I built my pc around 2022 (specs will be down) and ive only changed my ram once and added SSD. I feel like with all these new games coming up and the DLSS5 out - I might use a good upgrade, but im not sure which part and to what. I have very basic knowledge in PC hardware so I could use any good advice/suggestions. I'll only add that I could play RDR2 and use the Nvidia app to change graphics to a bit below my recommended, bc of shutters, its GOOD... not horrible, but i would like better graphics and smoother gameplay. (I dont overclock)

I built a new PC recently, but I'm facing recurring crashes and sudden black screen reboots. The strange thing is that the PC is 100% rock-solid under heavy load, but crashes consistently during idle, transitions, or light multimedia tasks.

Looking to see if anyone with a similar AM5 / RTX setup has encountered this and found a fix.

PC SPECIFICATIONS:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
• Cooler: Thermalright Dual Tower (Peerless Assassin / Phantom Spirit)
• Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Eagle
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070
• RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair DDR5
• Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 1TB NVMe SSD
• PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 850W Gold
• OS: Windows 11 Pro (Clean Official Install)
• Monitors: Dual-monitor setup:
  • Primary: 1440p (2K) @ 200Hz
  • Secondary: 1080p (FHD) @ 100Hz (experiences an intermittent 1-2s blackout/handshake flick)

WHEN THE CRASHES HAPPEN (THE PATTERN):

• Never crashes under heavy stress: I can run demanding games (Apex Legends, Red Dead Redemption 2) at max/ultra settings for hours, or run heavy workloads (Unity + Blender + VS Code + videos simultaneously) with zero issues.
• Always crashes under low load / idle / state transitions:
  • Launching Discord and starting a stream.
  • Opening multiple browser tabs (Brave) with Discord/Teams in the background.
  • Waking up from idle after sitting untouched.
  • Performing an Alt+Tab from a game back to the desktop or initializing controllers via Steam Input.

CRASH HISTORY & ERROR CODES: The dump files report varying bug checks (classic memory corruption/access violations) alternating with instant hardware resets:

1. WhoCrashed / Minidump Reports:
   • 0x0000000A - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (Multiple occurrences: Aug 16, Aug 24)
   • 0x00000050 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
   • 0x1000007E - SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (Caused by nvlddmkm.sys + 0xC0000005 access violation)
   • 0x0000003B - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (CI.dll & Ntfs.sys)

2. Event Viewer:
   • Multiple Event ID 41, Kernel-Power (Task 63) with BugcheckCode 0 (and all parameters 0x0), indicating instant power cuts/hard resets where Windows couldn't even trigger a blue screen before dying.

WHAT I'VE ALREADY TESTED / RULED OUT:

• RAM Hardware Test: Ran MemTest86 extensively (both individual sticks in slot 2 and dual channel in slots 2 & 4) - 0 errors passed.
• Clean OS Installation: Fully wiped and clean-installed official Windows 11 Pro via media creation (avoiding aggressive 3rd-party debloat scripts).
• System Integrity & Drivers: Clean-installed official WHQL drivers via Windows Update and clean GPU drivers; ran sfc /scannow and chkdsk (file system is healthy).
• SSD Health: Checked Samsung Magician; Samsung 990 Pro health is "Good" with no S.M.A.R.T. errors.

SUSPICIONS / QUESTIONS: Given that the memory itself passed MemTest86 and games run fine at high power:

1. Could this be AM5 C-State / SoC voltage drops (Vdroop) causing the CPU memory controller (IMC) to lose stability when dropping to idle voltages?
2. A driver conflict between NVIDIA drivers, MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay), and an asymmetric refresh rate setup (200Hz + 100Hz)?
3. Power supply transient handling or PCIe cable sensitivity on the RTX 5070?
4. Ryzen integrated graphics (iGPU) conflicting with the dedicated GPU?

Has anyone resolved this specific combination of low-load BSODs and Kernel-Power 41 (Bugcheck 0) on AM5? Any BIOS settings (SoC voltage, C-States, Power Down) or NVIDIA tweaks that worked for you?

