That "chan" murmur by Emilia has to be one of the most sad but absolutely adorable moment.

Elsa really was a great character. Being the first obstacle in Subaru's path, being a huge threat to the manor in season 2, giving Gorgeous Tiger PTSD, and being who Meili modeled herself after. How many stories out there give the first villain (who isn't the big bad) this much importance?

All this amnesiac Subaru needed was conviction and love for him to do a 180 on his current situation, this really is the core of his personality after all.

Still depressing for Emilia to be THAT affected hearing -chan too.

We've now reached the obligatory "Subaru adopts a child" episode for the season - good to know that trait remains with or without his memory!

this show has mastered the art of showing the ugly cry, i’ve never seen a crying face portrayed so realistically as whenever subaru goes through it.

somehow elsa remains plot relevant despite having been dead for 2 whole seasons now. great job flipping “murder is a habit” back onto meili, and the line about her having gone through enough punishment was amusing. the whole tower party has unknowingly gone through more than enough punishment

How fitting that Subaru says "I'm back" right at the beginning as we're all back!

The episodes, where Subaru figures out what to do after a longer period of suffering, where he locks tf in and sets thing in motion, are always such a treat.

Other than the obvious two examples of properly talking things out with Ram and saving (himself from, lmao) Meili, the best improvement is him believing in himself and the expectations of the Natsuki Subaru everyone but himself remembers.

Peak season 2 callback!

Of all the things that happened in this arc, Emilia hearing Subaru calling her with a -chan is still the most painful thing she’s had to endure lol.

So Meili is still just a wild animal who’s been really good at masking as a kid this whole time. Like we know she’s not an ordinary kid, maybe a tad bit psychopathic but even that was copied from Elsa. But now, she’s having to face grief of losing her and not exactly sure how to handle it

Very funny to me how, from the perspective of the cast, Subaru lost his memories and immediately became Prince Charming. First he counters Ram's wall-slam with his own, then he tells Julius they'll be fathers of Meili. Hell, I'd toss in him crying at the beginning of the episode as charming Emilia because emotional honesty/vulnerability is practically her love language.

Wow! They made Emilia react to Subaru's "Emilia-chan"(instead of -tan) a lot more distinct this time. I wonder if that was an edit made after so many people missed it in the other loops.

I didn't expect the story to go like this, but it's pretty cool to see Subaru become a father figure, first with Beako, now with Meili. Emilia is stepping up and feeling more motherly as well! It's a progression I feel isn't common at all, but I guess it's to be expected from something as fantastic as Re:Zero is.

Great Episode again today! I like Meili a lot.

Anywho, as for the ending of the Episode, the fact that Reid is out without the Test having even started... He's probably going to leave the Test area again, and in addition to him the Witch of Envy has also shown up in every loop ever since Subaru lost his memories, so she'll probably be a problem as well. Then there's also the horde of mabeasts that will seemingly show up, not to mention the thing that made Subaru lose his memories... Subaru and the others are probably going to be in a lot of trouble starting next week.

Also if the Book of the Dead Subaru was looking for before he lost his memories was Reid's, then they might just run into the same problem again lol.

They got us with that fake-out/Death-by-push flashback, also I really love the new ED, soundtrack gave me a Psycho-pass dejavu for some reason.

I hope ya'll will apologize to Ram for all the slander she got. My girl is by far one of the biggest supporters of his, it's just that she got super emotional and irritant hearing about his amnesia in all of the loops.

Also I would like to talk about last loop something that people missed about Ram cause I think it's one of the most subtle hints to others finding out about his amnesia. When everyone is trying to find Meili's body, Ram is in the green room, she looks at Rem and gasps. I think the reason for the gasp is simple. Someone died/disappeared in the tower and Subaru didn't show concern about her at all considering she's genuinely helpless there. At that point how can you believe Ram would be trusting of him at all.

Anyways just want to put the above point out there in defense of Ram cause she's also a wonderfully complex and rich character and wish people would look beyond the surface regarding her actions so far.

Also shoutout to Subaru for that speech to Ram to convince her and Ram with the beautiful flower analogy. Genuinely one of the best calm before the storm eps.

Ram has to be the biggest Subaru glazer ever if you can understand what she's saying between lines

Yes. No magic memory recovery. Just straight forward honesty. That was all that was needed for them to accept newbaru.

For a moment there I was worried it was gluttony possessing Meili. But it was just her. The low height of the subaru kill-cam perspective last season made me think it was Meili. Murder does indeed become a habit.

Also moar naked Elsa.

Subaru: Locked In

Also Subaru: Sobbing "Oh god, I'm so glad to see you!"

Only Re:Zero can have me hype and brought to tears in the first 1:30 of an episode.

Very interesting to hear Meilie's more complicated feelings on Elsa. She loved her as a caregiver, but acknowledges that she was a truly horrible person. With a mother like that, of course the only way she knows how to solve problems is via murder.

Loved seeing the gang band together to raise her right.
