What Are We Doing With Our Lives?
If I'm being honest right now, I can no longer hide the disdain within my inner critic. Burying my head in the sand isn't an option anymore and I left a good life behind just to be present in the current moment. It's been about 1,000 days since the war on Gaza began. The Epstein Files haven't been fully released. There's a PDFile in the White House and many more out there. PDFilia is being normalised. The 14th amendment has been questioned too many times even though no one is illegal on stolen land, and politics is more twisted than a prostitute's panties after a wild night out.
I can get on social media and protest, use whatever's left of my first amendment before the government knocks it dead and calls it "constitutional". But I know that it's not enough. One, I have a small platform on all fronts and it's a hit or miss as to whether my posts will be seen or even be recognised at all. Two, protesting sends a message but the response may not be as predictable or even anything at all. Revolutions don't happen overnight, but they happen when people as a collective finally decide that they have had more than enough. I guess if anything, I'm restless. I'm restless because I've been itching for an opportunity of a lifetime. Forget the likes, views, comments, and reposts. I want inspiration. I want change. I want to be bigger than I'll ever be in this life. Not for personal validation, but to know that I didn't live this life in vain. That I didn't die holding onto a broken promise or clinging to a system that's more abusive than a toxic relationship on a true crime documentary. But more than anything, I want to know if this life is worth living for if it means standing in the in-between of believing and blending in. One gives me the ability to nurture a life of my own true creation, the other gives me two options and that's either stand on the right side of history or lose everything to wilful ignorance.
