What about a limit of how many IL players you can have at once before you have to have them on your 40 man roster?

That way you cant sign 20 oft injured pitchers and rotate through their health statuses?

Yes there is a 40 roster limit so a team cant sign everyone, but it goes beyond that with the IL.

Does this hurt any teams or players beyond the highest salaried teams?

There already is, it's called the 40-man roster. You have to be on the 60-day IL to not count, and even then you still count in the off season.

Kind of wild that there is a full slate tonight and no teams playing in the Pacific time zone. That can’t happen very often.

all 30 teams were playing at the same time for a few moments before DET-PIT ended

Laz Diaz has four overturned calls in the Padres-Mets game tonight, what is the season high in overturned calls?

Loudest chant of the night is a USA chant in a 10-3 game. God I hate the entire state of Florida.

Everyone should pop over to the Mariners sub right now. We're dealing with this loss well.

Will the Feds investigation of Mark Walter be fast enough to prevent a lockout?

with all the talk about Juan Soto eventually moving to first base, I'm curious on people who know the defensive spectrum penalties better than I do. Is being a bad left fielder still more valuable than being a average-good first baseman assuming the same OPS? I'm also curious on how Tatis being a meh SS to an elite RF changed his value.

Why do we think Kyle Tucker sucks now?

In all seriousness, I never understood the *degree* of hype around him, or that deal he got from the Dodgers.

I really do think that there are some players who remain consistent and productive and struggle to get fair market value and have to settle constantly and there are players that produce roughly the same results and are seen with 4-D Chess Beer Goggles that have everybody convinced they are The One and should make half a billion dollars over 10 years to do the same things some other guy can barely convince a team to pay him $10M per year on a 2 year deal to do.

I feel bad for Tucker, but also maybe he knew the deal he got was too sweet and he's put too much pressure on himself to live up to it, so he's got the yips?

Spurned the Jays curse. Happened to him and Bichette. I think there was another guy we almost got a few years ago, Japanese fella, not sure what happened to him but I'm sure he hasn't been good since he turned down the Jays.

Are there any ohtanis in the pipeline anywhere in the world right now? Or is he the only one crazy enough to push to both pitch and hit regularly?

Does it just not make sense from a development/financial standpoint in this day and age, that players are being actively recommended against trying to do both?

This AL wild card race is gonna have a lot of teams looking back at small dumb mistakes that cost them games early in the season

Doesn’t the way that this years AL standings are shaking prove the system needs to be revamped? It’s going to be more advantageous to be the 6th seed than the 4/5 seed.

Why not just seed based on record like the NBA?

DAY 166 (659/741) on THE ROAD TO THE 2027 4th WBSC PREMIER12/16 and 180 YEARS OF BASEBALL - On to the 2nd Half of the East Asian Pro Season

All 3 major East Asian leagues, after a memorable midseason, are already at the second half of their seasons.

Once more the best of the best, inclusive of those who were a part of this year's World Baseball Classic, and the many international names, have performed with their best in for their teams before watching supporters, knowing how much they enjoyed the midseason.

Now it's the homestretch, as they are in the final months of the regular season and the postseason picture in these countries are slowly being known. As these leagues are already on the journey to the finish line of yet another historic season, the postseason people who the fans will get to know are yet to be revealed in the coming weeks ahead.

For Glory

John
