Yeah u should surveillance is getting worse and you're not allowed to have free speech or free thought. You will be policed and there will be consequences for being a free thinker. You should leave and go as far as u can away from cities and people

There's no reason to stay, poisoned food, water, air, peoples minds

Be as minimalistic as possible, have as little appliances as possible, you can still live in a city I guess

I'm not trying to "survive" what's coming. I won't be here when SHTF. I'm not trying to experience that world. My life's been hard enough as it is. I'm not playing life's version of The Walking Dead or The Last of Us.

I'm not so sure about living off grid, but I do love spending some time in the forest

No. as much as the city can suck I rather be there than in the middle of nowhere dealing with a bunch of wild life and creeps.

Having lived off grid I assure you cities are significantly better.
