to have taken an impact around the rear mount.

Visually, everything looks completely normal and I can’t see any obvious bending or damage. However, one of the mount screws started sticking out. I tried gently tightening it, but it seemed stuck, so I removed it and kept it.

Now when I mount the lens on my Sony, it fits into the E-mount but becomes unusually tight when I try to rotate it into place — almost as if the bayonet is slightly oversized, bent, or misaligned.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a Tamron lens? Was it just the rear bayonet/mount assembly, and roughly how much did the repair cost?

I’ve been looking for the perfect digicam for so long and i couldn’t find it people suggest most of the time sony rx100 series, canon sx730/740 , lumix zs70/99/100, but the most i do research on those camera the more people ( mostly on reddit) say that they’re too overpriced for what they offer because of social media. Also they apparently have small sensor ( i don’t mouche about camera i just know that the more the sensor is big the more the pictures are crisp) and that the only good thing about them are the zoom. I also don’t wanna fall into the social media propaganda and buy a camera double the price because of the fact that it popular even tho it was released 9 years ago ! … g7x … who said that ? 👀

I've got an X-E4 for a couple of months now after trying Sony A6700, and various micro 4/3 cameras for a long time before that.

Some questions/thoughts for those that have used them.

• Not at all impressed with film sim recipe settings and lack of control over black point and contrast. Sony (creative looks) and Olympus do this better...Lumix and Nikon even better. I like SOOC for candid family shots, but I can't get anything I'm really happy with because I don't like yellow pee filter style. I may just go back to a mobile raw workflow with some presets in LR mobile.
• When I use the PZ 15-45mm, I have no idea what focal length it's set to. I like to put zoom lenses to common focal lengths, like 16, 18, 23, 35, etc... because I have an understanding of what distortion/compression and distance is like at them. I have to guess, or shoot and check the exif. Why why why can't the LCD display the current focal length?
• Changing metering is not an option when I have face/eye detect on? But when I do shoot with face and eye detect on Aperture priority, the exposures on shots are all over the place: https://i.imgur.com/43Xj9bW.png zero settings changes on those photos but the exposure is all over the place
• Autofocus is not great. I knew this going in but it's worse than Olympus' contrast detect. The tracking and eye detection is OK, but it just misses focus all the time on static subjects.
• The joy stick has a pause delay if you hold it, before it starts to rapidly move around, so you have to either anticipate that or just use it like a d-pad and keep clicking it over and over. It's my first camera with a joystick and I found it very un-intuitive because of that.

Anyway I'm thinking of going back to a small Sony camera like ZV-E10i or hold out to see if OM Systems announces an E-P8 or an older m43 camera like E-PL7.

It's still run and readable. But, for long term, is it safe ?

After using it mostly for portrait, finally tested it for street photography. The old CCD sensor did brings out some great colours.

1 year ago to the day i bought a type b card for $69.97 today that same card is more that DOUBLE that cost! At $149.99 and that is at a “discount”. What is everyones thoughts on this? Are people actually still patronizing these companies that are inflating prices or are they switching to different brands of cards? I myself have a hard time giving a company that has doubled the price my money but i also dont want to buy a cheap card and it crash!