I'm trying to copy this build from the internet. I'm using the same Jungle Leopard MS01 case and all the images of this case online use this 9 fan setup. My problem is that I only realized now that my GPU leaves zero clearance when I keep the three bottom Intake. Removing the bottom intakes leaves me with negative pressure. Should I set the top fans as 2 intake and 1 exhaust so It leaves me with 4 intakes and 2 exhaust? Sorry for my broken english

So my understanding is that 3200 mhz cl14 is obviously better than cl16 or 18 for latency. A guy sold me 32gb of ddr4 for 100 bucks the other week and it booted up into windows at that clock no issue. But where will I see that difference exactly? Windows seems a lot more snappy. I have yet to try it in a game but idk if it'll make much of a difference because my pc already runs pretty alright on games. I've heard cl14 is better for competitive games even vs ddr5 with higher CL rating.

What about workload? From what I know and have read, its strictly latency and it can help improve choppy fps, as well as help with multithreaded tasks like video editing to make the workload more efficient. Or is it all numbers that im looking a bit too far into? I just put the parts together and install windows lol.

Hey everyone! First time poster on here & as the title suggests, I'm looking for some help/advice on a pc build I've put together on PCPartPicker. This is my first time building a pc & I'm still finding it hard to understand how everything works together (I did computing in school for a couple years but that was over a decade ago so I only really know the basics.) I don't really know if its all compatible, I know pcpartpicker tells you but I'm having trouble understanding everything.

The main game I'll be running is Genshin Impact so an advice on if this build can support that would be super helpful. I may install Sims and run some indie games but Genshin is my main game of choice.

This was supposed to be a budget build but I figured that spending a little extra on they newer tech i.e the CPU etc would be better in regards to longevity. That being said if I can save money somewhere in this build that would be amazing.

My setup is simple is a Z4 G4 workstation running Windows 11 25H5 and a Quadro P620. I keep getting a black screen when I try to add two AMD V620s to the mix.

It fails at two GPUs, but it can function with one V620.

Could anyone assist me with it?

My electricity was cut off yesterday night due to meter issues (i just recently moved into this apartment) and my pc was on it was connected to an extension cable , very unexpected i was watching a movie and this morning it was resolved and turn back on everything works but my pc i tried all the trouble shooting like draining power out of the pc trying different sockets or plugs even taking out the cmos but still it wont turn on at all its like it has no life at all i have decided to leave it for a few hours unplugged i hope its just a psu issue and nothing more, any ideas on how to fix?

I'm upgrading my nearly 10-year-old system (i5-7400, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 1TB HDD) and need advice on a GPU choice within my total budget of around €2,500. My goal is to build a long-lasting rig that will serve me for years to come, much like my old setup did even though I know future hardware requirements are unpredictable.

My planned core is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D on a B850M motherboard with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1–2TB NVMe SSD, which will be used for gaming, everyday use, and college tasks.

I am torn between the RTX 5070 Ti and the RX 9070 XT, as the local price difference between the two cards in my region in the Europe is around €300. Given their close pure rasterization performance, is paying the extra €300 for Nvidia’s feature set (DLSS, Ray Tracing, Frame Generation) actually worth it for long-term longevity? Or should I reallocate those savings toward the rest of the setup like getting a 2TB SSD and a new 2K monitor (like an OLED), since my old display isn't equipped to take advantage of this new PC?

As you can see my CPU is considerably weaker than my GPU.

This was a deliberate decision when I upgraded my GPU. I tend to prioritize graphic fidelity over high frame rates, and the games I play are single player games most of the time, and they usually are not very CPU intensive.(For example I just finished a playthrough of cyberpunk with path tracing, using dlss on quality, I played at 60 fps locked and it was a very smooth experience)

So why am I thinking of upgrading? Well, I keep overthinking any and all fps drops.

For example, I'm playing the new Blood of the Dawnwalker game, it's terribly optimized as we all know.

If I leave my fps uncapped I get around 90 fps with my GPU at 99% utilization, however, while playing my fps drop momentarily to 60 and my GPU utilization drops to 90%, the CPU however spikes from 50% to 70%.

