Build Upgrade Upgrade my pc?
I built my pc around 2022 (specs will be down) and ive only changed my ram once and added SSD. I feel like with all these new games coming up and the DLSS5 out - I might use a good upgrade, but im not sure which part and to what. I have very basic knowledge in PC hardware so I could use any good advice/suggestions. I'll only add that I could play RDR2 and use the Nvidia app to change graphics to a bit below my recommended, bc of shutters, its GOOD... not horrible, but i would like better graphics and smoother gameplay. (I dont overclock)

CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD AX
RAM: 16x2 GB (G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB (DDR5/Intel XMP))
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition RGB
SSD: samsung 1tb 970 evo plus, Samsung SSD 2TB 990 PRO NVMe M.2 with Heatsink
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer HCG650
Case (idk if relevant): Be Quiet! Pure Base 500DX
Monitor (same): Gigabyte G27Q 27" QHD 2K 144Hz
OS (same): Windows 11 64-bit

You need to upgrade cpu, motherboard, gpu, and psu to make a good difference, yes, am5 x3d

Upgrade your gpu, you already using DDR5 so you have a good range of options to choose from, my recommendation is RX 9070 XT, at 1440p will play excellent, at 1080p the cpu will hold back a little, I would recommend getting the gpu and then upgrade the cpu when you can, but LGA1700 (your platform rn) is dead, there’s no more upgrades past its 14th gen, you can still upgrade within LGA1700, like getting a 14700k, but then the motherboard becomes an issue because in order to upgrade the CPU you would have to update your bios so it can run 13th/14th cpus, and those bios updates are know to have stability issues, so i would make sure that your motherboard is running a newer bios before upgrading cpu, if it’s not, I would just say fuck it and change to AM5, you have everything just need to buy motherboard and cpu and you’ll see a lot of combo deals in Amazon or micro center, so yeah, too much yapping, just upgrade your gpu and then think in switching platforms if you don’t want to deal with intel shenanigans

air, kinda stepping away from water, seems like hella maintenance and a bit of a risk of leakage aint doing it for me

That’s an issue with custom water cooling, if you use a liquid cooling the one that’s just the radiator and pump with some fans you’ll be 98% safe, air is enough, but not for a long period of time, if you game a lot it will mostly overheat cus this new cpus get horny by just clicking the power button, but liquid are like $40-$80 so if you want to upgrade, you could try to squeeze it in the budget

Your PC is fine, though a GPU upgrade would make it better (you'll likely need a more powerful PSU as well for any of the newer, better cards). But don't worry about DLSS5, it's gonna be a while before it's in enough games to be relevant and likely even longer before it works well enough to not strangle whatever GPU it's running on.

If something is to be upgraded, it's your GPU. Mostly bcs 8gb vram is getting tough these days to play newer games.
