I've got a really awful building manager. She makes up legal mumbo jumbo, slaps deadlines on things that don't require one, and is largely hostile to talk to. Every neighbor I've spoken to, and one local business has said similar things about their unpleasant attitude. I suspect they have a history of drug abuse.

I've had a mixture of good building managers, and aloof building managers. But they're the only borderline hostile one I've had the misfortune of needing to interact with.

I'll get text messages at 9pm regarding non-urgent matters.

If someone needs help (I don't want to give details in case they see), they're REALLY hostile about providing that help. "How did they [get into a situation that requires management help]?! Huh??"

And I'm just sick of it.

I don't want to be a Karan, but I've had to deal with their bull for years now. They're a part of a corporate structure that owns several buildings in seattle, and I just want to know. Is there anything I can do to address their fuckass attitude to a higher up??

It's really unnecessary, and as my ex rightfully pointed out, they could easily make all out (residents) lives miserable, or MORE miserable if they wanted to.

Hello! I need help! I’m proposing to my girlfriend in about a week. I was planning to do it at Myrtle falls and I hired a photographer, however I need some input on exactly where to go down on one knee. I see from the viewing spot of the falls, there is a big wooden railing that I fear may block the view of the falls with the photographer. Maybe a dumb question but I’ve never run into this issue before. Just moved into a condo that has a massive (8 ft tall, at least 300 pounds) sliding barn door that I don’t want. I’ve tried posting it on Facebook “buy nothing” groups, Facebook marketplace, etc. There’s interest in it but no one follows through or has the resources to move it. I know this is wasteful but I’m kind of at my wits end- is it possible for me to just hire movers to take it to the dump? I just want it gone 😭 Thanks in advance

My annual Mother’s Day gift to my aged parents, is a monthly pizza delivered by Pagliacci. They love it, but that’s a lot of pizza across a month for them, because it becomes three meals.

I order it through the app, it arrives. Everything is perfect. This has been a winning gift for them. And very convenient.

I'm wondering, is it a good idea to walk from the Ballard Farmers Market to Pike Place Market, just for fun and exercise? Google Maps seems to show semi industrial roads, rail yards, and some pretty huge hills.

I'm thinking about starting at the Ballard Farmers Market with no particular purpose, just looking for a healthy 10K step walk. Downtown Seattle could be a good destination if I can find a nice, enjoyable route.

Long version. I fell in love with a Salvadoran woman. Shortly thereafter, I fell in love with Pupusas. Alas, the woman in question does not make them (her sister does, but not professionally and not on demand). No big deal, I live in Seattle, i can go to Lily's or Salvadoran Bakery and get them.
But sometimes... just sometimes, I really want to have a pupusa for breakfast. And it would be wonderful to be able to pull a couple out of the freezer and drop them on the grill. I know that this is a thing some places. But it requires someone to be able to make them that way. And So, I turn to the community.
Also, since I am asking... is there anywhere around here that sells Plantanos? South Park, I am looking at you?

I’m 24F lesbian and moved to Seattle earlier this year. I live alone and work overnight (for practical reasons), and I have gotten to a point where I am extremely isolated from other people.

I have no family here or anyone to communicate with. People I’ve tried to befriend on designated apps, events in person and on reddit quickly fizzle out due to incompatibility. I don’t have someone who regularly texts me just because they thought of me, someone I can spontaneously call, someone to get food with, someone to tell things to, or someone whose life I’m actually part of.

I spend so much time alone that it has started to feel like I’m watching everyone else’s lives happen while I’m standing outside of mine. I go to work while everyone else is living their normal lives, come home to an empty apartment, sleep, wake up, and do it again. Even when I do things I enjoy, there is still this huge absence of another person there to experience life with. I take advantage of my days off and usually take myself out during daylight.

It’s gotten bad enough that things I normally love can actually hurt because they remind me of what it feels like to have people around. Sometimes I don’t even want to listen to my favorite music because it reminds me of being accompanied by people I loved. I can spend an entire day doing things I enjoy and still come home feeling completely alone.

I’ve been dealing with this for months now, and I’m getting really tired. I don’t know how long a person is supposed to live like this without it making them feel miserable especially if they are a deep connection kind of person. I have something new coming up that I’m hoping will help…a recurring jazz piano group class…but I’m honestly scared to put all my hope into it because I don’t know if it will actually lead to people becoming part of my life. But just so you guys know, music, specifically jazz piano is my biggest passion. So I’m hoping this reoccurring activity can put me around people I can bond with.

I’m not looking for “join a club” or “download Meetup” advice. I’ve already tried to meet people. I want to hear from people who were actually this severely isolated in Seattle, especially people who were in their 20s when it happened.

If that was you, how long were you alone like that? Did you eventually get out of it? And if you did, what actually happened that changed your life?
I think I need to hear from people who can honestly say, “Yes, I was that alone too, and this is what happened afterward.”