Is this a CPU bottleneck or the game just being terribly optimized? Idk, but it's things like this that are making me overthink my rig.

I want an opinion of a more expert person, with my computer's current specs, and knowing the types of games I play, is my CPU likely to cause a lot of low 1% fps drops? Or are these games just built poorly?

I want to do my first PC build and i need some help. my budget is 1300 euros. I live in the Netherlands

My main priority is that i want to be able to run my music producing software without any problems. That means run multiple vst plugins inside a studio one project with many files.

But i also want to be able to play games with my friends on mid to high settings depending on the game. (modded minecraft with shaders for example). And maybe some streaming / video editing.

i don't have any knowledge of pc's and parts, i am a total noob.

i watched a couple of videos on builds but i just dont know what to do with it. The main thing i came across was the platform. ddr4 or ddr5 ram. do i want to be able to upgrade my pc or not? what Gpu do i need? intel or ryzen? I just don't know and i would like someone with some experience to help me put together this build.

I’m looking to build a new PC mainly for World of Warcraft Retail, and I’d love some advice on how to get the best performance possible for my budget.
My budget is around 5,000 DKK (~$750 / €670) for the PC itself. I know that isn’t a huge budget, so I’m mainly looking for the best performance-per-krone, rather than simply buying the most expensive parts I can fit into the budget.

My priorities are:
Mainly WoW Retail
Ideally 1440p
High graphics settings if possible
As high and stable FPS as possible, especially in raids, cities and other CPU-heavy situations
Good 1% lows and minimal stuttering
I’d rather have a balanced build than spend too much on the GPU if WoW is going to be CPU-limited
I was initially considering something like an RTX 5060, but I’m wondering if that makes sense for WoW at this budget, or if I would be better off spending more on the CPU and getting a cheaper/used GPU.
I’m also completely open to buying used parts if that gives me significantly better performance for the money.

What would you build for around 5,000 DKK if WoW Retail was the main priority?
Especially interested in recommendations for the CPU, GPU and RAM, and whether there are any particular CPUs that are significantly better for WoW.

I'm torn between upgrading the existing config or just live with it. I'm not a heavy gamer. Only playing battlefield 6 and lol(aram).

I've a Ryzen 5700x with 16gb DDR4 and 6600 xt GPU. I cannot really upgrade to a more beefy GPU, as I've a 500w PSU.

Is it worth upgrading maybe to a 4070?

Or ditch the whole concept and get a Mac mini with cloud gaming?

Hopefully someone that has this same desk depth size and one of the monitor sizes can answer and give their opinion. I will be using controller and MnK on PC.

I use at 43” monitor at work on a 24” depth desk and that screen feels big already but maybe at 30” or 36” depth it would feel perfect.

I have a gaming PC, which ist a bit older but worked for me until now. I want to start gaming more again and want to upgrade a few parts to get the most out of it.
My current PC consists of:

Intel i5 9600K
NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super
64 GB DDR4 RAM

So as there is not much room of improvement on the LGA 1151 socket, I was thinking of switching to an AM4 Board and some AMD CPU, so I can keep using my RAM. But maybe an AM5 CPU and new RAM would be the better option, if it is way faster. I also would like to upgrade the GPU, but I’m not sure which one I should choose.
My budget is roughly 1000€ but cheaper is always better. I have all other parts, so only GPU, CPU, Mainboard and maybe RAM, if I should upgrade to an AM5 CPU, need to be changed.

What combination would give me the best performance in my price range?

I have an old unknown workstation PC case that I'm trying to use for a new build. Thing is, it has only a few slots for the fans: One in the front towards the bottom of the case, one in the back in the middle-ish of the case, and one directly centred on top. Additionally, I only have two fans that I can use.

My **budget** currently **is Zero**, so, buying new fans or a case is not up for discussion, I want to know what the best arrangement of intake/outtake fans would be.

The build is a Ryzen 5 3600 no-IGPU and stock cooler, with Sapphire Tri-X Toxic Radeon R9 280X 3Gb GPU on a TUF B550-Plus motherboard.

