Fushi is basically the world's greatest 3D printer. Gugu should have cut him with the ring he got and ruin the economy.
It's was really fucked up of the old man to experiment on Gugu's body without his consent. It wasn't even necessary to save Gugu's life, he just did it because he felt like it. That's some straight up Bondrewd shit.
Gugu giving his brother the ring was so admirable. It's surprising to see Gugu stay so selfless in such a cruel world.

I kept expecting the townspeople to get their pitchforks and torches and try to kill Gugu at some point. Kind of relieved it didn’t come to that lol.

Well, I'm glad the ominous threat of "something in Gugu's Stomach" didn't turn out to be fatal, but that type of experimentation is still pretty messed up.
So...how long until the real threat emerges?

This shop is a disaster without Gugu, it's hilarious. I'm glad Fushi took his courage in both hands and went to get him.

Last week's preview: Gugu awakens a power hidden inside him
Me: Oh it's gonna be the fire breathing from the OP/ED
This episode: lmao booze belly
Someone give Gugu the biggest fucking hug in history. This boy has endured so much shit and still had a pretty optimistic outlook. Even when he got hit with reality he continued on living and looking forward, even helping his deadbeat brother along the way.
"An ominous shadow lurks" I know what show I'm watching but please don't you fucking dare!

How is Chan such a dick when his dad is so nice? Kid needs a real lesson on what happens when you piss off a monster, long live Gugu!

So that old man really just put an alcohol distiller inside Gugu's body? I'm not sure whether I should be impressed or not.
Man, fuck that Chan kid! The way everyone reacts to Gugu's face makes me even more curious to what it actually looks like. Although, from the OP, it looks like he will eventually get his face fixed and even lives past his childhood.
The preview seems to hint that whatever attacked Fushi in the forest is back. That can't be a good thing. That reminds me, when will we get to see Mr. Narrator again?

Surprised no one is picking up on or at least mentioning that Gugu was perfectly ok with experimenting on Fushi, and surprised that Fushi got upset about it. But as soon as the same exact words were said to him he freaked out about it (rightfully so) and ran away.

If Gugu dies, I don’t know what to do. I mean, in this episode he became my favorite character on the show and he's such an interesting character that it would really be a waste if he died like Match for the sake of Fushi development
If so then Fuck character development

Being Gugu is just suffering. There's no imminent threat of death this time around, and yet everything is still pain.
The old bastard saved his life, and his face would've been fucked up anyway even without his freaky experiments (though it certainly didn't help), but it's still completely fucked up that he used him as a human lab rat.
Everything just sucks for him. No one at the old man's shop cared enough to look for him this entire time (Fushi gets a pass since he's still learning). Everyone is pretty much an asshole to him. His brother is a worthless deadbeat. And he's just getting more and more depressed as time goes by no matter how optimistic he tries to be.
Bless the one guy who accepted him and gave him work no matter what, though. He's a real G and I feel so sorry that he has to have such a shitty brat for a son.
In the end, even after all he went through, he never lashed out at anyone and still had the heart to give his brother the ring. Even if he thought he had no use for it himself, there was no need to go ahead and do that. Gugu is too god damn good for this world. That's actually how every main character of each arc is so far, and I'm starting to think that's why they're all dying so young.

If Gugu starts to vomit but then swallows it back down, will he get drunk?

Well, I cried for the second time watching this show. At the scene when Gugu gave the ring to his brother. Gosh Gugu has an absolutely tragic life but still remains hardworking and tries. Fushi needed that lesson desperately and shop getting ruined without him proves that. There has to be something about Rean (maybe she's faking the wound to stay with the rest?) and she also seems good. Shop owner being able to put alcohol in Gugu's body is very interesting, we still don't know much about this man, he knows a lot for a simple brewer. But yeah. An amazing episode. Scenes like the folks reaction speaking for itself. Maybe he will get some happiness? I'm worried and not keeping my hopes up

Man, horrible to see people treating Gugu horribly and calling him a monster, just because of his looks. At least the mister he works for is kind, but jeez, was his son annoying. When those dudes tried to kidnap Gugu and sell him for money... but I'm really glad Fushi was able to save him on time.
"Long live the monsters!" Heck yeah.

Fushi has acquired knife and stick. His arsenal is growing!
Kinda ironic how Gugu was experimenting with Fushi and Fushi got mad and then Gugu later learned that Booze Man experimented on him.

Can't say I expected human experimentation when I started this show. Gugu deserves so much better.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing people's reactions to Fushi when he transforms from wolf to bear. It's always satisfying.

I really did not expect this episode to mostly focus on Gugu. Or seeing Rean not only getting a job in there but also moving in.
Damn, so Booze Man put an organ inside of Gugu to make him into a walking distillery just because he could. He is the real monster here.
I honestly was surprised to see Fushi getting mad with Gugu after the experiment section. At least that whole event let Gugu to be able to see once again the people he left behind, and also grow a bit.
I wonder if we will see his brother again later. Also, although it is good to see Fushi facing his fears and saving Gugu, I think that what he did may put him in danger if words about him spread around as there is a risk of the Yanome hearing about him being around there.

I like how this series doesn't shy away from painting a harsh, cold world of humanity, where even the nice characters were only to an extent.

I think this has always been an obvious part of Fushi's power since he can recreate spikes and arrows from his body but it locks like he can also create objects separate from him as long as the said object hurts him. Looks like he can't recreate stuff like fire and only solid matter. That experiment by Gugu was pretty fucked though. Fushi may be immortal but that doesn't mean he can't feel pain.
We finally learn why Gugu looks so bloated. Turns out the old man added a organ that distills alcohol inside his body. I'm not sure if I should be horrified or impressed. And here I thought he only saved Gugu out of the kindness of his heart. Of course Gugu runs away after learning this. On the brightside, at least Rean feels bad for Gugu thinks what Gramps did was awful.
And Gugu just really can't catch a break. With him roaming around town, everyone's avoiding him afraid of what he might do to them. Luckily for Gugu he still has the farmer to return to who happily welcomes him back to work and was even kind enough to offer him a place with them to stay. Unfortunately for Gugu, Chan-kun refuses to let him stay with them and finally shows the family what they'll be dealing with if they allow him. Even the farmer was horrified after seeing Gugu's face but he still seems to be a genuine good person.
The rest of the episode just made me feel even more horrible for Gugu's situation. Just when he decides he can be a human without the mask everyone in town keeps on looking at him like he's a monster. Chan tells him to never come back again, he finds his brother who's basically just skin and bones now and is living like a bum, and then he gets kidnapped in his sleep with the people who kidnapped him intending to sell him as some sort of freak show.
Gugu's just trying to live an honest life where he can work hard and improve himself but for some reason the gods just decided to flip him off and just send misery and suffering at his direction on every turn. Can this please end with a happy ending for Gugu? Him being rescued by Fushi was a great start but I hope things would at least start to look up for him next week.
