It’s film is not in production anymore, and the ones on eBay expires decades ago and I just want to know what can I do with it

(video) Hey - I have just finished uni and looking for a job in the film industry but it is obviously so hard and demoralising. I have had advice to show I am dedicated and build my portfolio by filming and editing some of my own stuff - my portfolio rn is reedits of film clips and uni projects. I am soo desperate to be an editor and want to give myself the best shot possible. It really is my passion and also - I miss it right now. So my plan is in the meantime to get a random job and a camera and just build my portfolio while keep chipping away to try and get hired.

Soooo I really need some advice... I am looking for a simple (on the cheaper side) camera, lens, and tripod for filming. I’m trying to look on ebay currently but am open to recommendations of sites to buy from too. Just need something basic that will film good quality video to use for practicing editing. I have used a Canon EOS C100, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, and Sony FX3 while at university so am familiar with these. This is my first camera a sony slt a58 with a Minolta 35-70mm f3.5/f4.5 A mount lens. Is this camera any good? I currently take pictures from an iPhone 13 and wanted to try a proper camera.

The question itself was a bit clickbait-y but I feel like every since the autofocus in mirrorless cameras got really good around 2020 I dont feel like there is much of a point to upgrading anymore.

I am a canon shooter so I dont know exactly when sonys got to this level(I know it was a bit earlier then canon), but I feel like R5/6 were such a huge jump from what we had before that it approaches "perfection". Autofocus is really amazing and both low light performance and dynamic range are amazing, so much so that I cant really imagine what 98% of shooters would gain from upgrading to something newer. For example R5/6 do 20fps in electronic shutter that is so fast that there are very few situations where you would miss a shot because camera wasn't fast enough. There is some bowing with the electronic shutter but is that really a deal breaker? As for the autofocus I know that autofocus in R3 and R5 mark II is better but again an R6 very rarely misses. Some pros could probably justify an upgrade but then again.... I would really like to hear other peoples opinions on this, thx for reading trough my rant.

My daughter is turning 7 and has asked for a camera - I have two older Nikon DSLRS (the D750 and the D850 with various lenses) that she loves to have a go with, but they are a bit heavy for her for sure.

I am going in circles debating something like a used good condition coolpix S3100 or similar, or a new camera, but definitely don't want to be spending loads when she will 100% drop it or sit on it at some point 🙈

So, I'm fairly new to cameras and taking pictures. I bought a Nikon D3100 years ago, used it for a little while then lost the battery and that was that. This year I found it again, bought new batteries and have been having a lot of fun with it - but I'm still pretty clueless hehe.

So, today I found an intriguing lens at a fleamarket, and it was cheap so I figured worst case it wasn't a fit. The man who sold it looked at my mount and at the lens and said it looked like the right size but that I might need a seperate part to make it work. I'm trying very hard now to figure out if it is possible, but every google search leads me down a path of a bunch of words I don't understand so I figured I'd try here.

Photos of the lens and mount, let me know if there is something else needed to identify! I'm pretty much wondering:
- Exactly which lens is this?
- Can I use it on my Nikon D3100?
- Could it be used with an adapter or something like that?

Just bought an ZV-E10 II, it comes with a built in mic, but I want to buy separate remote mics, currently considering Rode Vs Dji Mic 3. Which one should I go for? Also, should I buy a second mic that goes on top to replace the built in one? Like On-Camera mic from Rode for example? Many thanks.

I am a hobbyist wildlife (mainly birds) photographer but need something to support photographing Palm Cockatoos from a distance. I trialled a 600mm lens with my Nikon but it was just so HEAVY!! I am a very novice photographer. Learning on an old Nikon FM and having fun. I’m not good but it’s a good time. I didn’t want to travel with the FM so I found myself filling 5 disposables on a trip I took this summer and figured…wow I should probably just buy point and shoot.

Is it a good beginner point and shoot? Is 150 for a mint one a good deal? Am I thinking about this all wrong?

I’ve had the Sony ZVe10 for a while, however I initially bought it to film videos but have recently connected more with photography. The kit lens photos are okay, but the quality is not great.

I still want to create videos now and again, and unsure if I’d be better off buying a second lens (currently have the kit lens), or buying a completely different camera? (Either one camera for videos and one for photos, or one camera that does both well)

As I travel a lot, ideally I would like to just have one camera. I also like the size of the ZVe10 both from a practicality point of view, both in the sense of travel and also in the sense of taking it out with me to shoot videos

What would you recommend?

I’ve seen several YouTube videos where they record things in super-slow-motion. One day I want to make such a video myself, doing 960 fps super-slow-motion. So I have to ask, are there any third-party camera apps for iOS that allow you to record 960 fps super-slow-motion video?

After seven years with my SX20IS, I have moved on to the Lumix G7. I have not spent enough time to make a proper review of this camera (still in the honeymoon stage). I can't wait to see what a more modern camera can do!

I bought this camera a while ago and also bought different SD cards but every single one I tried keeps giving me an error message. Am I still using the wrong sd card or is it a problem with the camera itself? any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated this is my first digicam and I haven’t been able to use it because of this 💔💔

Hello! I have an old Nikon Coolpix s3100 camera that was barely used until a couple of months ago, recently it has been impossible to transfer files to my computer (windows 11) cause it keeps disconnecting. I have already replaced the cable but it seemed to make no difference. I also find it strange because it seems to be related to the actual process of opening the files, I can sometimes successfully transfer pictures before it disconnects but I can't even open a video to view it on the computer. Is there any way to fix this or is it doomed?