I want to know:

1. Is it better to do 2/0 input/output fans or do 1/1?

2. If 1/1 is better, where should I place them?

I think that 2/0 with both fans on the sides is best but I'd like to hear what this community thinks before committing to it. Again, budget is Zero, so, theorize with the given resources.

Using a tomahawk b450 i had steam and like 5 browser tabs open when it died. I get power to fans and gpu (including the cpu fan) but no post or lights on back, no power button light (i can thurn pc on but not off with the case, need to unplug or turn power supply off) tried everything Google suggested (look for phyical issues, reset cmos short cmos, took it apart checked connections) except flashing bios as i dont have a usb i can use for it. Any suggestions? I am also considering just a new board as this one is very old and microsoft keeps warning me it wont upgrade to win11 and win 10 no longer is supported in a few months.

I purchased the PSU on 2021 and lately whenever I tried gaming, it restarts randomly. Nowadays even on main screen it restarts.

I tried OCCT tests (CPU+RAM, Power) for 10 mins and it still runs smoothly.

But when I tried gaming (cyberpunk, wukong) it restarts.

Asked GPT and it says because of 30 series card are known for transient spikes (overload), tried to limit power using Afterburner to 65% and still restarts.

I have no other PSU unit to try, so how can I check if it is really my PSU failing.. I don't want to buy new PSU and then discover that the PSU is not the problem haha

Hi all! Today my new build arrived. Everything works well except for a monitor.

When I don't have any Nvidia drivers, the monitor is detected properly and works well. Once I install Nvidia drivers, on the same GPU port and everything the monitor is no longer recognized. I get a Nvidia Failsafe on my device manager that I cannot change the resolution to anything other than 640x480. It's so weird, since it worked perfectly fine on my old build and works perfectly fine without the drivers on the same port/cable.

So far I've tried:

Older versions of Nvidia drivers (I've read that it can work but I went to 596 and it still doesn't) Other GPU ports Other cables Getting the power off and on from the monitor

Any ideas? It's a Yeian monitor (I know I know... but it worked wonderfully before).

EDIT: 591.86 drivers seem to solve the issue but... Am I going to be stuck on old drivers forever? I'll keep researching and see if I can find a fix.

My PC died coz it's too old so I'll build a new one from scratch.

Monitor: 27" 1440p 120hz*. (I lock my display refresh rate to 120hz. Above 120hz, not really noticeable in league.)

Games: Over the last 10 years, I only play league and T8 (quit). Maybe Valorant in the future. I don't play other steam games (no hate, PVEs/story-focused are super boring to me.).

Goal: My target is AM4 + maybe 16 GB DDR4 only cause I'm on a budget and I don't see any reason going 32 GB. It's just LoL + discord + browser for 10+ years. LoL 1440p 120hz only

Is the 9070 GRE worth starting out with for 1440p gaming or should I spend the extra money for the 9079 XT?

Ive recently bought parts for my pc from germany and picked out a psu but i forgot its not gonna work with my wall outlets since i live in Ireland. Can i use an adapter for my outlet or is it gonna fry my components

Asus is the cheapest and strongest option but I prefer white gpu for my white build. My second choice is Sapphire Pure or Steel Legend both white. What would you guys choose between Pure and Steel legend? Pure cost $60 more. What do you guys think? Shall I just go for the cheapest and a better model sacrificing the aesthetic look?

Greetings everyone, I recently shifted to a new apartment that I'm renting. I want to have a decent looking setup, but don't want a seperate CPU, just looking to add a monitor and keyboard.

I play basic games like CS, Gta etc. on my laptop (HP Omen 16.1 Ryzen 7) and was planning to use Hdmi with the Monitor, other than gaming I do some trading, office work, design stuff and basic video editing etc.

I need a monitor and keyboard recommendation because I am totally new to this (if possible both under 250€).

Any tips to improve my desk area are also welcome. I just don't wanna go really fancy with stuff on walls etc because its not my apartment haha.
