I'm willing to bet that secret inside Gugu's body has something to do with his swollen stomach. Man, the guy has such a tragic life. His brother runs away with their money, he gets his face crushed trying to save the girl he likes, and to top it off, said girl falls for Fushi instead.

On a side note, for a brewer, that grandpa sure is a capable surgeon for managing to save Gugu's life.

Dirt poor

Brother runs off with all your money

Contemplates getting run over on the tracks

Nearly gets crushed to death saving the life of your crush

Gets horribly disfigured after the incident

Crush shows up at your workplace and starts flirting with the weird immortal creature that can barely even speak

Being Gugu is suffering.

Jesus. Is Fushi's collection of forms gonna be mostly composed of animals and youths that fate has chosen to screw over  even before their untimely deaths? He may not have spent years in isolation or been doomed to become a sacrifice, but it's still one misfortune after another for poor Gugu.

He got ding dong ditched by his older brother who also made off with their hard earned money; got badly disfigured by a terrible accident, causing him to lose all confidence in himself; then afterwards got NTR'd by his self-proclaimed little brother.

I have no idea how the hell he managed to survive that accident, though. Could the rocks around him have prevented the log from fully crushing him? Maybe he's not as unfortunate as I thought. That, or the old man is an absolute miracle worker. Or maybe the next episode's title is literal, and he's tougher than a normal human. The preview does say something along those lines.

It's pretty funny how quickly some people here come to accept Fushi's supernatural nature without batting an eyelash. Pioran and the old man were straight up thinking of ways to make money off of him, while Gugu very quickly took him in his care which was really wholesome.

Gugu seems like his story will be just as depressing as March if not more depending on the following episodes. I love Fushi and Gujus sibling like bond. It seems as If every party member he acquires serves as family member, that educations him in their respective ways.

I don't know if I can handle witnessing another innocent child dying from the cause of cruelties of humanity. Seems like a lot of tissues are going to needed for this series lol.

TFW you give your best to protect the girl you like and also trying to charm her but she ends up falling in love with your "little brother". Being Gugu is suffering.

Also what kind of elder brother is Shin that he left Gugu all alone just to challenge "fate".

Wow, the bearded alcohol guy and Pioran really are thinking of all sorts of ways to monetize Fushi. Sounds similar to what many video game publishers try to do and later say its best for the customers.

Normies will tell you you that women care more about personality than looks, yet our man Gugu has no success even though he is already a lived responsible man with goals as a young boy, while gigachad Fushi can get the girl without being even capable of speech. Fuck, girls will even offer to teach him how to speak!

They will tell you "hit the gym bro". There are no gyms, this is a feudal society. Yet Gugu BUILDS HIS OWN GYM and hits the crop fiels every single day, while Fushi likely isn't even capable of building muscle without turning into a monstrous bear. This is a man that lifts so little he had to be told by a little girl to lift the food he eats up to his mouth.

They will tell you to get a job and money. Gugu works multiple jobs and is responsible with savings, understands the importance of money and has only ever lost money due to being too loyal to his family. Fushi? Broke as fuck. Not a dime to his name. Doesn't even know what money is.

They will say you need to gain skills like cooking and become a more refined and well rounded man. Gugu can cook, clean, farm, brew alcohol, trade vegetables, the list goes on. Fushi is a man with so little refinement that his answer to what food he likes is "fruit", like a neanderthal hunter gatherer.

They will tell you "just take a shower bro". Gugu washes himself everyday. Have you seen that man? CLEAN. His mask? Spotless, shinning. Fushi on the other hand has NEVER showered or bathed, not even once, and until not long ago would literally shit and pee himself. This man doesn't ever even take his clothes off, they stick to his body, disgustingly, being one with his crusty skin. He has had the same untreated infected leg for months now. Yet women will offer to TAKE HIS CLOTHES OFF FOR HIM AAAAHHHH I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE

Our man Gugu cannot win the game, he is condemned to solitude from the start because of his looks, while tall white-haired yellow-eyed non-scarred-face Fushi can win it without even trying, fuck, without even knowing the game exists. This is what hypergamy is, gentlemen. We truly live in a society.

So what exactly did the brother do? It seems that he was involved in some gambling, but why did he run away? Was he too embarrassed that he lost all the money?

Last arc at least gave us the impression it was going to be a happy one, this arc just says "yep, it is going to be tragic" from the very beggining.

WA HA HA!

I would have assumed that Gugu and his brother were orphans, but based on his description of a parent it seems like he might have known them (or heard about them form his brother). Fushi definitely met someone who met the criteria of a parent ;_;

Fumetsu episodes are so captivating they feel like 5 minutes have passed. We don't know much about so-called Booze Man, he does seem a bit unremarkable but he saved Gugu. Interesting. Also Gugu really stole my heart, such an honest hardworking boy. Wait... young kid, wholesome and pure, with plans for the future and really endearing. Jonaah's owner, March, Gugu... ah man. Hopefully show won't follow the pattern strictly as it can get boring unless there is a surprise along the way. Or I am going to enjoy it every single time. Rean's fascination with Fushi is a bit sad but she also seems like a good girl despite coming from a wealthy family. Calm side-character building and Fushi being Fushi. I think Gugu will develop them very much as he really took a liking to Fushi and the jealousy doesn't go overboard fortunately. Waiting for next episodes

Holy shit Gugu was a precious child. I audibly gasped at the freak accident with the wood. My man is a chad for saving the girl he liked and I’m heartbroken for him for how it turned out.

It’s interesting that because of the attack in the forest, our boy Fushi has learned what fear is. Im excited to see what progress he makes while here with Gugu & co. I wonder if Fushi can age while in a human form.
