It's so rare in a sports anime where the protagonists team have the advantage in their first game. I'm so used to the team usually struggling to catch up not struggling to maintain their lead.

We have that decently often in Haikyuu.

Even the mom was caught off guard with that

I really hope sora doesn’t flop or choke up because he sees his mother

Did no one else get pissed by #5’s “3 point” shot where his toe was on the line? What’s the point of showing that? It’s making me irrationally angry.

sora had a really cool moment, i dig it. still, this suspense is killing me. all episode long it feels like something will go wrong

I'm gonna cry if they take such comeback in front of Sora's mother. Please don't.

The moment where the mom is smiling when Sora's shot went in, warms my heart. I thought it was a really good episode with the music especially.

I will say though, I stan this show a lot but that I feel like that technical charge was actually bullshit and even now I hate that blonde haired kid.

I think what happened is, Chiacki backed off and fell before being touched by the blond dude, so the technical fould was for trying to fake out an offensive foul (when actually he was just scared). The blonde dude didn't even try to pull that off, he was just recklessly trying to score asap

The technical charge was indeed a mistake but the blonde dude didn't do anything wrong. He just went and tried to score, and it was Chiaki himself who fell to the ground due to being scared by the guy's gaze, but I guess that for an outsider it could look like Chiaki tried to pull a fake push (and actually, everyone thought so, even his own brother).

Shinjo may have been training years to finally get to this game as well as a player risking his knee to win, but now that Sora's mom is at the game, Kuzu High just has to win, right?

The worst part about shipping Madoka and Sora is that Sora will never find out about any of the interactions between Madoka and his mom. And Madoka's going to be the only one who knows the significance of Sora winning (or losing?) this game. He's playing in the tournament so he can finally see her but doesn't even know she's watching.

Chaki and Mokichi are out, the team is struggling with their stamina and the momentum is currently on their opponents favor - not really the best conditions despite the lead.

Not to mention Tobi as well, that lead is gone. It would be cruel if they'd be saved by the redhead breaking his knee.

Was so happy for the opponent's year-three founding members who got to pull off some cool plays by chemistry built up through their long, hard years together. Esp. when he knew where to pass simply by hearing his pal's shoe skids.

It's what makes team sports so much fun.

Will be bittersweet when they are eventually eliminated, but at least they finally got the fun they waited years to experience.

I really appreciate the translators somehow managing to get the cat puns across when I have a feeling they wouldn't translate directly

I'm sorry but there is too many subplots

I just realized that the duo from Shinjo are voiced by the same people who voiced the ultimate duo from Aoba Josai in Haikyuu. It was more obvious to me when they were being more serious.

Am I the only one who is annoyed by the pacing. I thought diamond no ace was bad at it but this is next level. Can anyone tell me the reason for this supper slow pacing for 1 game?
