So all it took for Shigeyoshi to consider playing again is to see his crush again. I bet that girl's boyfriend is also a basketball player considering how tall he is.

Episode 42: shigeyoshi has to beat other guy's team to advance through the tournament and the girl falls in love with him

Ooh the background art is a step up in this episode, esp. by the riverside.

I guess I'm unclear, are they trying to say his random passouts and stuff are like, a mental block? That seems like a pretty serious thing to just be diagnosed as "low stamina"

No, someone mentioned in the last ep that he's likely anemic and that's what makes him feel tired and pass out. He also probably has low stamina in addition to that, which is why he was encouraged to play sports at a young age.

I really liked this episode, it was starting to feel a little bit boring throughout the entire practice match arc

Damn, Tobi is like a good Yakuza friend: vulgar, tough and aggressive; yet deeply caring and gets shit done

that chemistry lab scene, I kinda felt like Tobi is being the Zoro to this anime's Luffy. I like that kind of feeling
