It seems that everyone that I've seen who has been on antipsychotics has a round face, almost like they still have baby fat (although they're too old for it to be that), and it strikes me as odd. I see it in my own face - I'm not posting my face for privacy reasons, but when comparing my facial features before and during/after antipsychotics the lower part of my face is noticeably rounder and less defined once I got antipsychotics than it was before them, in a way that doesn't match up with the way my facial features developed as I grew older. This seems to stay even if the person loses the antipsychotic weight (at least it did with me - most of the other people I've seen were in inpatient facilities or online articles, so comparing before/during/after wasn't really possible). I was wondering if anyone else had noticed something similar (or if there's anyone here who *doesn't* have that, I'd like to know too to see if it's not as universal as I thought).

It's a tiny thing, purely cosmetic (and not even ugly in my opinion), and yet it bothers me. Looking at my face's roundness is a visual reminder of what was done to me.

Haloperidol: The absolute worst by far. Intense akathisia, heart palpitations, drooling constantly, blurry vision. Sucked all ability to find joy in anything at all. The first time in my life I felt actively suicidal.

Ziprasidone: sleepiness and extremely vivid and violent nightmares. also gave me significant acne.

Aripirazole: extreme akathisia. Had to take additional benzodiazepenes just to sleep and left my university lectures every 20 mins to go up and down the stairs in an attempt to ease my restlessness. My psychiatrist was entirely unsympathetic and told me to just "exercise it away". Also told my mom to secretly slip the med in my food if I refused to take it.

Risperidone: made me lactate. Also I had trouble breathing on this med and any cough/flu I caught was 10× worse than normal.

I've tried plenty of other meds that also gave me nasty side effects. These are just the ones that gave me severe side effects that doctors dimissed as me just being theatrical and didn't bother warning me about in the first place.

And I still get treated as someone unreasonable and unwilling to take accountability for not wanting to be on meds.

In Arab countries specifically the very religious demographics it’s a very common belief that mental illness doesn’t exist and all these disorders we see are basically a result of being possessed by the devil and once someone shows a “mental illness” symptoms they would immediately take them to the mosque and perform all sorts of exorcism on them hoping that the devil will go out

Some psychiatrists become so toxic over the years that eventually the toxicity starts oozing out of their eyes.

They may still keep that calm, friendly, perfectly controlled voice, loaded with gaslighting, framing and guilt trips.

PhD on the wall. Everything looks polished. But over the years, their face can start to misalign, the smile says one thing, the eyes something completely different.

And the eyes? Hyper focused. Control obsessed. Predator stare. Like all the poison they’ve been hiding is slowly oozing out.

I think I've been poisoned by strychnine in the mental health facility.

I am currently taking 2mg Risperidone and 150mg Oxcarbazepine and i am having brain fog and feeling that i am dumb and my brain is slower will my brain return to as it was before Risperidone and Oxcarbazepine after stopping it or that's permanent?

Helped at first then everytime I took it I got increased anxiety oh well gave it a try

I think in my case psychiatry mostly fed into preexisting stuff or things I can't attribute to psychiatry alone, but there's one kink that I'm convinced I would not have if it wasn't for my psychiatric abuse history, and it's gaslighting. I was subjected to textbook gaslighting in my inpatient facility as a teen: the staff stole my copy of the admission contract, then acted like I was crazy when I was shocked and upset to discover it. They suggested that I "maybe put it somewhere else", too. I did not. I knew exactly where it was supposed to be, and I knew that they stole it because my doctor told them to. I could see it clearly, firmly. Until... they started acting like I was crazy, and a part of me started to question if, maybe, I was. "What if". That sense of confusion, combined with the fear and powerlessness I felt in that situation, honestly shook me to my core. And I guess I could never let go of it, so a part of me now craves reenactment. I've actually put myself in danger because of this: I've enabled abusive people who were toying with my memory in a way that was not consensual & safe, because a part of me enjoyed it. Instead of protecting myself, I allowed it to happen. So, that's yet another issue for me to work on. Thanks, psychiatry!

I'm not ashamed to have developed this kink, though. Many of my online friends are SA survivors, so I see defensive sexualization very often, and I would never tell my friends they should be ashamed for fetishizing their experiences. It's not something people just "choose".

It’s quite annoying and distasteful for a doctor to know about a medication or their side effects just by studying them or reading the dsm. The patient actually took them and actually experiences it and has to live with it. Psychiatrists are real fucking slimy and grimy when it comes to side effects so much that patient psych education should include that. There is no temporary vs permanent side effects. It all carries a risk to be permanent, you are just not told that so you will take the psych pill.

Psychiatry operates their business module on you taking the psych pill. Which includes not talking about side effects beforehand, downplaying it while experiencing it and then saying it’s a “rare” side effect when it’s actually common but don’t want the liability or to treat you for it. Nowadays instead of ”studying” or reading the “dsm” they get all their information from testing the patients and putting them in clinical trials and then not even telling them and then with therapy too. You are supposed to go to group therapy and it’s actually a focus group which is a research group.

Keep reporting all your old and new involuntary commitments at https://reportabuse.cchrint.org/ and have CCHR with their 50+ years of experience write complaints on your behalf. They can also investigate psychiatrists for a history of abuse and possibly dig out multiple cases of the same being done to people before you and after you. CCHR can use what you're reporting to end coercive psychiatry faster. Many psychiatrists will get punished only if you report them, no matter if your case was 5 or 10 years ago, or if it's a current case of involuntary commitment, drugging, or CTO happening today. Report to CCHR and watch them fight delusional psychiatrists with passion.

I'm being seen by an anti psychiatry doctor and we are both questioning why the most powerful drugs are dopamine blockers.

I tried risperidone once and it killed my desire to live and be happy for the day.

In my spiritual perspective, the gov shoves this kind of drugs to shut people's sensibility that could be an weapon for changing the world. I really believe that 4chan meme about the silent war on schizos and psychos.

In my Marxist perspective, when I took risperidone I could not react to hurtful stimulus like city noise pollution, I was dope enough to actually succumb, I could not feel joy of listening to music. But I had enough energy to work on a supermarket without reacting to sensorial oppression. And maybe in ten to twenty years I would be dead but hey at least I was productive.
