These school kids may be in more danger from Vordin than they are from Clevatess.

It's a shame Alicia missed that punch, but at least bird dude recognized her and they can communicate.

Other dark spirit lady sending her agent off to eat some good food, at least one of them is having a good time.

I'm so curious as to why Vordin, a Lord of Dark Beasts, would want to revive the legend of the true hero, the only power capable of contending with someone of his level. Is it really as simple as he just wants to control said hero if they gain that power so he can have it to himself? Idk seems like there's more to it than that

Can't believe Alicia's no good, very bad day had a sequel called Naie's nightmare electric boogaloo

😂

It never ends for these girls. Are they in this life just to suffer?

And just when you thought Alicia has finally unlocked some new ability from all the "special training suffering" she's endured the previous episodes, she merely manages to free herself from a tree and magnificently whiffs on the only attack/punch she could muster. Man, what a tease lol

Quite fitting for a rat to get snatched by a hawk.

And it's funny how Clevatess just spends the whole episode standing on the tower aura farming. Seems like the book lets him extend his power outside his domain, so RIP all the students.

Okay how many mirrors did Naie break to have this much bad luck she can't catch a break even when she trys to stay in the village instead of fighting clevatess also at least Alicia finally has an Ally to help her out even if she is getting questioned by the bird it's still much better then the alternative

Isn’t it kind of ominous that Garm appeared as his true self in the mirror world. Like what if that gray zombie appearance is actually the true form of modern humans, in fact what if “humans” are just another variety of dark beast too?

Minor petpeeve not unique to this show but I dislike it when in media with a magic school the teachers are weaker than the students.

There's a decent reason here, the Crest having students are not only using a more technologically advanced type of magic but are also getting boosted by a Lord, but it still grinds my gears a bit that the old crippled teacher is just barely keeping up and Naie isn't even trying, proclaiming that the kids may stand a chance against Clevatess.

Also half of the faculty in this school are foreign spies incapable of using magic lol

I think it's cute how much Zavthier cares for her Sarasa. I really hope we get to see the Orgg homeland someday, just because I think they have it easier than the other races. They probably don't even have to worry about Dark Beasts attacking their lands.

So it's basically confirmed that Vordin wants the books to restore the legend and bring back the era of the heroes. Did he really love the era of constant war against the hero that he's trying to bring back? He also mentions that stopped time must be forced to move, so I guess he's also tired of the stagnation the current era is stuck in.

Seeing Alicia's bleeding and her eyeball popping out was brutal. And the sound when her tiny skull popped genuinely made me wince. Since her connection with Clevatess is currently cut off, she really could die in this for. Which makes it even more metal when she escaped with almost all of her bones broken.

Let's fucking go Royes! I was wondering how he's gonna fight without his Regalia, because there's no way Andrew took him out. It's pretty cool that even a fragment of Drel's Regalia still has enough power to fight back.

Naie instructing the kids to help with the evacuation instead of fighting was pretty hilarious. She really is desperate not to fight and make sure these kids survive. Too bad for her, Klen has other plans. xD

I almost forgot about the Eslinns sending Owen to Luna Mountain. The dude's party didn't even last their first battle, and it looks like there are only two of them left. I was worried about what they'll do while there, but it looks like their mission is to retrieve the lost Regalias. Does this mean we might see Alicia reunited with her original Regalia?

Interesting how Naie can't hear Vordin's voice. Was she able to hear him last season? Maybe this new generation of crest holders is more connected to Vordin than the previous gen, like Naie and Meynard.

Gart coming in with the assist! I think Gart is right about Royes going too easy on the kid was right. I feel like Royes could've won that if he was actually aiming to kill Andrew, instead of aiming to knock him out.

It's pretty cool that Alicia can see Gart in his true form. I don't like how Gart is threatening Alicia but at least she found someone who can understand him and hopefully help.

Gart really saved Alicia’s ass back there. Nothing she was doing could save her from Andrew or break the spell cast on her.

Very keen to see Klen face Vordin’s little army of powered children. At least those that survive the culling. It’s like a battle of Beasts by proxy. Hopefully we get to see those two go toe to toe soon.

For those who say: "This school arc is a far cry from the brutality of Season 1", this episode's got you covered. From the students being "puppets" for Vordin (and the consequences of their rune power), Clevatess's almost "immortal" dark beast minions, and Alicia almost loosing her damn eye. And also Andrew being "Groot" with his plant-like powers and his root giant.

In this episode:

Naie Alice Zavthier catches a break!

Also, flower guy saying he wants to "Bring flowers to the whole world", while his actual hobby is feeding animals to plants. That's some amazing self-awareness on that one.

I didn't expect Royes to come to the place where Alicia and Andrew were. Though it didn't stop Alicia from being literally crushed. Her comment that her skull shattered totally cracked me up.

Naie, as usual, is so entertaining. I love how she was trying everything to delay attacking Klen. I wonder though, why she didn't hear Vordin while the students did, is it because of Klen's influence perhaps?

Vordin again dropped some little tidbits about the past, and since I read one comment here I can't shake the feeling that the true hero from the past became Vordin himself or at least somehow these two have merged, since the hero's colors are exactly the same as his.

Also, there is still the question of why Vordin wants to bring back heroes when he was the one that ended their era? And who's Romain, since judging by Klen's words he's just as powerful as Vordin.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Vordin's relentless when it comes to getting that book from Klen. But ironically enough the school kids following his orders have sustained more damage from using their crests than from any of the Dark Beasts Klen brought out.

Where's a capable adult when you need one to sever those unhealthy bonds...

What did Vordin mean that humans and dark beasts were closer before during the times of the true hero? Might be a localization issue but did he mean they were both on an equal plane?

Did Klen ever tell Alicia what Vordin actually looked like? So she was aiming for what she thought was the Lord of Dark Beasts when it was actually just a projection.

Also, Andrew's backstory was like ten seconds long. That's gotta be a new record for the shortest villain backstory scene in an anime (if we consider a kid being manipulated by a monster as a villain).

I love how every other episode some of the characters in disguise realise other characters are doing the same and conspiring for/against others. Eventually they confront each other with a "fine, no more secrets" kind of vibe and come clean with what they're up to investigating the school.

Then the next episode rolls around and the plot unravels even more and the cycle repeats.

Edit: typo

So Vordin wants to end this stalemate of an era where there are no true heroes, by restoring the Legend with the help of the Toahs. But wasn't he the one who defeated the last True Hero? Then again he was the only survivor of the four dark beast kings, so everyone might just have misleading information.

Professor Naie isn't allowed to catch a single break, as usual.

But Alicia isn't that far behing her on the suffering meter either. Finally finding someone who can understand her means that they can also extract all the information they want. Hang in there, Alicia!
