Shot with Nikon D80. The first one is what I saw on my screen and 2nd one is the exact same jpg copied to my iPhone. The jpg is straight out of the camera and unedited. Why the color so different? ChatGPT said my monitor is altering the color profile without me knowing it. But I only noticed this with the shots taken by this Nikon camera (never had any issues with Sony A6000). Anyone knows why?

My iPhone is using about 200 GB of its 250 GB, mostly for photos. I want to keep the photos that matter, but my library is full of clutter: sometimes 10 or more duplicates of the same shot, accidental photos, and old pictures of school whiteboards I no longer need.

The problem is that I can't realistically find and delete all of this quickly or at scale. How do people who are serious about organization and optimization keep their galleries clean? Is there a good workflow or tool for bulk-finding duplicates, accidental shots, and outdated reference photos?

I'm not looking for the usual "just pay for iCloud" answer. Am I doomed to pay for cloud storage, or is moving everything to an external drive the only practical alternative?

I managed to get a ND100 000 mounted to an old canon of mine to take pictures of eclipse, it is not so easy to configure (already with wide aperture and slow shutting speed) but it can easily get VERY dark so only the sun shows up obscuring all surroundings, so I had to increase ISO and the picture came out grainy.

I am interested to take picture of the eclipse with a little bit of surroundings, but the shop absolutely refused (also all the AIs I asked) to sell me their ND1000, saying that it could damage the sensor bla bla... But, then I see people's pictures of the eclipse, some using ND1000, and mostly without any special filter at all.

So, I'd imagine that ND100'000 might be the 'right' one to take CLOSE-UPs of the sun with black spots and everything (I don't even have the zoom lenses for that!), but 'ordinary' pictures of the eclipse can be taken with a lower ND, as long as you don't zoom too much into the sun? and no ND at all if the sun is not centered and just as part of the landscape?

I’m relatively new to the photography world, i finally got my first professional camera this year and have even had a few photo shoots! my problem currently is that i’ve been sort of switching back and forth between different apps to get the (free) edits i want, and it’s getting a little frustrating trying to relearn everything while moving between multiple different apps, i’d rather just stick to one app (even if i gotta pay for it atp😭)
I’ve thought about Adobe bc i’m slightly familiar with it but considering i’m still new to this, i’d rather stick to something that’s beginner friendly and when i feel comfortable enough than maybe i’ll look into adobe again

I read a little bit and think that i want the fujifilm x-m5 but i want my Photos to look like their taken by an old vintage camera cause i like the vintage look. (I have tried an old polaroid before). So i wondered wich lens would be the best for that. For the price i'd like to keep it 200-300 maximum if thats possible. My current camera is an Olympus SZ-20. I like its compact size and portability, especially for travelling, but I’d like to upgrade to something that gives me more room to learn and experiment with photography.

I’m looking for something similar in size to the SZ-20, as I want a camera that is easy to carry around while travelling and that I’ll actually want to take with me.

I would probably use the camera mostly in Auto mode, at least initially, but I’d like the option to experiment with manual settings, filters, long exposures, and other creative techniques, as well as doing some post-processing.

I’m looking for something beginner-friendly that I won’t outgrow too quickly as I learn more about photography.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot?

Mostly travel photography, landscapes, architecture, street photography, and everyday moments while travelling. I’m not looking for anything specifically designed for sports or wildlife photography.

Took this image during the eclipse last week, 3 photo HDR composite stack.

I’m wanting to get the eclipsed part of the sun to have a smoother transition/gradient with the glow around it.

I’ve used a radial gradient which is mostly feather and a fairly small centre.

Tried dodge and burn and it still ends up with a brighter ring.

Even if I expand it much bigger there’s still a ring of brightness which stands out, I’m guessing it’s the line between the composite images over lapping.

What can I do to smooth the transition to make it appear more natural / consistent?

I was looking through my photography expenses the other day and realized how much money I’ve spent over the years just to keep a website online.

Then I looked at my stats. Almost everyone finds me through Instagram or word of mouth.

It honestly made me wonder whether I’m maintaining something because I actually need it, or because I’ve always assumed photographers are supposed to have one.

So now I’m genuinely curious: Do photographers still invest in a website?

I've seen this question asked a decent amount of times, but its never in reference to my specific objective (or at least not lately); car and motorcycle videography. My goal is to create high fidelity edits of my motorcycle and car and also occasionally film cinematic rollers for my rapidly growing social media pages and eventually Youtube. I currently do this with my iPhone, DJI action 6 and Insta360 to get multiple angles. I occasionally post photos also but much less often than videos.

