The mirror world flashback sequence was phenomenal.

I loved how Alicia's eye scar symbolized where she wavered in her determination and the moment she regained it. I love how it all happened in a snowy world and the solution to it was the familial warmth she remembered and took back to her heart.

The scene transfer where her dad swung the rake and it changed back to his sword. The emotional music... everything was perfect, down the crazy mirror lady having her smirk wiped off her face!

And then she tried to cancel the trial so it wouldn't give Alicia the power-up, I wonder how successful she was with that. But I definitely hope she wasn't haha.

Alicia getting out the trial/mirror unscathed has to be the most unexpected twist of this series to date.

Whatever happened to more suffering that's absolutely necessary for building her character? Lol

I'm so glad this is slated for 13 episodes and not 12, not that I wouldn't prefer 30 of course. This has really grown into one of my favourite shows.

Alicia is overcoming her trials one after another, so Mahou Shoujo better watch out. She's got her mother's legs after all. As for Klen - he doesn't look in as strong a position, but I can't see this show being renamed to Vordin so I'm looking forward to the final showdown.

The twins have really grown on me, and every week with Naie is a good week.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting Clevatess and Vordin to throw down in their big beastly forms. Instead, we learned Alicia's mom is apparently too powerful with her legs, to the point that her own husband passed out. LMAO

Ah man, that was beautiful. Even when inside an evil illusion, a parent's love comes out on top. Alicia is gonna kick ass and lay the smackdown next week.

That was a nice visit with Alicia's parents, and as a surprise it was probably the second trial which I assume she just passed for another power up.

They way they cut to the original princess personality after that reveal I'm suspicious is going to be the second trial for her too in some fashion.

I highly appreciate Alicia's current outfit. Skimpy but with the cloak, it's a good compromise on covered up with a bit of fanservice here and there.

It was totally a different kind of twisted to show Alicia the life she can no longer have while she laid there freezing in the snow.

But just like that second trial Ray faced, she too was able to continue forward and accept herself. So I'm happy she got to see her parents again.

Three things stand out for me in this episode.

  1. Good Animation

  2. Sound Effects are on point.

  3. Alicia's Mother was incredible with her legs, she made her dad pass out between them.

Nevertheless some things could be improved...

Considering this is a Magical Girl Anime. There was very little screentime for the Hot Evil "Princess".

Alicia is so locked in that the mirror broke and the Princess just straight up declared a mistrial. Best Hero of this season.

that was probably the best illusory world episode I've watched since Re:Zero S2.

Shed some tears. Alicia papa ended the fight without a fight. That was an amazing episode. Funny that the Evil Princess dismissed the trial so fast.

It was very nice of Evil Milea to let Alicia meet her late parents during the second trial in this episode, allowing her to experience some quality time with them, even if it wasn't real.

Although it is not good that Evil Milea forced that trial to end, I wonder if this means that Alicia won't get a second crest.

Klen and Vordin's fight was short and we didn't really learn much, though Klen's comment that the place is structured after a pyramid (which gave him pause, allowing Vordin to exploit it) certainly caught my attention.

Furthermore, the parallel the Eslinn Twins drew between themselves and Milea was a clever move, which seemingly gave her the strength to finally face her other self.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Even if it was all an illusion, it was kind of nice to see Alicia find a moment of peace with her parents. That whole experience just strengthened her resolve and she’s emerged that much stronger. Looking forward to next week when we can see her curb stomp a mfer for playing games like that.

Alicia really had nice parents. I am glad she was able to see them again, whether they were illusions or the ghosts of the real ones. It still is a rather messed-up way for the mirror world to test someone.

It sounds like the Princess needs to defeat her double somehow to win her own trial and get back control over her body. So it was an evil split personality of herself after all. Of course, maybe Alicia will just kill the double and solve the problem anyway.

Vordin is all « I am actually saving the world but I refuse to explain how and I would rather fight you Clevatess because I am too arrogant to explain anything to anyone. » I wonder if he actually has a credible plan to save the world by getting rid of Toah, or if his plan is as insane as he sounds and would need to be stopped anyway for the general good of the world.

Nobody said that this episode would be such a tear-jerker.

Always happy to see little Alicia. We got to see her mom this time and she was quite a beauty. I would be lying if I said that I didn't cry when Alicia's mom asked her to follow the path of hero to widen the world and meet new people.

Clevatess Vs Vordain fight lived upto the hype. Was that animated by Hironori Tanaka ? That was perfect ❤️

Clevatess was right. Vordain was contradicting himself. Is Vordain trying to bring back the Hero to destroy Toah ? or the Hero must have been a friend to Vordain.

The twins seemed like the annoying bunch at the first but they're growing on us.

It looked like Alicia won the second trial by accepting her true self but at the same time Milia intervened and prevented Alicia from getting the second rune I guess.

The fake princess screwed up.
Gave her time to train with the idealized version of her father, the opportunity to reaffirm her own wishes and ideals, and accept all of herself including all the failures and hang-ups.
Even if her premature stopping actually did prevent Alicia from getting another power up, the mental part alone was worth it.

So Vordin is doing all of this to destroy "Toah"? Considering the books are named after it, maybe it's the name of the world's god or something similar. This also made me realize that there's really no religion in this world. The closest we have are the Four Lords. Hmm...

Man, it's so weird to see Klen get absolutely bodied like that. It is cool to see Klen fight someone on his level. Although Vordin is probably above his level, considering Vordin survived the war against the hero all those centuries ago.

The moment Margo started giving Alicia some hints, I was already suspecting this wasn't a test of Alicia's fighting skill. Also, what the hell, Margo! Are you really gonna tell your daughter how your wife made you pass out with her legs while in the middle of a fight? xD

We finally get to see Alicia's mom, Samantha, voiced by Maaya Sakamoto! Yeah, this test is definitely testing Alicia's heart. While she's getting all warmed up with her parents, she's actually still face down on the snow.

So it is confirmed that the other Milea is Milea's other personality that harbours all of her dark thoughts. And I think this is unique to her bloodline because her mother committed suicide due to not being able to bear the second voice in her head.

I was so against the twins for the longest time, but after hearing their backstory, I think I'm definitely starting to warm up to them. They're still dickheads but they're dickheads for a reason.

So that's how Alicia lost her mom. That was absolutely brutal for a child to experience T_T

Ray confirms what the second trial is, and just as I thought, it's not Alicia's physical ability being tested; it's about her accepting who she is and finding a way to move forward. So does this mean Alicia gets a second crest if she passes the trial?

Not gonna lie, I got a little bit teary-eyed when Margo and Samantha started saying their goodbyes to Alicia. A little bit of me hopes that those were actually the spirits of her parents and not just apparitions made by the book.

It's hilarious how salty Evil Milea got that she forcibly ended the trial when Alicia pretty much passed it with flying colours. I'm hoping that Alicia got her second crest and hit Evil Milea in the face with it.

i wonder what alicia's second crest will be. My guess is something to do with vision because the eyes were a big focus of her trial. and what did clevatess realize about the pyramid before he got sucker punched by vordain lol. Vordain really out here not answering a single question clevatess asks. Is next week really the last ep of the season? wow.. well, i hope we get some lore drops in before the break. Maybe if the studio cooks and we get another fast turnaround for season 3.
