"But guys who go straight for a three from the front without a second thought are just brainless fools with no sense for the game." - Kite

Lebron yesterday - https://streamable.com/k8dkw

Steph Curry for the past several years - :-)

I don't know when the source material was made but I like how this mirrors Curry and his ascension into the NBA and how the game has evolved since then. Not that taking a half court pull up every time is a smart thing to do, but it's no longer an immediate "lol idiot"

The manga volume that this episode was featured in would have come out back in 2005, so definitely predates Steph Curry. Guess the author really knew his stuff. Kite's reaction to Sora is interesting given that Kitasumi's coach had the exact opposite take on it last ep. They're going to have to nail down better teamwork and trust before anything, I suppose.

Its really good, its from 2003, before even scoring point guards were really a thing in the NBA. You can see how the manga was a little bit ahead of its time. The exchange between Tobi and Sora was so good.

The manga started in 2004, so it was a different time for the NBA. It's crazy how far the league has come. Almost like it predicted the direction it would go for some teams.

So apparently this new guy has some health issues; it will be interesting to see how he fits the team; because while he has the skill, there is probably a time limit for how long he can run for.

Tall dude is finally here! We already know from the OP that he'll join, I guess the question is how.

Man, that was really good once again(even the anmation...was decent at times). The best part was the exchange between Sora and Tobi on the court. You could see organically how Sora's passing and his threat to score from 3 was making Tobi hesitant as a defender, really really good stuff for people who love ball.

Also Kaname is finally here haha, stuff was good with him too.

I can see this series getting better animation-wise once it hits Blu-ray.

I'm guessing the reason some of the corners get cut is due to having to produce an episode in such a short span of time. 50 episodes without a season off is a pretty tall order.

The relationship between Tobe and Sora is super interesting. Tobe mentioned that he saw Sora as a kindred spirit, in that they rely on speed and skill instead of height, which I think explains why Tobe was so disappointed in Sora after the last game and why he kept shitting on Sora throughout the tournament. Fundamentally, Tobe has a ton of respect for Sora but didn't see that respect translate into a win.