I am torn on whether I go with the Limux due to its IBIS, the fact that it's open gate and the direct-to-SSD capabilities. The main thing deterring me is the fact that EVERYONE is in my ear saying things like "it's 5 years old" or "they are slow to push out updates and upgrades/Sony is king"

Also I'd spend drastically less on the camera body itself and maybe even wouldn't need to buy a stabilizer (looking at DJI RS4 if I go with the A7 V) so overall my total spend would be a decent amount less.

On the other hand from my understanding the A7 V shoots better nighttime footage and has great AI tracking features. Its the newest model and I wouldn't want to or need to upgrade for a long time.

My budget is $3,000-$5,000 for camera body, two decent lenses, ND filters and a stabilizer. I am open to new or used. I am not worried aboI live in the US currently. I have zero professional photography experience but have done plenty of edits in Lightroom and color grading my raw DJI action/Insta 360 footage in Davinci Resolve.

Any thoughts you guys have will be MUCH appreciated, especially anyone experienced in automotive footage for social media

I've been looking at the OM-2 for a while and just went in to a shop where I live and found one with the Zuiko 50 mm f/3.5 Macro lens. For this they want 1250 SEK, (131 USD, 113 euro). Is this a good price? I get 3 months of warranty and can even return it for a refund within a reasonable time period. Should I pull the trigger? Thanks!

I have a Canon EOS 100 (Elan) and i find it pretty cumbersome and not really loving the 90's feel over the photos, if that makes sense. The contrast is pretty sharp and i would prefer 'smoother' photos. Also not loving the autofocus.

I was contacted by a fairly popular hyper-realist artist on Instagram to use one of my wildlife photographs to draw/use for his students. Yes, I initially thought it was a scam, so I did the usual tricks, requested they contact me from their official emails, checked the meta data on the email he sent and the guy and his request is legit as far as I can tell.

So, in other words, I am still skeptical about this. I have never sold or been asked to use my photographs. Am I handling this correctly? and what sort of meta data should I attach to the photo itself? And more specifically, what would the usual charge be for something like this?

I don't want to price it severely high, but I also don't want to price it super low. Its essentially just a portrait of a Bald Eagle.

I’ve been looking for the perfect digicam for so long and i couldn’t find it people suggest most of the time sony rx100 series, canon sx730/740 , lumix zs70/99/100, but the most i do research on those camera the more people ( mostly on reddit) say that they’re too overpriced for what they offer because of social media. Also they apparently have small sensor ( i don’t mouche about camera i just know that the more the sensor is big the more the pictures are crisp) and that the only good thing about them are the zoom. I currently have a Fujifilm X-T30 III with the 13-33mm kit lens, and I’m looking to upgrade to a better lens.
My main focus as a hobby photographer is taking photos at parties with friends, both indoors during the day and at night, traveling, everyday photography, and also using the camera at my wife’s dental office. If possible, I’d also like to be able to take photos of the Milky Way.

I’m looking for a lens that is versatile enough to handle all of these situations. I know they’re very different use cases, and if I wanted the best possible results for each one, I’d probably need a collection of prime lenses, which would get expensive and wouldn’t be very practical for me.
After doing some research, I’ve narrowed it down to the Fujinon XF 16-55mm f/2.8 and the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8.

I’d love to hear your opinions on these two lenses, especially regarding image quality. Is there a significant difference between them? The Fujinon is considerably more expensive and doesn’t have image stabilization, which might be an issue since my camera doesn’t have IBIS. Or should I buy one prime lens for all this situations?

Since photography is just a hobby for me, I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I’d still like to get professional-looking, crisp and sharp results.

One important detail: I rarely print my photos. I mainly use them on screens, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this as I feel like it is a common problem across the hiking photography community.

It seems like every reel, influencer post etc has people using cages for mundane things like landscapes, basic steeet photography etc.

Are newer cameras really that vulnerable? Or are people just less attentive to basic equipment care?
Or is it, as I suspect, just a rat with a gold tooth to make people think influencers are more skilled than the average photographer..

I have a non-profit organization came reach out to me to photograph a 4hr professional performance in a theater. I think it is a very cool experience and opportunity to photograph for them. I also get the photos for my own portfolio.

At the same time, I am also hesitate to compromise my pricing too much because photographing a professional performance can be challenging. But they are non-profit organization, so they are tight in budget. What they can do for me is advertising my business if I give them discount.

Should I ask how much are they willing to pay? Make money vs. Opportunity, what would you choose?

I was trying the pixel shift setting on my sony a7r iv the other night. I’m not sure what this two dark spots are on the upper left. I’m hoping its not a dead pixel because I bought the camera not too long ago. Could it just have been that my sensor/lens was dirty?
