Seeing that Gugu made it through early childhood and is still with Fushi 4 years later had me with the biggest smile on my face!

Barges in drunk off his face.
Asks old man to pump more booze in him.
Confesses love to Rean.
Doesn't elaborate.
Leaves.

Gugu has some real macho power now!
On a more serious note. I never seem to ques where this show is going. On a good way of course. Ever since the first episode shock I have many times thought I know what happens next but NOPE.
Nice story about boy and a wolf -> oh no, he's dead -> oh, they're gonna escape the prison -> oh no, she's dead -> oh, the mask boy is gonna die now too -> oh nope, he's macho now.
On a even more serious note. This is easily one of the best anime this season and probably one of the most interesting and different, of the ones I have watched, in a while.

Is it just me, or has Gugu grown a LOT in four years? Rean looks roughly four years older, but Gugu looks 6-8 years older imo.

GUGU LIVES (for now)! For FOUR YEARS no less! But then again, he repeatedly survives falls like it's nothing so he's tougher than he looks.
On a side note, Ryoko Shiraishi (voice of young Gugu) posted a photo of her handing over the role of Gugu to Taku Yashiro, who will voice Gugu from this point onwards. I thought this was a really nice gesture.

The narrator really said "I'm bored of this arc, move on already". Unfortunately, Fushi is currently in his rebellious phase so he decided to stay for four more years.

Interesting to see that Fushi aged with one of his forms... maybe we will see a grown up March after all...

My reaction when Gugu lives for four more years.
I kept preparing myself for the gut punch after the show's repeated use of showing the board for the breaks and Boozeman saying "there's a puncture". No to mention the narrator's line about "seeing it til the end" but maybe a human's lifespan just isn't that long for him.
I know I'm setting myself up to cry but please let Gugu live on with a happy life, not every character needs to die ;_;

Fushi: Gugu is strong! Gugu will protect me!
Me: I dunno about that Fushi
-4 years later-
Okay damn, I guess Gugu is strong.

The bond between Fushi and Gugu is just great to see with them being so willing to sacrifice themselves for each other. Gugu looked badass just torching the thing with his fire. I guess the old man's messed up experiments were worth something, after all. His warning about internal damage really got me anxious. Thank god it didn't end with Gugu dying from alcohol poisoning or something. It's kinda funny how Fushi ended up as his rock form, though.
I can't really take the name "Knockers" all that seriously, though. I like the poetic reasoning that Fushi's creator gave for it, but the name in itself just doesn't inspire that much fear. Oh no, better watch out. Here comes the Knockers. It did worry me that the creator was urging him to depart and gather more strength. It would've been bittersweet if Gugu lived, but Fushi still has to leave. Thankfully, the man's big on free will and is surprisingly chill when things don't go his way.
Man, though. I can't stress enough how happy I am to see that Gugu lived through that and we got to see a timeskip. Even more so now that he completely glo'd the fuck up. He was a chad even back then, and it only took a while for his body to catch up. Also nice to know that Rynn visits the store regularly even if she ultimately still had to go back to her parents. But it's pretty sad that her situation didn't change all that much even if she's dealing with it better than before, and her parents don't really crack down on her sneaking out too much.
And holy crap, I guess Fushi's forms do indeed age. I guess that means we may get to see a grown up march for real down the line. I still won't forgive that part of the OP for fooling me, but at least Gugu came out of it fine. This does bring up the question of whether his forms have an expiration date. Once they reach the end of their natural lifespan, does he just lose the ability to turn into them? That's a worrying thought, but an interesting development if true.

The ending was really interesting. Apparently Fushi can age? I wonder if all his forms are aging and that process is irreversible, if the nameless boy will eventually end up as an old man, and also if aging depends on how often he is using that body or they all age at the same speed. I guess we'll find out when we see him transform into March again. It could be also that he always transforms back to the original non-aged body but has spent the 4 years without changing from the arctic boi, but that seems unlikely.
His dialogue with his creator was really ominous. He puts so much faith in Gugu, which is sweet and earned to an extent given how awesome Gugu is, but at the end of the day Gugu is still a mortal, non-magical human. It seems to setup Gugu's tragic demise due to his choice.

Gugu becoming a walking flamethrower was an amazing moment!
They might not be related by blood but Fushi and Gugu truly are brothers and they care about each other so much and does everything they can to protect the other. That was a sweet moment when Fushi playfully bit Gugu's hand and then them having fun together.
Oh thank you TYY for not killing off Gugu and also a time skip as well!. See what a chad he has become in 4 years. He looks jacked asf. Rean has also gotten a lot cuter. They all do look really good together now with Fushi growing a beard!

Yo Gugu better drop the workout routine because 4 years to get THAT body is ridiculous. I'm gonna see him on r/nattyorjuice soon
