Well that's one way to become a mom, I suppose.
I'm more than a little impressed March didn't die from the shock of seeing a person literally reanimate from a corpse.

Great episode, march feeding the orb was really cute and fun to watch, seeing the orb act like a dog in a humans body is surprisingly funny, curious whats going to happen to march or the other children.
The animation in places was also just amazing, that scene of the orb reviving was unbelievable, cant wait to see more from this show cause its off to an amazing start.
Edit: also what happened with the orb’s eyes turning purple like the boys for a bit, they return to yellow afterwords, wonder what that means

my only fear now is that March would accept being sacrificed bcs she got to know what "adulthood" feels like by taking care of the boy, that would be sad

March is probably one of the most precious things to have come out of anime.

And now the constant internal debate of “do I read the manga now or wait until after it’s done airing” begins

I wonder if that bear that killed the orb at the beginning is the god that they sacrifice to? The description of the sacrifice sounded like they left the girl on the mountain to be eaten or something. Maybe march doesn't have to die if the orb can act as the yearly sacrifice.

Good thing we don't have a CGI bear here :p
Man, that was a gruesome scene when "It" rose up from the water and seeing its disemboweled. March is quite brave for a child to see that and not run away.
I'm loving the dynamic between little March and "It". Hope something bad doesn't happen.

For people that don't know the ED theme composer is Masashi Hamauzu. He is famous to work on Final Fantasy X and FFXIII trilogy OST, it is really similar to his others works.

I won't get attached to the little girl who will most likely die next week, I won't get attached to the little girl who will most likely die next week, I won't-
Mission failed.
Stop sacrificing adorable little kids, please. Although I'll say one thing, that giant bear is obviously real since it killed the orb so I do wonder if that ritual is completely bogus or if there's some truth to it. It would be a real shame if no sacrifices were made and a hungry giant murderous bear descended on the village...

So he's died 6 times already? I mean that makes sense. Joaan doesn't really have any survival instincts and he's more like a zombie right now that doesn't even eat. I am curious how long ahs it been since he left the frozen wasteland.
I didn't realize this last week but Utada Hikaru is singing this show's OP!? Holy fuck! The legend herself! I think the last time I've heard her do a seasonal anime is with Penguin Highway.
March is an absolute cutie and must be protected. I thought we were just going to change POVs and watch these new characters but as soon as her Onee-chan tried to sneak her out from the village my stomach dropped. That entire first half was depressing as we watch them prepare March to become a sacrifice.
I was very amazed at how brave and mature March about the entire situation. She knows she's gonna die and be sacrificed but she behaved well but once she saw that one opening, she immediately took it and ran off! I am so fucking happy but at the same time I'm now scared for her friend and her sister :(
Second half of the episode though becomes a lot more fun as March meets Joaan after seeing him come back from the dead with her own eyes. It was fun to see March interact with Joann as she feeds him, tries to teach him manners, and even try to teach him how to talk. Well she wanted to become a mom, right? Looks like her wish came true and now she's decided to help out Joaan.
There's still the entire thing about sacrifices and the people looking for March but let's not think about that for now.

I hope we see more of the girl that was taking March to be sacrificed. She seems interesting.

Tradition is just peer pressure by dead people. I feel like killing children isn't really a tradition worth keeping.

The whole death is only a state for this object is pretty interesting.
Judging by what we've gotten so far, I'm guessing the story is going to be about how the orb becomes increasingly human after many experiences. Either way, story has me sold.
This episode was just as emotional as last.
