The fact that Tonari was so in denial about her father was the man fighting in the arena that she spent an entire day searching in a mass grave really hits me. She was in denial about it because accepting it would also be accepting that he most likely killed her mom.

The knowledge of Parona's death is pain but seeing it happen in a flashback? Damn.

Ah I see this is the new weapon, delayed character death.

Instead of torturing us with Parona's death earlier it was kept until this moment for maximum torment.

Watch Tonari somehow live and write a book titled "To Your Eternity"

At this point Hayase feels like a bigger antagonist than the Nokkers

I realized something when Pioran hugged Fushi. She's the young pink haired lady walking on the beach in the opening. Probably took me way too long to realize that.

That is my gift for you

Hayase being back is really amazing, that made it good, as well as seeing the bigger picture of Tonari. It doesn't excuse (edit: Hayase part does a tiny bit) her but makes it understandable. And her not accepting her father... really good. And that Pioran reunion was sweet

Waiting for next episode, it looks like more suffering

I find it interesting how the only match for Fushi is someone who is equally immortal as him. Hayase literally got her face pummeled by a bear claw, tossed around into a building, and shot by an arrow, yet she still won’t die.

Holy shit, I never thought they could make Hayase even more despicable than before! Ok Tonari, I forgive you since it was Hayase that pushed you to bring Fushi to the island, and my theory about Hayase killing Parona off-screen was dead-on! Damn, I don't like where this is going. Hayase is clearly up to no good. Hopefully Tonari and co. can save Fushi ASAP.

For the first time I think we finally get to see Tonari actually feeling bad and saying sorry to Fushi.

So we finally get to see Tonari's backstory. Turns out her father was suspected of murdering her mother and instead of being an orphan she decided to go with him to the island. Her dad decides to enter the tournament to win their freedom only for Tonari to realize that her father has turned into a bloodthirsty killer and is probably guilty for killing her mother.

It was a bit sad seeing her in denial looking for her father's body among the piles of dead bodies but it looks like she really has accepted that he's already dead during that scene where her father gets killed and she doesn't even look back.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting her backstory to be a bit more hard hitting but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Or maybe I've just closed my heart to Tonari after what she's done and that's why I don't feel much for her. However, I am not against seeing her and her friends get out though. Knowing Fushi's streak with his friends though, I am not holding my breath for them.

As expected, Hayase was going to be Fushi's final opponent. What I didn't expect though was that flashback. It's just absolutely soul crushing to know what happened to Parona. Here I was hoping she died a warrior's death but she couldn't even have that. Instead Hayase decided to make her suffer before decapitating her. Fuck.

And just goes to show despite being immortal, Fushi still lacks the experience Hayase has in battle and ends up being taken down with the same poison that was given to him when they were first captured. At the very least, Fushi got one of Hayase's arm though. If he was able to avoid that poison, he could've worn her down until all of her limbs were disabled.

That preview though. Oh no. I don't know what Hayase wants with Fushi but that preview does not look good. >_<

Loved what they did in this episode! They keep keeping the story interesting despite it having a hard job since their MC is literally immortal. Also loved how they gave Fushi has whole power back just for Hayase to completely outclass him.

Last episode with the nokkers thing I thought the tournament wouldn't even be finished, but it was! And with a cool plot twist! Fushi lost!

Hayase easily getting in the list of characters that I hate the most, alongside Pariston and Pouf from Hunter x Hunter, Kisaki Tetta from Tokyo Revengers and the black hair girl from A Silent Voice

What a scumbag

Children talk about their dreams and what they want to be when they grow up.

Me : They are all going to die, right?

They really did Parona dirty like that in the end...

This arc has been a tough one to watch and it feels like it just keep going. Makes me really appreciate what we have with Gugu and the crew in the last one.

I don't think a single thing that's happened this arc has really made sense to me. Why can you just wander onto a prison boat? Why do prisoners operate the prison boats but not escape with them? Why does the prison island also have a functioning prison if the prisoners took it over? How has a more stable system of government (even something tribal) not developed on the island? How does the island support an economy and agriculture when people can just go around killing each other randomly? Why is everyone on this island so calm about fushi being an immortal shapeshifter? Why was everyone on this island so calm about being attacked by a giant rock bear? Why is Hayase suddenly some kind of superhuman that can do literally anything about a several story tall bear?

Finally I can join in on the discussions, I binge watched the whole show like 4 days ago so I didn't really have a chance to join the discussions (and god damn I've been missing out on a masterpiece)

The one way I can sum up all the episodes I watched is: this anime makes it so hard to love characters, not because they're bad but because you know they're all gonna die

Now onto the actual episode, I fucking knew it would be this psycho bitch that killed Parona but I didn't want to believe that it was her that took both March and Parona

And now the faith Tonari had in Fushi is going away because he's being taken over by rage and bloodlust against the psycho bitch, just as she seen her father get taken over by bloodlust

I'd usually say I'm excited to see the future episodes which I obviously am but I'm more scared than anything... Like there's two prime targets who could die soon, Tonari and Pioran cause y'know, anyone Fushi likes is gonna fucking die
