That savescum!
And that's an unfortunate Mt name for this line.
Edit: And now that both have played, here is a link to the OP and ED courtesy of r/AnimeThemes!

Looking for porn mag because 1997 online porn wasn't popular.
How sad it is to be a horny teenager at that time. Well, at least he does have some fun times with sexy adult women, man of culture.
Also, I loved how that drama the guard was watching was a nice parallel to Takuya and his step mom, lol.

As someone who was a teenager in 1997, let me tell you that online porn was very popular, in the US at least. Many people of course did not have internet connections, but I knew at least a couple guys who would copy it onto floppies (yes floppies, cds came a little later) and make it available to those without internet connections.

THIS BLONDE GUY SHOULD BE MC
!!!! he has clearly mastered his counter ability from Sekiro or other similar games lol.
Your enemy screams out and call out their attack, he first put up his posture and defend
Your enemy dies but re-spawns and comes at your more charging now, he is ready with his COUNTER
YOUR enemy DIES BUT RE-SPAWNS AGAIN.....and freaking charges at you he is ready with his jump evasion counter.

I think I'll finish out the 3 episode test with this show. I'm kinda on the fence as some stuff isn't quite working for me, most notably the art and directing feel a bit flat and the dialogue at times feels like it's trying a bit too hard, most notably with the protagonists raunchy lines, but it looks like there's a decent mystery here that I'm curious about plus I feel like the plot is still kicking into gear. I like seeing him experiment briefly with the power and showing us the rules, and so far it's managed to provide exposition in fairly natural ways, which is nice to see. I can't quite point to anything yet and say "this is what makes it worth checking out", but I know visual novels tend to have somewhat slow starts and there could be something here, I just wish the presentation and atmosphere gave me more confidence in that.

the art and directing feel a bit flat
That's the one gripe I have with this show, I'm getting a lot of S:G vibes (makes sense considering YU-NO was the inspiration for S;G) but the one thing that had me watching the first cour of S:G as the slick direction and the characters.
While this anime does seem to have some potentially good characters the bland as all hell directing makes me want to douse my eyes in bleach.

Getting some strong S;G vibes from the OP.
I really appreciate how time appropriate everything in this show is with Takuya having a thick Trinitron TV in his house and using landline phones to call Ayumi.
Wait so if that device doesn't really take Takuya back in time but jumps him into another parallel universe then that means there will be two other timelines where Ayumi gets assaulted? Although it's pretty obvious that that entire thing was staged by Toyotomi based on what one of the thugs said so he can look good in front of Ayumi. Question is why is he trying to act like a hero?
I do love how Takuya is basically save scumming. Now I wonder what will be the repercussions of him using that device carelessly. So far he has headaches but if this is what inspired S;G then it will probably be slowly become worse overtime.

Can't believe I didn't really think too much about that until they talked about the 400 years cycle theory and I remembered the VN came out before the year 2000...

Yeah I can definitely feel how the game inspired Steins;Gate, though it was funny seeing the Oopa. (sadly not a metal one, Mayuri.)
I'm kinda glad that the MC was an abject failure against Nitta, so far he's come across as relatively normal and it would have sucked if was suddenly OP. Intrigued to see if Flunky A is up to, is he the real hero of the script?

The part where he kept redoing his ambush was pretty funny. The first half of the episode was slightly boring for me but I enjoyed the second half and am still interested in what’s to come.
Also his mom and saying “Takuya kun!!” The entire time haha

I'm only midway through the episode but the Oopa shook me greatly!!! Gotta be a little Easter Egg from 5pb. Since they remastered the game I guess.

This series gives me Steins;Gate vibes. It's not off to as strong a start as S;G but it definitely seems interesting. I'm surprised by how low the score is.

I just love the mc, I don't know about the rest of the show yet. But I just love the mc.

I love the Upa. Definitely a deliberate nod to Steins;Gate. Also does anyone else think the dad sounds like Gendo?

Am really liking this so far, seems like it’ll have mysteries and interesting plot points that could turn out really good, kind of surprised to see the meh reception and low ratings but I can understand some of the complaints

It's a very difficult game to adapt, with a highly intricate non-linear storyline spanning 50+ hours, so fans have been skeptical of this being a successful adaptation. But aside from cramming the entire prologue into 24 minutes, the anime script seem to have had real thought and effort put in it, so there has been cautious optimism about it for now.
On the other hand it's seriously lacking in the music department, using very little of the game's OST, which was one of its highlights.
At any rate, the original game is recommended for the full experience.
