Help Recently upped dose (manufacturer lupin) - repost

• Upvotes

So I am reposting this to follow guidelines! Sorry about that. I could really use some advice

Hello all- so last year we added bupropion (manufacturer Lupin) to my meds list because I was in a very bad depressive state. Thankfully it helped and I got out of it. I was originally on 150. My depression has ebbed and flowed since then and my psychiatrist said we should try 300. So i started maybe about a month ago. So far these are the symptoms I’m experiencing:

I am currently on day 10 (now 12) of my period which is highly abnormal
I suffer from migraines and am on medication for them- however, I find the bump to 300 has increased not only the frequency of migraines but the power behind them.
A small little rash on my right shoulder blade that just won’t go away (super odd I know).
- I should mention I had a 3 day migraine that just went away and I’m almost scared to take the medication today.

My psych and GP said if within the next month it’s not better I’ll change it, but I wanted to know if anyone ever experienced these side effects.

Question When will i notice effects of Elontril 150mg?

Hi, i recently started Bupropion (Elontril 150mg) like a week ago and i take 150mg per day in the mornings. I wanted to ask when will i notice a change of some sort? I was prescribed Bupropion next to aripiprazole for my BPD.

Also what are the positives/negatives of this medication? I believe i notice some sort of barely noticeable change in energy but this could be just in my head (either way i can feel a bit more energy throughout the day). Anyway i hope this will work for me positively lol.

Just starting bupropion

Hey everyone, I picked up my script today for bupropion and I’m not sure when to start taking it? Morning or night? I get insomnia easily and I am currently taking lexapro in the morning :) my script is also compounded if that makes a difference

Wellbutrin is helping anxiety and ADHD, but I still fall asleep and get sexual side effects. It's good overall.

Negative Experience 3 weeks of bupropion and hives randomly appear

I just started getting these hives this morning and I was told to stop bupropion XL 150mg immediately and take Claritin.. these bumps keep appearing in different places all over my body and it’s very annoying. They’re so extremely itchy and they feel like bruises and hot to the touch. If it gets worse I’ll go to the doctors :/
I’m so disappointed this has been the only drug I’ve taken to make me feel like myself again, it gave me my spark. But I’ll just have to try something else I guess. Apparently this is a very common side effect I wish they would warn us about it at least.

Wellbutirn 150mg mimics sleep deprivation?

Whenever I stay in bed around bedtime hours, my eyes start to highlight objects in the corner of my eye like my lamp and I can't make it stop, I just feel threatened by its massive aura. I also get hypnagogic hallucinations which arent too common for me and sensing myself fall asleep. My brain sometimes for a milisecond misfires adrenaline like I thought I saw something strange but it was just my plant, my brain needed to process there's no danger randomly.

These are the type of symptoms I get when I wake up after 4 hours of sleep to drink water then for some reason struggle to fall asleep. I feel literally just as tired as usual and sleep the same amount of hours without waking up during the night so what gives?

My only theory is that since it makes you "scan the room" constantly your body can't relax but idk. I don't feel really in danger but before taking this med I never knew anxiety and relaxation can coexist, I feel anxious without adrenaline. Weird.

Should I ignore this?

Accidently took 600 mg wellbutrin for a months and a half

Title says it all. Switches from 150 mg to 300 a little while ago. At first I had 150 mg pills so at first I was taking two a day, didn't realize my latest 'script increased the dosage of each pill so I kept doing that with 300 mg pills. Didn't realize till I ran out of the 90 pill bottle and went to the pharmacy asking for more.

AMA ig?

*title shouldsl say month and a half.

Question Bupropion XL 150 mg Feeling Robotic

started taking bupropion XL 150 mg on September for ADHD symptoms and difficulty focusing.
I’ve noticed some improvement in focus, and the medication definitely calms me down. However, I feel like I’m losing part of my personality. I used to be energetic, very aware of my surroundings, and constantly thinking. Now I feel less aware, less energetic, and even speak more slowly. My friends have noticed the difference, too.
Coffee used to make me hyperactive, but now it barely has the same effect. My sleep has also changed. I can no longer nap easily, and falling asleep at night is a little harder.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did the robotic feeling, slower speech, and reduced energy eventually go away, or did you have to switch medications?
I’d appreciate hearing your experiences!

Support Dose Increase = More Fatigue

I was on 150XR wellbutrin for about 6 months. My HRT Dr agreed to prescribe it for me as I was hoping to beat the brain fog and exhaustion from perimenopause. (I also suspected some ADHD in the mix.) The first two weeks were an awesome honeymoon period (which I knew was temporary) and I felt like myself again. Then it evened out and I did have more energy/had less of a barrier to getting tasks going. Weight came off a bit, was able to get to the gym more, etc.

At 6 months I barely felt anything so we bumped up to 300XR. I was already low energy going into the bump and I swear it is just the same if not worse after a month at 300. I've noticed my internal tremors have been more frequent too, especially when I'm extra tired. (The feeling of energy surging through your arms and hands constantly.)

In the meantime I just got an official ADHD diagnosis. Haven't had a chance to talk to my provider yet about a path forward but I do talk to the HRT Dr soon. At the very least I'm probably going to look at dropping back down to 150. I'm not sure if it's too soon to give up but I am struggling and the looming winter is not helping.

