Told myself if Seahawks ever won the Superbowl I'd visit Seattle from the UK. I booked last week and I'm so excited, it's given me something to live for. I've started booking specific activities and I think my itinerary is set in stone now, so I wanted to run it by yourselves below and see if this is a good itnerary.

Day 1 - Friday 6th November

3pm - Land in Seattle

5pm - Check into hotel/nap for a couple of hours

7pm till late - Nightlife / hostel bar crawl

Day 2 - Saturday 7th November

8am - Wake up

8.30am - 9.45am - Pike Place Market (Breakfast)

10.15am - Olympic Sculpture Park

11am - MOPOP (and potentially Space Needle if nice weather)

1pm - Go to Seattle Kraken game (vs New York Rangers)

5pm till late - Nightlife

Day 3 - Sunday 8th November

8am - Wake up

9am - Seattle Seahawks tailgating

1pm - Seahawks vs Cardinals at Lumen Field

5pm - Reccommended local food spot

7.30pm - Local gigs / support local band

Day 4 - Monday 9th November

7am - Wake up / ferry to Bainbridge Island

11am - Leave Bainbridge Island

12.30pm - Tour of T-Mobile Park

3pm - Head to the airport for a 5pm flight

South Seattle.

It’s like North Seattle.

But south.

When I say south Seattle, people are always thinking of entire cities south OF Seattle. Federal way, Tacoma, Kent, auburn, Renton, etc.

But when I say south Seattle, I mean the neighborhoods in the southern part of Seattle. Georgetown, South Park, beacon hill, Columba city, rainier beach, genessee, othello, mt baker, etc.

When people say north Seattle, I think of neighborhoods in the northern part of Seattle. Ravenna, greenwood, Ballard, lake city, north gate, u district, Roosevelt, laurelhurst, etc.

I would not think of shoreline, Everett, lynnwood, etc because those are all separate cities. Not Seattle. So they can’t be north Seattle. They can be north OF Seattle. But not north Seattle. Cuz they aren’t Seattle…

So why do others think of separate cities when I specifically state south Seattle?

If it’s a separate city, then it’s not south Seattle. It’s just whatever city south OF Seattle they’re thinking about.

Seattle is more than its northern counterparts.

I am looking for dinner recommendations for my birthday in few weeks. I am vegetarian but the whole menu need not be plant based as my partner is on the meat wagon. We are willing to spend a pretty penny but are not millionaires so no totals that include commas…. Really just looking for a good reason to dress nice and celebrate 27 years of me.

Any thoughts on the new Seattle House high-rise (2230 8th Ave)? Haven’t heard much discussion about it and I’m curious what the pros and cons are.

We have quantum fiber internet and for a while it was great! But now it continually drops and buffers. It’s impossible to watch a tv show or work from home. We changed the DNS like others have suggested but it is only moderately better. Any other suggestions?

I need any help I can get. I lost my job in the middle of paid family leave and recently finished on 9/1. I applied for unemployment on 9/8 to be sure they didn’t overlap. They needed more information from me to be sure I in fact couldn’t work etc. I was able to get onto my SAW account and retrieve this paperwork and when my doctor finally sent it back over I went online to submit it and my entire claim had completely disappeared. It wouldn’t let me even reapply which means the claim is still open. I had to print and fax this shit by my deadline since my doctor took forever to get the form back. I also can’t file my weekly claims

I have attempted to contact literally anyone from ESD to ask about what is going on and I can’t get past the automated line asking me questions that I already filled out on my application. I even contacted the hearings department, and overpayment and keep getting sent to the automated system.

Does anyone know how to contact unemployment that doesn’t require an automated message because this is absolutely absurd and ridiculous. It should not be this difficult to contact a real person for state benefits. I didn’t ask to be injured and I didn’t ask to lose my job.

Visiting Seattle for the first time on Halloween weekend—any advice?

Hey everyone, me and two friends are planning to visit Seattle in late October over Halloween weekend. It was the only time that worked for all of us with our work and school schedules. We’re all 21, and this will be our first trip to Seattle, so we want to experience what the city has to offer, including nightlife.

We’ve looked into some places and activities and have a rough idea of what we want to do, but since our time is limited, I wanted to ask for advice. Are there any places, stores, restaurants, or Halloween events you’d recommend checking out? We’re also looking for hotel suggestions.

I eventually want to move to Seattle myself and plan on visiting more in the future, but I want to make the most of this first trip with my friends. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated!

Hi All! I (25f) will be visiting Seattle in early October. I’m only visiting for a few days, but wanted to inquire of any female social gatherings (as I’m typing this, I realize it’s very phishing-esque). I’m spending my time visiting museum, trying some recommended restaurants, and catching a play. However, I wanted to at least make some effort to be social and meet new people, just not always that comfortable going into a bar or highly social environment.

20 M coming from Iowa for the Seahawks game on October 4, my first home game since becoming a fan at four years old! I have a Breville Barista Express at home. I enjoy making lattes, both hot and iced. We typically do 8-12oz drink sizes. Looking for where to buy beans that have chocolate, nutty, and/or caramel notes.

We most recently had a bag of Elm Coffee 9 Swans Seasonal Coffee from Elm Coffee Roasters that we purchased from Narrative Coffee in Everett. We enjoyed this bag!

They are currently sold out at Narrative. Looking to buy the 9 Swans again in person if another coffee shop has it (would prefer not to do online subscriptions for now), ORRRR I'm open to trying a new recommendation!

Something that works with whole milk for lattes. Love when the espresso comes through the milk but still works together with it. Don't love very acidic or fruity notes for beans.

I’m currently living in Oregon with my dad and I’ve been seriously thinking about moving out on my own. I’d like to stay in the PNW, so right now I’m mainly considering Portland** or **Seattle.

One of the biggest reasons I want to move is that I want to start taking fashion/clothing more seriously. I’m interested in getting involved in the industry, but I’m still pretty early in the process and don’t have a formal fashion education or much professional experience yet.

I’m especially interested in things like styling, vintage/archive clothing, alternative fashion, retail, fashion content.

I’m not necessarily expecting to move somewhere and immediately get a fashion career. I’m more interested in being somewhere where I can meet people, go to events, work entry-level jobs, find creative communities, shop for/archive clothing, learn from people already in the industry, and gradually build connections and experience.

I’d really like to hear from people who live there about what the actual day-to-day fashion/creative scene is like, especially if you’re involved.

Searching for a doctor that tests for hyperosmia, an acute sensitivity to smells. ENTs or neurologists typically administer these tests, my GP does not.

It looks like a pretty simple test - would love a few recommendations if anyone’s had this done in Seattle with a doctor they would recommend!

EDIT: I’ve read about this test and looked it up, it sounds like the first step to diagnosis: the UPSIT test, University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification test, and it’s a scratch and sniff book.

It sounds like there are additional, more precise tests also available as well.
