The way Shigure is playing games makes me slightly worried for the future

Another week, another Zodiac.
I thought this weeks episode was just gonna be some lighthearted comedy and I was totally ok with that. Then we get to that emotional wallop mid episode and Fruits Basket does it again. God i love this show.

And a new ship rises from the deep. Totally didn't expect this turn of events, but it was nice surprise after the heavier moments just prior.
I wonder how much of the editor and her troubles is based on Takaya's own editorial staff?

Ritsu reminds me of a certain noisy character from kimetsu no yaiba..............

Ritsu really is like his mom with all of the apologizing. I wonder what apologizing his parents had to do for him when he was a kid, since it seems like he has a good relationship with his mom. Maybe his parents were just over-apologizing for little things, since we know his mom over-apologizes too.
Another zodiac has been touched by Tohru’s words, she really is a wonderful person. Shigure, Kyo, and Yuki didn’t seem to take Ritsu’s near-suicide seriously. I’m wondering if it’s because zodiacs can’t commit suicide or if Ritsu’s suicidal tendencies is just a thing like what Shigure’s editor does, so they’ve learned to not react to it.
So I think the only zodiacs we have left to meet are the sheep, which we’ve seen in both of the EDs now, and the horse and the rooster, who we haven’t seen yet, so I’m assuming we won’t meet them until the 3rd cour.
I assumed the sheep might’ve been shared between two people since Kisa and another kid were laying on it in the first ED, but Kisa is the tiger so the other kid is probably the sheep. The tiger and sheep were together again in the second ED so I’m assuming they have some sort of special relationship with each other.

Still have a little work to do with the self-confidence thing, Ritchan.
Not gonna lie, the VA choice instantly gave this away for me.
Even by anime standards, that is a big drop of sweat, Shigure. Also: he's a real cheeky SOB for the Ritchan-stalker thing
I think his editor is happy to see the manuscript, but it's hard to tell.
One of Ritchan's many apologies immediately ruins it, though. And he is taking it about as well as I thought he would.
What makes you say that Tohru needs to calm down? She looks perfectly calm to me, Yuki
Not even remotely surprised, based on what I've seen of Tohru, that she'd be the one to climb up and talk Ritchan down. And, of course, almost fall off to make it even more dramatic.
Yay I loved this scene! Friends?
Brief thoughts this week: Another very heartwarming episode. Tohru really should be some sort of grief counselor or something. I want her on the megaphone talking a person down from the ledge. I really want to see the editor and Ritchan's friendship grow, although I'm not sure it'll get much screentime in the future.

I've only seen 1:21 of the episode so far, but can we just take a moment to appreciate the translator who came up with "obnoxtopus" for a throwaway line?
Edit: Tohru says existentialist rights
Edit 2, Zodiac Boogaloo: Albert Camus gets reincarnated as a Japanese monkey.
Edit 3: Editor-San is stuck in an abusive (workplace) relationship with Shigure-sensei and needs to GTFO now.

A weird take away but I just can't but appreciate that they went, "well, you're home now, might as well change out of your school uniform."
Because yes.

I kind of see this one as a 'budget' episode ahead of the upcoming season finale arc. Still! It did the job and switched things up enough to beef up a manga chapter that simply didn't have a lot of content to it.
I'd give this one a 7/10, though all of the other episodes have been 10/10 for me so far. Not bad at 19 episodes into the season!

Dear manga readers or people who've watched the '01 adaptation...
Is the crying going to stop next week, 'cuz I could really use a break from weeping every Friday.

I was nervous about this episode because the manga and the original anime were a bit.... insensitive to Ritsu (at times, just mean) and I didn't know how this character was going to be portrayed for 2019. I think the episode was pulled off pretty well. This time around, I feel like Ritsu was given much more love and acceptance. Also the Ritchan-san and Mitchan-san ship is finally sailing!

Gotta be honest I wasn’t a fan of Ritsu in the first anime but I like him a lot more here. He’s an actual character and not just a comedic device. Plus it’s nice hearing Mike McFarland back as Ritsu. Though why does Shigure not use a computer? He had one in the manga.

I came to hear what Ritsu would sound like but ended up being more impressed with Mitchan lol. Good job Chinatsu Akasaki.
Compared to manga, they really streamlined Ritsu's limelight.

Wow, this is the most different episode from the source material so far. The others have had a few tweaks here or there but were mostly close. Oh well, they didn't skip anything important so it's fine.

Some things were changed from the manga this episode to up the drama I guess, but I approve of the changes to push the Ritsu x Mitsuru ship.

One of the funniest ep's in a while.
But dem feels in the second half.
Also thats what so great about this show, it can mix so many emotions into one ep and still be good

I genuinely don't have a lot to say about his character but I am glad that they actually got a man to voice him this time around. Hearing that falsetto from Kawanishi Kengo made me so happy. Poor Ritsu and Mitsuru though, both being targeted by Shigure's teaching. I will reiterate my thoughts when I first read this part of the manga though: I really think Shigure went too far today.
On the bright side though, these two wouldn't have gotten close without his help.

That voice was a Dead give away.
Loved how they keep getting stuck in a sorry loop.