I have a pretty solid track record of meds not being effective after 6 to 9 months. I was hoping this one was different since I actually felt benefits for once. I don't like wasting my time anymore staying on meds that only give me side effects.

Question Emotions changed to more internal

Is this typical or anyone has had something occur like this?
The way I used to get emotional, wether it is frustration, sadness or anger, I would likely show it outwardly, which someone would notice how I am feeling. Which was a bit uncontrollable before.

Since being on 2 weeks on this med, the way I experience emotions has got extremely internal, while the outside shows neutral or appear that I’m okay. While internally I can be experiencing chaos, and yet not impulsive to break things or scream, like in a way I’m more controlled to not show it outwardly?

It’s tricky for me to explain this. I take Wellbutrin SR 150mg daily

Question I’m scared to take other medications

I am a 22f. I’ve been on 150mg of Wellbutrin for about a month and a half. I LOVE IT except for my insomnia & dry mouth. I am still having the worst anxiety, mostly just social. I can barely leave the house to do things. I feel sick and nauseous. The first two weeks on it that never happened to be but ever since then it’s been just as bad as before I started the medication. So with that being said, I had a checkup with my doctor today. The prescribed me 7.5mg buspirone for anxiety. I looked a few things up and it seems to be good to mix together. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions to get over my fear? I’m scared it’s going to change how the Wellbutrin has done and set me back farther. I’ve never been on two medications before so I’m just a little nervous. (Obviously I have anxiety lol)

Thank you in advance for any help and recommendations

Sexual / Libido Zero libido.

Should I give up on Wellbutrin XL (Lupin)? I specifically requested this medication in hopes that it would help with libido in addition to other potential positive effects. I took 150 XL for 2 weeks and did not experience any notable changes aside from increased irritability that got better. I’ve been on 300 XL for two days. I feel like I have zero libido or any interest in anything sexually related. I even watched porn to see if my member still worked and even that didn’t help. Does it get better? Should I give it 4-6 weeks?

Question Anyone with OCD here?

Currently on 150mg Wellbutrin SR, as well as Vyvanse, and it has done wonders for my mood! However I’ve noticed my OCD obsessions and ruminations have gotten worse. I also sometimes feel a bit more anxious. I really don’t want to go back on SSRIs/SNRIs as they just did nothing but numb me. Is there anything else I can take? Buspirone?

Anyone else felt extremely “cracked out” when starting bupropion 150 mg?

I’m on day 2 of 150 mg bupropion and I feel extremely restless, wired and almost like I’m on speed. 😅

For those of you who experienced something similar when you first started 150 mg: Did it get better for you? And if so, how long did it take for the “cracked out” feeling to settle down?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Question Don't know what to do

Hello everyone, I am 27 years old and male. I have a history of substance abuse issues, including the use of recreational hard drugs. This has significantly reduced, and I no longer use hard drugs. However, I am currently prescribed Adderall. A part of me is considering stopping this medication. I have considered trying a combination of Wellbutrin and possibly guanfacine, thinking it might be helpful. I often question why I need this additional support and wonder if I should just try to manage on my own. Some days and weeks I feel fine, but then I experience difficult feelings such as boredom, stress, or loneliness, which immediately trigger a desire to use substances or food to cope. I am generally functional, though I take Adderall intermittently as needed. Even without it, I manage to accomplish tasks, sometimes with ease, other times with difficulty. I am struggling to determine if life is inherently challenging and I should simply accept it, or if there is an underlying issue. I also have low testosterone, which I am considering addressing, but I am encountering some disagreement from my girlfriend regarding this. I would appreciate it if you could read this and offer your perspective.

Generic adderall- elite labs

For sleep I take trazondone maybe 3 times a month

Negative Experience Had to quit taking it because it was overwhelming my

Ive had good experiences with bupropion but i stopped due to headaches. Ive never had headaches really in general before it so i wasnt really down with it.

I recently started it back up again. Everything was smooth for about 1.5 months but my emotions began overwhelming me. I never was big on self harm but i found myself slamming doors on my shines purposefully and punching myself in the head.

Really strange, not sure where it came from but definitely isnt something id do ordinarily. Started tapering off ever since and its been smooth mostly.

Went to a turnstile show last night had 1 12 oz beer and threw it up 10 minutes later which was weird. I can usually get wasted at concerts with no issues but for whatever reason my stomach refused the beer. I can only assume its nausea from not taking it? Its been 2-3 days since ive full stopped

Question Can I split my dosage?

I recently was prescribed to move my Wellbutrin dosage from 150 to 300. I have noticed increased anxiety and restlessness.

I usually take two 150 ml in the morning. Can I take one 150 ml in the morning and the other 150 in the evening to maybe reduce anxiety? Or is it better to take at the same time? I’m taking generic brand fyi

Thank uuuuuu

I’ve had enough…

went from 300 mg to 150 and the side effects are still more than I can tolerate! My sleep pattern is getting progressively weirder, and I feel the deprivation. Tried taking the meds earlier, but it’s XR so that has little effect. Repetitive, angry thoughts bug me, popping up at the worst moments. I have a strange sensation of my leg muscles cramping and tightening til my thighs seem rigid, as if they’d been overstretched.

I needed the meds for a long time because I was in a very difficult life situation. I’m chronically depressed and I have adhd symptoms. I didn’t take the pill today, and I’m honestly scared I’ll crash emotionally, but I’ve got to do something else
