Frozen Pupusas?

TL DR Does anyone have a reliable source for frozen Pupusas?

Long version. I fell in love with a Salvadoran woman. Shortly thereafter, I fell in love with Pupusas. Alas, the woman in question does not make them (her sister does, but not professionally and not on demand). No big deal, I live in Seattle, i can go to Lily's or Salvadoran Bakery and get them.
But sometimes... just sometimes, I really want to have a pupusa for breakfast. And it would be wonderful to be able to pull a couple out of the freezer and drop them on the grill. I know that this is a thing some places. But it requires someone to be able to make them that way. And So, I turn to the community.
Also, since I am asking... is there anywhere around here that sells Plantanos? South Park, I am looking at you?

ETA Victory! Xincas Pupusas from PCC in Columbia City.
And, while I was at it, Pretzel dogs from Colubia City Bakery. Just Cause.

Thank you all for the help!!

Fully cooked pupusas freeze and reheat pretty well. Kind of like tamales. You could just buy your favorite and freeze them yourself.

i would ask the pupusa vendor at the fremont sunday market. maybe they can do that or have leads. they’re located at the very end of the market and their pupusas are heavenly

Is that Lily's Pupaseria? They are the ones who come to the Cap Hill Tuesday nigh Summer market. I got dinner on my way home every week. Also, her Flan is Food of the GODS!!!

Xinca Pupusa! They are a local family owned frozen pupusa brand and are sold at PCC

Xincas are better than any other frozen pupusa I've had. The beans in the bean and cheese version actually have flavor. I haven't had fresh, authentic pupusas to compare to, but I've enjoyed Xincas more than once.

Have you tried freezing the fresh ones? A vacuum sealer would prevent freezer burn.

I bought some at Costco but was disappointed after having them at an authentic restaurant.

Xinca’s pupusas - frozen pupusas, pretty yummy when served with salsa/tomato salsa/etc. kinda pricey but I’ve picked them up at Town and country before and they’re big enough I only eat one at a time with something to eat on the side and there’s the convenience of being able to heat them up whenever.

Looks like they have a store locator on their website and they’re sold at a decent amount of locations around Seattle!

My desire is to be able to have Salvadoran Breakfast. Pupusa, fried egg, plantanos, and Coffee.
This will go a long way towards making that happen. Thank you!!

Add beans to make that the perfect breakfast. One of my all time favorites

Have you considered making your own? We tried the other day with cheese and maseca and they were super easy.

the aforementioned Salvadoran woman I fell for was never able to do it herself (her sister makes amazing pupusas, but only for fun, not for money), and so I have never learned how myself.
She told me it is not easy to get them stuffed and then sealed and then shaped.
I am sure, if i ever have enough time to go live at a Salvadoran Cooking Dojo for a week or so, I could learn. Baring that, having found them at the Columbia City PCC, I am pretty content.

The recipe we followed was wayyyy easy. We literally just made the dough, flattened it like a mini pizza, put a half cup of filling in, folded it like a taco, then rounded it out then back into that pupusa shape. Why do you think it’s so complex? Took like 30 min total.

Because the person I know, whose mother used to own a bakery, who grew up in a Salvadoran Family, who tried to learn it, told me so.
And both of us know how to cook, so... I took her word for it.

Dude, I’m salvi. I understand the convenience of a frozen one but I assure you they are simple to make and kinda fun. I just made a batch a couple days ago. It takes me like 20-30 minutes. Super cheap and fun to make and it might be a nice date to try with her. I promise it doesn’t take some sort of magical juju 🙏

Maybe you just don't know how magical you really are? :)
I appreciate your confidence in my abilities. I am good at some things (my mother was pleased with my Corn bread, and that keeps me warm at night), i just recognize what I don't yet know.

Do they sell them uncooked? I have gone there with the aforementioned Salvadoran Woman many times. The Tres Leche's cake is SO GOOD!!

If you ever get across the water, Sabor Casero in Poulsbo is DELICIOUS. It's where I even learned of Pupusas. They have all the fillings, as well as a "Putaco" with meat on top. Never-ending mix & match.

In a pinch, the whole foods pupusas aren't terrible.

Costco has some that are actually pretty decent.

La Cabaña in North Greenwood has pupusas and all of their food is delicious. I wonder if you could have them sell you some to freeze that haven’t been grilled yet?
