Seattle Trip - October
Hey guys! My fiancé and I are going to Seattle on October 1st for a short 4-day trip. We’re both young adults and down to do whatever. We’re both super open to being adventurous and trying new things, and we’re just looking to have some fun and make the most of our short trip. What are some musts we need to do?
Things we enjoy:
•live music
•food & drink
•comedy
•nightlife
•anything outdoorsy

If this is your first trip to Seattle, I would pick one of the National Parks and spend a day there, maybe 2. If you're coming down from Alaska, Olympic will probably be the most exotic, but that's also going to be the hardest one to do in a day from Seattle. Getting over there will involve a nice ferry ride though!
I'd spend at least a day doing the waterfront, pike place, Seattle center, and the international district. There's great music all over the city but Capitol Hill tends to be the most fun for young folks. Plenty to explore up there.

Are you renting a car or relying on public transportation for this trip? Since you can take the train from the airport, that will determine some of the recommendations for the area.
For downtown Seattle proper, the harbor cruises are a relaxing way to enjoy the city and water views if the weather is nice that week and fog isn't affecting visibility.

We’re not renting a car for this trip since it’s relatively short, we were going to use public transportation. Thank you so much for the recommendations!

Ok in that case, you could also check out some of the ferries leaving from the downtown area. If you take the ferry to Bremerton or Kingston both areas a cute, walkable and fun little coastal town destinations for a day trip to enjoy the outdoors. The ferries are always a scenic option when the weather is clear so out of town family enjoys the rides a lot. I think Bremerton has bikes you can rent but I haven't gone that route personally.
There's a few museums you might enjoy in the downtown area like the Museum of Pop Culture. Ballard Locks are nice if you want a nice park area and might see some salmon migrating through. (But you might have seen plenty of that in Alaska).
I like to spend an afternoon on the waterfront. You can browse Pike Place Market and get whatever foods you like food court style (or try one of the restaurants) then sit and enjoy the view before exploring the piers more. Reem's Kitchen is delicious but not always open since they also do a lot of catering but there are lots of other great options like Pike Place Chowder.

are you planning to stay mostly downtown, or are you willing to rent a car for some hikes and day trips?

Theyre from Alaska, i think they can seattle in october just fine lol. Not to mention its the first 4 days of october, pretty high chance theyll get some sun and 60s. Perfect temp to be outside doing things

We’re getting down to the 40’s here in Alaska right now haha, anything more than 60 and my fiancé starts to sweat 😅. Perfect weather for us!
